  1. This is the same place The Reach for the Dead video was premiered, are we getting a music video?!
  2. I'd be very happy with a track or two of something we've only heard in live recordings, like he did with Syro
  3. Cheetah3 must've been remastered at least? I missed the prevs but it's hard to imagine he did nothing to it.
  4. Can't edit my post (guess it's too old now) but just wanted to add that I pre-ordered the CD. Am I the only one? :) The reasons being that my existing Aphex collection is in CD format and that my record player is broken. No CD for me this time, I only order them if there's a bonus track involved. I'm happy with vinyl+download
  5. 99 percent invisible recently did a really good podcast (Short) about the resurgence of tape, and how one of the biggest tape-using demographics is the US prison system. http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/loud-and-clear/
  6. Well said! RDJ is really an album on my point of view. Let's hope this Cheetah is as well, although i'm afraid it will be an EP (based on 2015 AFX experiences) I didn't even learn until embarrassingly recently that Come to Daddy wasn't an album (Also around the same length at 32:54) What are you all on about? "EP," "LP," "album," etc. are just holdover vinyl terminology. They were only useful because they let you know roughly how long the thing would run. These days they tell you literally nothing (except that they give corporate music and radio a great excuse to manufacture the illusion of product diversity and sometimes maybe sell you the same thing twice). If you know the Cheetah run-time, great, fuck the extra letters. This is idm, for wagonchrist's sake, these dudes practically invented adding meaningless numbers and letters to track titles for the lulz. Debating whether RDJ Album or Come to Daddy are EPs or "albums proper" is sophistic wankery. That's all well and good, but not what I said. What it boils down to is: Most "EP's" are not 30+ minutes long, so that's a lot of music. Lots of music is good.

  8. Japan exclusive releases from Warp are released through Beat Records, amazon Japan is selling this from Beat but it just says Japan gets an exclusive sticker and a "manual/instruction book" and only 7 tracks are listed. probably the poster? Could be, sounds more like an actual booklet though.. made by this company

  10. Any time there's something announced, all Richard-less music becomes irrelevant to me. To start, today shall be an all Analord day
  11. Thank you kindly, I was also looking for alternative places to buy but couldn't find any, now I got me one ordered, you made my day with that info Glad it worked :) I popped in a Canadian address and it didn't give me any flak when trying to check out, I didn't actually purchase it though (LP for me), so I wasn't sure.
  12. To whom it may concern, Amazon.co.jp is accepting preorders for the cassette and seems to ship internationally
  13. This one of my favourite tracks by either of them, more collab stuff coming to the surface would be just delightful
  14. do we have a source on that? I've seen it attributed to both Tom n Rich, but I've never actually seen/heard it in a Squarepusher set and Aphex said it was marked for release, but I guess he didn't explicitly say released by himself.
  15. I hope the Rome track wasn't in that hard-drive. Is what you call the Rome track what I call the Sonar 2011 track? that's the recording I've listened to most I swear somewhere in this thread is a screencap of him confirming a release of that one
  16. In the description for the Surfing on Sine Waves playlist: "Would love to release this on Warp, all mastered properly, maybe a dble album, Warp?" Doesn't sound like there's any bad blood between them...
  17. I've never been so excited to not see the number 155
  18. So I've started logging the BPM's of the songs, but I'm going to work now. If anyone's bored/interested and wants to help out, I would love you dearly! 8 Utopia - 114 original Chaos riff - 120 22 Pearls - 117 Quad rave teac - 140 Suzanne - 119 bimbongo2 - 125 20 Pink floyd - 104 Parking lot - 99 1 Chink 101 - 117 They're done with a BPM tap and my sense of rhythm is pretty shit (esp. at 8am), but I did my best
  19. Awww yeah, these things always show up either when I wake up or finish work I feel like I won the timezone lottery
  20. Immediately remembered this while listening to PRNCDMC (At 3:39)
  21. The guys at reddit.com/r/aphextwin are in charge of that spreadsheet. Last time I checked it was publicly editable, thought there where some epic troles making BoC references and stuff like that, so maybe they disabled that. This spreadsheet is beautiful. a column for bpm would be cool!
  22. Yes it's one of the top tracks! So it is! I didn't look at the play counts though it was the last track added in one of the dumps IIRC, and I'd think those get a boosted playcount, being first on the playlist
  23. Haven't seen '7 Cutting' mentioned at all. Anybody else a big fan of it? It vaguely reminds me of one of my favourite Aphex songs, 'Freeman, Hardy and Willis Acid', with that piercing snare and the monolithic bass underneath everything.
