  1. Lots of good stuff on this youtube channel:
  2. Jimmy did a nice in-depth interview on the Tape Notes podcast. Talks a lot about his production process and breaks down some of the tracks on the album. Very cool to hear some of the early modular jams that eventually made it on to the album. https://tapenotes.co.uk/project/tn122-james-blake Here's a clip, talking about Big Hammer:
  3. Opn has a new radio show on NTS called Cool Protrusions. First one was yesterday... https://www.nts.live/shows/opn-again/episodes/opn-again-14th-september-2023
  4. Always excited for new Actress, but my god that cover art is awful
  5. https://euglossine.bandcamp.com/album/bug-planet-is-the-current-timeline Thought this was great and pretty unique. Does this style have a name? It's somewhere between James Ferraro and OPN with a load of old video game soundtracks thrown in. Would love any recommendations of similar stuff. (Also where's the bandcamp player embed feature gone?)
  6. Super excited for this. I struggled with the last two albums but they still had great moments. Think it was really just the autotuned vocals everywhere that took me out of it. That video someone posted in the Replica thread with the sample sources reminded me just how great that album is. Here if anyone missed it. Really inspiring stuff...
  7. On my first listen through at the moment and this is so so good. exov and ripimu are particular highlights so far. Think with the past few releases especially (Fluidity, Fictions, and this) he's landed on something really special and unique.

    AE_Live 2022

Only listened to London B so far. Completely incredible, there's really nothing else like it. Can't wait to dig into the other sets
  9. https://cycling74.com/articles/collaborative-drum-kit-in-max-part-2 They've just put out this sequencer for free. Looks a lot like whatever autechre had in those clips showing their system.
  10. Surprised not to see this mentioned anywhere on the forum. Apparently sean posted some clips of the mythical System on his Mastodon (twitter alternative). There are two short jams and a picture of what looks like a compressor. Don't know how to link the videos directly so will have to link to the reddit posts: Aside from being pretty interesting to see, the jams are nice. Would like more clarinet in the future.
  11. Hey! Amazing, I didn't know you were on watmm. I still listen to this record all the time, and also your previous releases. Really great stuff. Looking forward to whatever you do next!
  12. The composition's very elastic, often it's hard to disentangle different elements from each other so distinctions between rhythmic, melodic and textural elements is blurred. The sound design is very natural, everything sounds like it's breathing or whining or coughing or something. Feels completely "off-the-grid", not at all tied to the piano roll. I read that the guy uses max/msp, so that makes sense. Also it's just very playful and funky, unlike a lot of experimental stuff. Hard to describe really. There's just a very specific itch that autechre scratches, and as soon as I heard the second track on that it was a similar thing.
  13. Incredible album that hits on a lot of what I love about ae. Tracks 2 and 5 are particularly great
  14. Way up at the top level on the right. I was a little worried about it as they were some of the last seats available, but thought it sounded great. Also with the set itself, I caught many glimpses of both ecol4 and glos ceramic in there. There was a lovely bit maybe around 15 mins in where those glassy descending synth stabs that dominate the second half of glos ceramic came drifting in but in a completely different context to the track. It was so nice. Then it felt like elements of ecol4 popped up all over the set. Two of my favourite tracks from the last few records so was really great catching hints of them here and there.
  15. Went to the first set at the Barbican last night. Completely incredible. Relentlessly brutal with moments of real beauty. Every "track" full of so much creativity and the transitions were done really well. Felt like a proper coherent hour of music despite the variety in each section. Also thought the soundsystem was really good, loads of clarity in the sound. Absolutely loved it, can't wait to listen to the soundboards.
  16. This might already well known but was news to me. A ton of samples from this are in deco Loc Right down to that little smash sound at 0:19, which appears at 3:00 in deco Loc (one of my favourite moments on the record). Thought this was really cool. Found by someone on the autechre subreddit
  17. New Odd Ned album came out yesterday and it's really nice. Check it out:
  18. I absolutely love this album. Wish I had something more insightful to say, but honestly I'm just so happy that this music exists
  19. Thank you so much @digit and @IOS for all the work you put into this! It sounds incredible! Also thanks to @jules for the wonderful artwork!
  20. Really phenomenal stuff, Ae truly are the greatest. It is quite unbelievable how much incredible and unique music they've given us over the years, and they just keep adding to the pile
