  1. Yes, and many others posted by user487363530 as proven a couple of posts back. Oh not doubting the authenticity, but I didn't hear on first go-through. I went back and found it, thanks
  2. Sorry are you saying 24 Squalitude Acid was in that Barcelona clip? This stuff is coming in hot and heavy so I may have missed it
  3. Well with the Llanerlog reference too, maybe he doesn't care anymore
  4. New one just posted - https://soundcloud.com/user487363530/24-squalitude-acid And it's a lovely beast
  5. Nice try Rod ;) Your answer makes me smile a lot; there's something a little sweet and endearing about the thought of me or someone making those tracks and saying "hey guys but what about my stuff it sounds like RDJ tooooo" But as it happens, I definitely didn't make it, and it really genuinely sounds like RDJ to me, more so even than the new user## stuff (although that's much more likely to be him given the other circumstantial info). It sounds less like RDJ, I guess, because it's super old stuff. Rod Whitters Untitled 1 second half sounds super Caustic Window to me. Untitled 4/5, which appears to be two tracks, definitely sounds of that era too.
  6. Thanks for posting that afxafxafx video clip from YT. I agree with the general consensus on that one - some impressive work but not RDJ. Listened again to the reddit/vocaroo track this morning in the car. I guess I'm unsure about that one. I thought I heard some Paradinas in it this morning. I haven't heard much comment on the Rod Whitters YT stuff. That sounds like a definite yes to me.
  7. We don't know the timeline. It's quite possible, since Richard said that one was recent, but that's the only one we have a timeline for relative to the Syro album proper.
  8. Also, thanks folks for grabbing/posting the user# stuff. Going through them now with headphones...delightful stuff! Pretty convincing all told. Ditto on the Rod Whitters YouTube channel.
  9. Sorry to highjack a thread...but Marble Index (and the bonus stuff on the re-release in particular), Desertshore, and The End are divine/otherworldly. There's nothing quite like them
  10. Unless I missed it, it doesn't look like anyone grabbed the afxafxafxafx (etc) track(s)? I missed those...
  11. I'm kinda Nico obsessed but feel that no one shares my passion there
  12. frozenwarning - I'm hoping your user name is a Nico reference!
  13. Sorry if I missed it earlier, but did anyone do a comparison of the 24-bit WAV files against FLAC or MP3?
  14. Yes, definitely this. But I love the album anyway.
  15. It seems like we've been on the same page for the last 40 pages. As Grumpy said, not all of us
  16. Untitled is 100% RDJ to me. The other non-EP tracks seem more mixed to me. There are elements that sound RDJ, and overall seem more like collabs to me, if anything. But yeah, we're on the same page.
  17. I listened to the EP in the car yesterday and today (I had been focusing on the other tracks), and I kinda agree now with John, ascdi, and others that it's more likely a split effort than a collab. Backyard - believable as RDJ Maelstrom - you guys say sounds like SP, and I believe you iyff acid e1 - definitely RDJ cyg x-1 - doesn't really sound like either of them ontrackv2 - definitely sounds like SP to me I think someone else pointed out that cyg x-1 doesn't sound like either, but not sure who. Anyways, I think more than just RDJ and SP were involved.
  18. I've no expertise in this area, but I've been having similar thoughts myself. To hear it satisfactorily, I need to turn it up loud (at least in the car), but it feels pretty close to too loud at that point.
  19. Also, I agree that the EP tracks are harder to pin, so I definitely understand all the speculation. But the Untitled track, that has got to be RDJ so if he's already involved...
  20. Yes! My track titles were messed up; that's what I meant to say.
  21. In order to beat a dead horse...I've been thinking about Steinvord lately. IMO, it's a collaboration between RDJ and Squarepusher. And I wouldn't be surprised if there were other artists involved. More specifically: I feel I have a very good ear for spotting authentic RDJ, and, as others have pointed out (John Ehrlichman), Untitled has got to be him (pure Drukqs era). I'm no Squarepusher expert, but a lot of it sound like him to me (particularly lyff Acid E1); StephenG has championed this. Tom J was curiously cagey about Steinvord in that interview. It's a classic mystery artist Rephlex release. RDJ has been part of other mystery artist collabs (Universal Indicator). In the latest Q Magazine interview, he says "I'll make music with anyone who I'm mates with." Same interview, he admits to doing Tuss (finally) so that people could "hopefully evaluate it without knowing it was" him. Similar topic in recent interviews about preferring anonymous DJ gigs to win the crowd over without any preconceptions. He spends a lot of time on YouTube, apparently. Again in the Q interview, he says no you don't need to get paid if you release music. I recognize nearly all of that is pretty weak evidence, but I've still got a feeeeeeling. Mostly because of Untitled and snippets here and there on other tracks.
  22. I actually enjoy 180db quite a lot. And overall am so excite about the album as a whole. I'm loving it and feeling like I've just started really digging into it, that it has much more yet to offer.
