It was epic, the bass was so intense, noticed it more than in Field Day. Played more of his old tracks in this set - Night Mail, Papat, Tuss, Vordhosbn and Analord track.

No way, I played this in a virtual reality experience called Otherworld in London at the weekend. Was really immersive and got completely lost in it.

This guy's facial expressions do a good job of conveying what it's like listening to Surripere for the first time...

An absolute abomination.
The song in its entirety. The stupid acoustic guitar chords in the intro. The corny ass scratching. Possibly the worst chorus of any “rap” song in the history of the genre. The video is hilariously awful as well. Was this actually a hit back in the day?
Sometimes I can’t help but imagine that this tune is what kicks in halfway through BOCs ‘Reach for the Dead’.

Had someone in the back row doing some erratic random clapping for like ten minutes in the last part of the second set, pretty weird.
yeah I heard that and was like how the fuck are they getting that random clapping noise to sound as if it coming behind me. I had some annoying dude sat next to me who kept checking his phone every few mins to send messages in the darkness

I was at both shows tonight. First one was a brain melter, will take a while to process it. The second show was completely different set. It had a very different vibe, sounded more like futuristic hip hop, even some Gescom style scratching thrown in. There was a section that reminded me of Dial. There was a more vocal crowd reaction in the second show. The two Zoviet France sets were different as well.

I've never really heard any Tarentel, any recommends on where to start?
From bone to satellite is their debut, which is also best starting off point. Then the following records below is where they get progressively more abstract:
Ephemera (a collection of their EPs)
The order of things
We move through the weather
Ghetto beats from the surface of the sun

Big fan of JCL’s work. Own a few on vinyl - songs of forgiveness and remembrance, 13 moons and on the echoing green. Was also into his former band, Tarentel, who were one of the more interesting acts to have emerged out of the post rock scene.

Thank you so much Digit and IOS for putting all the effort to make this a reality, absolutely stunning! Something very special about how this has been patiently recreated by fans.

I was already into Aphex and Boards at the time, I also had borrowed a copy of Chiastic Slide but it didn’t grab me after one or two spins. Then around 2002 I was in Barcelona and saw a cheap Confield cd and thought I would take a punt and had no expectations.
Upon cranking it up on the stereo I was completely blown away. I recall the moment when it clicked for me was during Pen Expers, the combination of the stuttering beats and the majestic synth melody that slowly reveals itself. I had never heard anything like this album, it sounded so otherworldly and unlike any other electronic music.
I was hooked from then on and have gone onto collect all their records, although I gravitate more towards the the abstract output.
In terms of seeing them, I convinced a friend to go with me to the Autechre curated ATP, which was a lot of fun and they did a Gescom set. Although I had to wait a couple more years to experience an AE set.

marhide sounds like when you are in the gents at a service station and you are minding your own business drying your hands with the hand dryer, then someone starts using the one next to you, and shorty afterwards another dude powers up the one to your other side.
