Fuckin amazing. Only listened to elseq 1 so far. Completely mind-blowing stuff, how these guys keep one upping themselves so consistently is just ridiculous. Absolutely love the long form, evolving style, and some of the most alien sounds i've ever heard. Sounds like i'm listening to some huge alien parade lol. The space in the mix is crazy as well, so many different elements all at once and yet everything feels so clear and uncluttered.

We may revise the nature of this space, making it a support group, with attention not only to patients but also to families. The most ambitious goal would be a genuine reintegration into society, where the individual can discover their potential through an active job and a rewarding and defined role in human relations. the first step, no doubt, will be the Quaristice set, in the AE_STORE. lol

wait i'm baffled. i'm still only seeing the 10 tracks that were there earlier today ?

Autechre Autechre - Oversteps (WARP210) [The MegaThread]
misc replied to Friendly Foil's topic in Autechre
I have also thought of it in those terms, good to know i'm not alone that should have been asked about in AAA imo. also been listening to the album a lot these days someone sort of asked something like: "are there any tracks or albums that are just one of you? like - 'hey you write this one and i'll write the next one' if not would ever consider doing that?" answer was something like: "if there was we wouldn't tell but who's to say we haven't done that already" I just had a look and when asked if any of the tracks are solo sean said: "yeah tons of our tracks are solo tracks, usually trying to one up each other about 1/3 of it is non-solo, as a really approximate guess i dunno we just compete a lot, that seems to work for us, ymmv of course" -
Yeah i quite like the stop/start stuff though. The set is definitely a weird one. I'm guessing it was intentional though, instead of gear problems, considering they chose to release it.

The money that Warp makes from a new album from one of their labels staple acts which they can promote and sell physical copies of guarantees that a new album (EP/whatever) will be on its way at some point in the not-too-far future. I hadn't actually thought of this. The fact that Warp's hardly mentioned AE_LIVE does suggest this isn't the album. Either way i'm completely satisfied if it is. Still absolutely immersed in this stuff and only just scratching the surface of the newer five.

not to be party pooping, but i wouldn't get my hopes up. they stated in a recent interview that this set was conceived with a release in mind, which obviously wasn't the case in the past... but who knows? Yeah I know, I'm not. I'd love to check out that interview if you have a link to it though. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-autechre-20151119-story.html

Damn, starts getting real weird about 10 mins from the end of grafenhainijsjhdichen, really slow and swampy, kind of reminds of the end of deco loc Also i'm sure i recognise those vocal stabs (dunno what to call them) throughout that bit as well, have they used them before in a track? I just can't put my finger on it, sounds like a crowd or something

As much as i'd like more ae in any situation and i agree on the physical copy, i'm completely content with these as the main release. I've been listening to the first four so much that i've kind of sectioned them off into different subsections e.g. i think krakow is a lot more linear and straight, whereas utrecht is far more abstract and brussels is just so fucking funky. So it's like having a single release that i can then cater to the mood i'm in, which is an amazing concept that i've not experienced before, and will without doubt increase the longevity of the release. And besides, this is by far my favourite overall sound style that ae have adopted. Completely out of this world. I've been having a hard time listening to other stuff recently, cause it all just pales in comparison to this. All other electronic music sounds like it was made at a computer, but this just sounds natural, and real, not like someones sat down and programmed it but like it's formed on its own and is then morphed and warped of it's own accord, constantly shifting and evolving into something new. fuck i dunno what i'm saying i just love this so much

dude you've got a lot to look forward to if you're just entering the world of ae and weed. I often find i'll hear elements of tracks while stoned, that i've never noticed before, and then forever after that i can always pick that element out when sober. It can sometimes open up entirely new sides to tracks, that will then stick with you forever.

I keep thinking how much the repeated droney sound in the background of utrecht around 38:27 sounds like a sample of music from the Alien trailer. It first comes in at 37:40 pitched down but starts sounding really like it at 38:27, and i immediately think of Alien every time i here it. Pretty sure it's in the other sets as well. This trailer btw, around 1:00 -

I wish i could move in the direction ae has, but i just have no fucking clue how they did any of this

Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete
misc replied to canzoniere vaticano's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Haven't been keeping up with the thread so it's probly been said before but the vocals from 2:50 in Freaky Eyes sound sooo much like the vocals in Returnal. As soon as they morph into that it's like being shot straight back into returnal but with completely different context, so lush, definitely my favourite part of this album- 1,361 replies

Yeah not gonna lie man the more i look at ableton, the more appealing it becomes. It just makes logic look so clunky, especially in terms of linking with max. Downloading the free trial now, excited to give it a go.
