  1. Dank memes have ruined all the simple laughs for me, if I can understand it under a second it's for the dogs
  2. I also enjoy it very much. I respect that he went away from his comfort zone and became more of a composer than a solo virtuoso. Tastyy
  3. I watched Poesia Sin Fin. Jodorowsky is a bit old and doesn't punch in the gut like he used to. But even though he's basically made a film about himself, you can admire the sincerity. And having your sons play your father and yourself is quite an information to have inside your head while watching it. Jesus what did he put his family through :D But yeah, 7/10

Just read The Interface Series by Mother Horse Eyes and this could be a great first draft for something grand if it will ever get properly published. The Interface Series is btw a collection of random creepy comments by a single user on Reddit which form a narrative if read in chronological succession. The story is fucking crazy and very well done actually. LSD, CIA, WW2, alcoholism, occultism, gore, etc.

I didn't really want to say anything on WATMM since it's in Slovenian language but fuck it - I wrote a novel and published it :) Just saying: https://blazh.bandcamp.com/merch/tat-not Anyway, carry on with more international material! Actually, this weekend I read Ham On Rye by Bukowski after a decade or so. It was my first Bukowski novel and it still holds up. The guy knows how to write even tho there is no structure.

    TWIN PEAKS

As much as I really enjoyed the whole season 3, I agree that there were some deus ex machina moments, especially with the Green Glove guy. But I think this is why the last two episodes are so important - all neatly planned plots are connected in E17 for the final showdown and then Lynch and Frost say: ok, this is what all TV shows try to do, connect everything in a final showdown with deus ex machina moments, but this is all fiction ("We live in a dream") and bam! - we get E18 of pure confusing reality without resolutions.

Shit man, after a day of working, drinking and smoking I can honestly say this is the best way it could end!

Holy motherfucking shit. After thinking about what the fuck happened in the finale for about half an hour I came to the conclusion that I always come to after watching Lynch: it's all about the feeling and intensity. And Lynch chose to really shake up the whole universe that the viewer grew attached to. He did this by all means necessary. And he probably wanted us to feel the definite end of what is Twin Peaks. When something ends wrapped up nicely, as most series films do, it is not the end - the story stays with you. Lynch did the ultimate thing - he ended the story within the story. Man, I'm kind of sad and nervous. I think this is really big.

Like many said before this series is a troll fest at its finest. There is some truly bad acting and bad scenes in it and it somehow makes it even more special. I wouldn't be suprised if Cooper never woke up. Lynch seems to love to not scratch an itch.

Mild spoilers. Murakami is hit or miss for me. I had trouble finishing the book, I felt the character development was handled very poorly. If a story has no development it can be frustrating, but his handling of Aomame was just strange. The strong person in the first two books just sort of vanishes and it becomes all about Tengo. I wouldn't put it past myself to have missed something, though. Interesting, I'll have to relay what I thought once I finish it! I came into this one after reading Norwegian Wood, which I loved so I didn't/don't really know what to expect. In Slovenia it was released in two volumes - book 1 & 2 in the first volume and book 3 in the second. As I understand, Murakami wrote the first two books as a finished whole, but then came back to the story because he felt he needed a happy ending. If you ask me, he should've stopped after the second book. As I read the first volume I thought this is the best shizzle ever, it really drew me in. I got the second volume as fast as I could. Big mistake - Murakami really blew it. It was just really boring. A large part of the third book was an uninteresting character finding out stuff that already happend in the first volume. I couldn't even read it all, I skipped over parts. A shame really :(
  12. Gomorra: Season 1 It started kind of naive but really became grimy as f around the sixth episode. I like it very much, even though it really is a sobering view on the ruthlessness of Italian Camorra. I'm from Slovenia, close to Italy and acquaintance of mine was in Sicily a few years ago. Mafia came and shot down the whole bar (where he was drinking) just to kill one guy. My acquaintance lived but by pure luck and of course didn't tell anything to police (even though he really didn't see anything). This kind of no-mercy-no-bullshit vibe is very apparent in Gomorra. Can't wait to watch the second season.
  13. Yeah I'm having trouble getting through it. As I spoke with friends they were quite ecstatic and saying there are a lot of great lyricism, great metaphors, but my take on rap was always listen to the whole package first and then listen to lyrics. If it doesn't grab me by the sound then I won't try hard to get the message. And I think that I will try again with DAMN. but it makes me angry that I'll try just because of the hype and because it is Kendrick (I loved his previous two albums), but it otherwise truly sounds just like another mainstream 2010's rapper.
  14. Taboo is, while being very cliche in certain aspects, quite good!
  15. Great release! I'm also on hunt for similar music or at least for music that evokes the same feeling. Semya comes quite close, even though he is a lot more psychedelic: https://semya.bandcamp.com/album/golden-days Symbol is more subtle but still comes to mind when thinking about this specific soundscapes: https://holodeckrecords.bandcamp.com/album/online-architecture-hd022 Just sharing if anyone's interested. But other than that, really enjoying No More Dreams!
  16. I also think it's his best work - or at least it made the biggest impact on me. This and Totems Flare.
  17. Anomalisa 4/5 Very well made, a compelling story, just a bit boring at times. But still recommended! I think about it a lot after watching it The Look Of Silence 4,5/5 Powerful shit!
