    Currently watching the Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways documentary. Quite enjoyable so far. Some episodes are more entertaining than others, but they're all pretty interesting nevertheless. Also started the final season of Eastbound & Down last night, and re-re-re-re-watching An Idiot Abroad. I swear that never gets old.

    Mindblowing fact is mindblowing. Also, according to my Last.fm, I've clocked 100 listens for XMAS_EVET10. It's a 10-and-a-half-minute track, which means I've spent 1,050 minutes listening to it since Syro came out. That equates to 17.5 hours. Kinda ridiculous when you realise that's just one song from an album that has only been out for a little over two months. So damn good though. I reckon I could have easily gone another few years without another sniff of Aphex acid, had Joyrex not played the tease game with us.

    Caught up on a bunch of new releases yesterday. Pink Floyd - The Endless River Not a bad album, but not exactly necessary either. Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways Few stand out tracks on there. Will probably need another couple of listens to properly get into it. Lykke Li - I Never Learn Meh. Not much going on here. Still tons better than the average pop album though, I suppose. Flying Lotus - You're Dead Pretty decent. I'd have preferred a handful of proper length tracks as opposed to a hundred 1-minute jams, though. Gonna try and check out the new Electric Wizard album at some point today. Looking forward to that one!

    Not exactly Syro related, but I was watching Eastbound & Down last night and noticed this. I don't know if anyone else has picked up on this before, but I thought it'd share it anyway.

    I'm really surprised that there isn't even a sniff of this album on YouTube yet. (not including Minipops and live clips) On one hand, that's pretty good going. It's obviously encouraged everyone to buy the album, or at least check it out on Spotify. The downside is that all the non/casual Aphex fans will be exposed to the shitty fakes, and assume they're legit.

    I've always considered CTD to be an album, and Windowlicker an EP. Just look at the amount of tracks and the length of each release. It makes a lot more sense than releasing them as an EP and single, respectively. But yeah, you're right. If they were merged, it'd be my all-time favourite LP fo sho.

    Question. My CD artwork lists disc 2 track 4 as QKThr, and it seems that everywhere else lists it as Penty Harmonium. It even came up as the latter when I ripped the album to my iTunes library. What's the reasoning behind this? This has been bugging me for quite some time, and I guess this thread seemed like the best place to ask.

    I must have been around 11 or 12 when I first heard Drukqs. It was quite a lot for my brain to take in, and as a result, I wasn't too fussed by the majority of it. However, I started to appreciate the album a lot more after revisiting it a few years later, and now I'd definitely consider it to be Richard's magnum opus. It would be fucking phenomenal if he crafted a sequel, or an album of a similar nature. One of the best tracks on the album yo.

    I much prefer this/Barbican recording to the final Syro release. Partly due to the doppler effect, but mainly because I find the birdsong a bit corny/cliché. The creaking worked a lot better, imo.

    This year's TF2 Halloween event is immense, so I've been playing that for most of today. Also saw it as a good opportunity to test out my screen capture software, which I'm pretty damn impressed with. I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd be able to capture footage in 2560x1440 at 60fps. http://youtu.be/_6Hx1n0fRpw I scaled the footage down to 1080p and dropped the bitrate to prevent it from taking an eternity to upload, but I've kept the high framerate for maximum smoothness. I don't think YouTube's 60fps option is available on phones/tablets, so this will only play properly on a web browser.

    My initial thought of Minipops was that it sounded like a hybrid of Windowlicker and Cornish Acid. In fact, I find a lot of the tracks on Syro give nods to certain RDJ tracks/albums/eras. The Japanese bonus track is essentially SAW 85-92 on steroids.

    I've re-downloaded Left 4 Dead 2 ready for a mega Halloween sesh. Bought it on Steam when it came out, racked up a total of 4 hours playtime, and never bothered with it again, so I'm sure as shit gonna be making up for it this weekend.

    Still on my PS3 waiting to be played like 100s of others. Psychonauts on PS3? Say what?! Also, good shout on Portal 2. Fucking loved that game, definitely need to replay it at some point. It's on the US PSN store, don't think it's available on the UK store, though. My official account is with the UK store, and I have a dummy account for the US store. It's only $5, so if you're desperate, go for it, you can also cash in on the much better sales. That's awesome. I've got US and Jap PSN accounts but never got around to setting up the billing info. I just used 'em back in the day to get all the exclusive demos that us Brits never had, and still probably don't have haha Thanks man!

    Well yeah, it's cool that it's free now, but it still would've been nice for Valve to acknowledge us veterans a bit more. The store is definitely getting ridiculous. There are so many items now, and a lot of them are quite expensive when put into context. I can't seem to justify spending £6 on a little parrot that sits on your shoulder with absolutely no gameplay benefits.

    The new Mann vs Machines mod is really great. But I never felt the need to play TF2 that much, even tho I love that game... More into DotA 2 at the moment ! I still haven't got around to MvM yet, but it's somewhere on my 'to-do' list. Having too much fun playing Payload matches at the moment haha Yeah, I felt a little jewed over when Valve announced the whole 'free-to-play' thing. But oh well, at least we got a virtual hat and a fucking badge out of it, eh?
