  1. it's deeply fucking bleak, did u make it to the end yet? I saw the movie first when i was in highschool and was pleasantly surprised by how different the comic was (and also how much more Masonry played a role in the plot). Part of me wants to pick it up again and read it. Have you read anything by Eddie Campbell the artist for From Hell? He did a great series called Bacchus in the mid 90s where the concept is what if the Greek gods were actually real people who in modern times operated like a sleazy incestual mafia ,the center of the story revolves around the Greek god of wine who is super chill and spends most of his time in a bar fraternizing (Cerebus later copied the shit out of this concept in the Guys portion of the book) id put it somewhere in my top 5 favorite comic titles ever. If you are a fan of some of the earlier dark comedy indie comic titles Flaming Carrot or Concrete this is like a better more elaborate /weirder version of that Yeah I finished it. I always overanalyze Alan Moore stuff so I said that for my first read I'd just follow the story and not worry about what lies beneath. I'd say I've only gotten about ten percent of the content.
  2. I finished From Hell by Alan Moore a few hours ago. I enjoyed it, but like with all Alan Moore books I read I found myself over analysing everything on my first read and as a result finding it difficult to just let the story flow. I'll probably analyse it twice as much on my second read. Starting Post Office next to let my brain relax a bit.
  3. Seeing boring, arrogant bastards with exceptional social skills turn their days at home watching Storage Wars and wanking into entertaining stories.
  4. Finally bought From Hell. Digging the artwork but sometimes it seems just a bit too bleak.
  5. Just pointing out that this thread is probably going to reach a million views. That's crazy.
  6. Fuck sake, I'm trying to hold off listening to any of these until after an exam tomorrow. I know what I'm doing for the summer anyway.
  7. Well if he's not enabling downloads to try to increase the play counts maybe some kind of vinyl compilation is on the way?
  8. Turns out I guessed wrong, it's not a Castlevania sample. Still, I got a reply off Aphex Twin - go web 2.0!
  9. I'm pretty sure there's a sample of the 'game saved' sound from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in Medievil Rave Mk2. Some parts of the track have that Castlevania feel too!
  10. The new Samsung ad is the epitome of a stupid first world achievement.
  11. Blood Meridian is just massively overrated; you're doing it right. The book was incredible from what I had read. Tough to read though. It isn't my first McCarthy book so I'm in on his style but it's a tricky book.
  12. I decided to set Blood Meridian down as I don't feel I'm quite ready for it right now. Went Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, just read The Fall of the House of Usher. Twisted.
  13. Ignorant people pissing me off. The other day I was watching an arts show on TV when the person sitting next to me said "They should move this show back to the midnight slot it used to have because nobody actually wants this shit" and then proceeded to laugh, expecting me to laugh with him. The show was about an author named J.P. Donleavy whose first book, The Ginger Man, did very well. I found out watching this show that he has published twenty three books since, to which the same person loudly announced "Yeah, and every one of them is fucking shit." Note that this person has not read a single one of them apart from the famous Ginger Man. I just fucking hate when someone thinks they can say these things when they actually don't know what they're talking about just because their friends share the same ignorant viewpoint. The same goes for people who talk about 'Bob Dylan's bad period' who can't even name the albums or decades they're referring to. Ignorant people with uninformed opinions just drive me crazy.
  14. I wonder if the track he gave to the Lemonheads is in the dump? I'd love to know which track it is.
  15. Not having a free tier is going to kill it too. Only a quarter of Spotify users are premium and I would say with certainty that those people are album oriented listeners who got sick of hitting the usage limits again and. (That's how Spotify works right? Its been ages since I used it). Curious people will sign up to Tidal, get the lossless level and expect stunning levels of quality that ridicules Spotify's standard. But they'll hear no difference and they'll cancel their Tidal subscription. They'll then bad mouth it to their friends. Basically, Tidal is fucked and it's its own fault.
  16. They're making the mistake of thinking that the average listener cares about quality. A lot of people don't even know that there's levels of mp3 quality, never mind FLAC and wavs. The "we're starting a movement" thing is bollocks too.
  17. Just finished an ambient track, with one obvious error near the end that I can't fix because I used FL demo... [sc5]196167572[/sc5]
  18. The dump needs more ten minute tracks. Nine minutes or under is unacceptable.
  19. Right click save as teddy man Thank you so much! Fuck me all this is incredible.
  20. Sorry if this has been posted already but does anybody have Girl/Boy Dark as a single download? I swear I had converted it. C'mon people, just one track until I am complete!
  21. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch - Philip K. Dick It's always the same with Dick for me, the first chapter confuses me absolutely, but then there's some little moment that clicks and I can't stop. Great writer.
  22. Couldn't find a bigger image, but the point still gets across.
  23. The Penetration of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford Django's Unchained Hot Shots!
  24. I don't think Cock Ver. 10 would be as mental without those vocal samples.
  25. The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. This is as immersed as I've ever been in a book, his style of developing his characters is astounding.
