  1. whoa I was really surprised by this, very unique, don't really know how to describe it. Nice work!
  2. Def here the Bogdan influence on this one, especially with that nintendo-esque synth in the beginning, top notch stuff, exciting!
  3. New AA is great, DBC 1 is amazing... I love it when Luke strings together a bunch of samples from different sources all talking about the same thing, like on "God"
  4. Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol It's really hilarious in a cynical way and I love it, weird how humor is so immune to time
  5. I feel like an idiot but I can't get the Bandcamp Player Embed to work. Basically I go to the bandcamp track/album, go to "embed", choose layout, choose "wordpress" (not html), and copy and paste the shortcode into the "Bandcamp Player Embed." However, it always comes up with a 400 error code, as seen below. (Or maybe you don't see it!) What am I doing wrong?
  6. I love that track, the way he cuts the drums in and out at the end is so simple yet satisfying
  7. Saw Dog Day Afternoon (1975) recently. Pacino is so good at being frustrated
  8. I played piano years ago, some part of me secretly wants to isolate myself in the woods and just play piano by myself forever. Sounds really good btw

has nobody yet mentioned his use of afx? there was a track from analogue bubblebath 3 in one of the dee dee skits I think, as well as a track from the orb can't figure out how to post a youtube vid but the afx track is like the second one in that live video from '93 the orb track is Spanish castles in space also how to post youtube vid? link thing doesn't work
  10. Local Hero- 8/10, what an unknown gem, such a unique movie that doesn't fit into any bland archetype, with a brilliant sense of humor. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind- 8/10, a beautiful movie, and cool to see one of Hayao Miyazaki's first big successes
  11. I really wonder if new album=tour... I mean normally artists go on tour when they release something new and big, but this is RDJ we're talking about...
  12. Seriously? Jacquard Causeway? :/ That's a fuckin masterpiece in my book. But to each his own I guess.
  13. Sorry I don't feel like flipping through 29 pages and I just want to be absolutely sure this is correct... $16 is the minimum amount to get the tracks? Edit: Never mind it's pretty clear the answer is yes
  14. Meat Beat Manifesto- Satyricon and Original Fire somehow found these two on two consecutive Fridays in the same record store. Have to say I never really heard Meat Beat before but these albums are incredible, I give both an 8. Dunno how I managed to come across them... sounds a bit like the Orb but more edgy imo, with some really great samples.
  15. Gonna bring this thread back, because I'm dying to know where he managed to get those samples of the kid talking in Kwikwidetrax. The first sample is pretty simple, but how'd he manage to find a kid saying (albeit a bit incomprehensibly) "Luke Vibert," "Wagon Christ!" I just fucking love those samples. Did he get his kids to say it? Also anyone know if the opening melody in Tomach is a sample or just something he wrote?
  16. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (third time viewing)- 8.5-9/10. Took me a few times to really get into this movie, but after the third viewing I really think they did capture the book quite perfectly, which is most certainly my favorite book of all time. A nice dose of insanity. Johnny Depp is pretty amazing at portraying Hunter S. Thompson on drugs.... would have preferred if Dr. Gonzo looked more like the 300-pound Samoan in the book but now I realize they were probably going more for a portrayal of the real life character, this chicano dude Oscar Acosta.
  17. Dear God, someone used Schottkey 7th Path in a trailer? That song is too divine to be the background for anything... I think it's hilarious how the media interprets things like SAW II as simple "background music." In terms of adverts, dunno if this was up here already but when I was in the States I saw a commercial for "Bank of America" or something backed by Girl/Boy.
