  1. I don't know what it is but his new stuff sounds "thin" to me. I'm assuming the mastering is great for dynamic range or something.. maybe I got used to super compressed modern mastering? I remember thinking this when I heard Xmas Eve for the first time. I still prefer the muddy live recording of that one before it was released.
  2. I definitely like the track but can't wait to hear the rest. I'm sure the true "gem" will be in there somewhere. For me it's never the Aphex singles that have the magic. Come To Daddy has the godly Flim. Cheetah has like 4 better tracks than the single (Imo) etc.
  3. The "collapse effect" is applied to all his other releases too (on bleep). kinda cool. https://bleep.com/release/74048-aphex-twin-cheetah-ep
  4. I have recently conducted certain tests on various content at your favourite video hosting site (no, not that one), but nothing worthy of note to report back. Brings back fond memories of sniffing out Syro trax early, if nothing else Thanks for checking! I'm more excited at the prospect of brand spankin' new material.
  5. Speculative Question: Do you think he has played this track out live yet? Anyone tried the youtube copyright trick thinger?
  6. Failed an epilepsy test? Really? Hopefully the tune is completely crazy. I could go for Aphex in bat shit mode.
  7. joyrex baby. Have you played Nioh? I hear its similar to DarkBorne plus Ninja Gaiden. Was thinking of getting that one next.
  8. I never played DS1 myself actually. That was another one I got turned off after an hour and never finished. but I still loved DS3. There is stuff in DS3 that is really rewarding if you played DS1 though. I researched it after beating the game and it would have enriched the experience of 3 quite a bit I think. Saying that, If you can get bloodborne pretty easily I would actually start there. I think its the best entry point to these types of games. If not, DS3 still kicks tons of ass. Can't really go wrong.
  9. Just finished Dark Souls 3 (finally) Once again an incredible experience. The first half I kept comparing it to Bloodborne and was thinking Bloodborne was superior, but it eventually really drew me in, and it's in my top 10 favorite games of all time.. maybe top 5. And if anyone is reading this that doesn't "get" the dark souls games, I was just like you for a good 5 years. I would buy them, give them a whirl and put them down after a couple hours, never to return to them. But persistence is key and I would even recommend a walkthrough for your first go because it's so easy to miss a lot of amazing stuff. These games are SO much better than they seem at first. The mystery of it all and the world building will blow your mind.. not to mention, the combat and leveling is so addicting. I'm officially a From Software fanboy.
  10. The original was (and is) still the best - I would certainly play though a 4K remaster of this. Oh nice. LOVED the 1st and 2nd Deadspace. And heck yeah. I would love a remaster. Doesn't need one at all but I want an excuse to go back to it (preferably on ps4)
  11. I' freaking thrilled about the Dark Souls Remaster. I think I'm the one person on earth that played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 but never Dark Souls. Definitely going to wait for this version now. And DK: Tropical Freeze is another one I missed out on. Can't waaaiiit.
  12. very true.. but at least this happened: I wanna get a shit ton more stuff up here.
  13. tis the question. I have no idear. My ears are telling me 'End' sounds markedly better now... but could be wrong and just wasn't listening loud enough or something. I personally think 'End' sounds .. ok fine I'll stop.

  15. So, are they NOW mastered by BT, as in I should re-download them? or they were before and they're just indicating now. (I can't do a side by side, at work) I'm not completely sure. My ears tell me the last track of Syro sounds better.. the others I didn't listen to that much, as I wore them out on the Soundcloud dump. They are sounding very nice though. thats for sure.
  16. Beau Thomas did the mastering on the original Syro release. Do you know if 'end e2' is any different? Listening to it again now and I swear it's clearer, bassier, etc. sounds awesome. He might have had Beau do the mastering on the digital-only tracks - would make sense (and keep consistent with the release). Looks like that is what's happening. under ICBYD it now says *mastered by Beau Thomas. and a couple tracks have the * by it signifying they are now mastered. sweet beeaaaaaans.

  18. gang. did Richard just put up a different mastered version of Syro? it now says *mastered by Beau Thomas*. Also the last song now has an * next to it. (or maybe that was there all along.
  19. Wow. I'm realizing it is sort of a big deal that I own the original press of the Tuss EP and LP. Never knew they were all that rare or valuable. Looking at some of these prices.. Jesus Christ.
  20. hell yes. Rather a shit ton more tracks instead of physical releases if I had to choose. The epic SAW 1.5 LP will definitely suffice.
  21. Congrats! It took me a ridiculously long time to kill that thing. And actually I was getting kind of turned off from the game while trying. Once I got through the sewers is when I got full-blown obsessed with the game though. Eventually you will get to the point where you may kick the shit out of a boss first try. Definitely gets progressively easier (but still very fun). Can't recommend getting through the whole thing enough. My jaw dropped multiple times by just how awesome some of the settings, enemies and even story are. This is a love letter to H.P. Lovecraft and "cosmic horror" waaaaay more than I realized in the beginning. Jesus. I want a sequel so badly.
  22. Bloodborne is great, it really really is. You may or may not have the same sort of experience with DS3, but it's certainly on par with BB gameplay-wise. The story isn't quite as interesting and 'focused' (lol at using that word for any From soulslike game) as BB, but it's still a great game, definitely allows for more diverse gameplay styles and such, which can give you some change from BB. How long did you spend on it? I've got at least 150 hours logged for BB which included like 3+ playthroughs and 2 or 3 characters. I also did more than a few hours of PVP back in the initial 6 months of its release. Is the PVP stuff still active? Did you do much in the dungeons? I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS sorry I've been itching to do a new run through of DS3 or maybe a new BB run haha. I did do some PVP and god damn that portion of the game is so rewarding as well. May be the best game I've played in years. The game seemed surprisingly active considering how late to the party I was. I did do some of the Chalice Dungeons and honestly if there wasn't a fresh new (to me) From Software game waiting for me, I'm sure I would do a lot more of them but couldn't resist just jumping right into DS3. Isn't a BB sequel rumored? (please be true!)
