Anything by Masaaki Yuasa is gold. He's the only director trying out new things, consequences be damned. Just watched my bluray of Mind Game, and it's still amazing. IMO, no one else comes close for being creative, and not just another 'I got transported to another world!' type story. About to watch his Yaiba for the first time, and I am excited.

name and shame Not sure how strict their contract is (I believe it's about sharing the music more than anything else) but I won't yet. If they make up for the tardiness, all will be well. But if they still behind when it comes to cancelling the sub, I will be somewhat saddened and call them out. Kinda reminds of some Kickstarter projects that are hugely late, and the project runners tell backers 'to be patient'. Oh, and if I was late in paying them, would they like being told 'to be patient'? I suspect not. Once they have your money, the promises made to get it really don't matter.

Joined a private subscription service for an artist I like and they've released about two of the tracks they promised they would. Just last week they released the November track (the subscription guaranteed one track per month). Kinda lame, seeing as how they're being real strict on banning people for breaking the rules, and yet they are not holding up their side of the bargain. When questioned, they make jokes about it. Haha, we totally are late! Cool, right? When renewal comes up, definitely not resubscribing. To be fair: the two tracks posted ARE really good, and substantial. But if they had/do release two minute ambient farts, I would/will be miffed.

A vinyl OST I missed two pressings of is doing a third, and I didn't (but almost kinda did) miss out this time. Thank God it was so popular to demand so many represses! [bandcamp width=350 height=470 album=2676880955 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=0687f5 tracklist=true track=421786166] Not every song that I liked is on there, but considering how popular the OST is, wouldn't be surprised if a second release was planned. If I don't miss it. edit: second First World Success: figuring out how to do Bandcamp links again. So much nicer than a YouTube link.

Finished Don Quixote. Really enjoyable, especially once book 2 starts. Suprisingly meta. Now to read Franzen's Farther Away essay collection. The tone of the first one makes me suspect I won't enjoy this one as much as How To Be Alone. lol

Finally watched my bluray of Mind Game, the debut film of Masaaki Yuasa. Absolute masterpiece. The last time I watched it was at 144p on Youtube. Nice to see everything as it was meant to be.
