  2. i wouldn't bother with the first AssCreed. Brotherhood was great. i never played 2 but hear 2/Brotherhood were the peak.

beerwolf - i rec I Am Legend currently reading Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage pretty standard Murakami affair. most of the way through and not a lot has happened.
  4. i've joined the current gen and got myself a PS4. currently playing rocket league (lots of) and have started Nioh. not 100% sure how i feel about Nioh yet but rocket league is a 10/10
  5. yeah that looks real nice. kinda wish it was a fresh IP though, i thought we were seeing something new until the name popped up.
  6. i thought Xbox looked pretty good in their conference. tons of games shown, hopefully some of them actually get released. i remember thinking they looked pretty good when they announced XB1 but most of those games still haven't came out! i still don't have a current gen console but i've recently brought Forza Motorsport 4 on xb360 which is very, very nice and super satisfying to play.
  7. lmao i knew you would post weeks down the line saying it was okay. this is the cycle you have every Actress thread
  8. i save my Mac for music duties and don't have anything else that could play it. for now i'm happy to enjoy it with my bud when i see him, but i might get a Switch in the future so fingers crossed it gets a port for that.
  9. XB1, PS4 and PC i tink. i can't afford a new console anyway. at home i'm playing Mega Man 2 (dl from Wii U eShop). never got into Mega Man besides various non-mainline entries but i'm enjoying it, might pick up a couple of he others.
  10. i played Rocket League at a friend's a couple of times recently and i fuckin love it. playing this was the 1st time i've wanted a PS4, but getting one is a hell of an expensive way to play 1 game.
  11. i thought Guardians of the Galaxy (1) was one of the better marvel/super hero films in recent times, though i haven't returned to it since i saw it in the cinema and don't plan to.
  12. there are so many reasons labels are hugely beneficial. they promote the artists, they are a network to other artists, management, venues and most importantly >>>LISTENERS<<<. they can sort out press, distribution, branding, financing and all the other boring business stuff most musicians don't want to worry about. just being a good musician isn't enough to make it as everybody knows, and a label or some other form of management is essential for 99% of musicians.
  13. This. You probly just trying too hardi'm exaggerating, though you are right. i do try hard, but that's because it's so important to me. when i'm not making music i'm thinking about it and dedicating so much energy towards it burns me out. even though it is frustrating and exhausting i love the whole process and it endlessly interests me.
  14. you're not alone. music making is 90% self loathing and stress, 10% enjoyment and relief for me.
  15. i'm still loving AZD, it's got me hooked !! Nimbus is like digital raindrops on an alien planet ... it sets such a nice scene for the rest of the album
  16. i voted No and I'm not a robot
  17. The Handmaiden (Park Chan-Wook) not sure it needed to be as long as it was, but otherwise very good. one intense scissoring scene/10
  18. the Peak sounds amazing to me, though if that is the price it has loads of competition and out of my price range. that reverb was probably the nicest i've heard built into a synth.

fin: The Drowned World (J.G. Ballad) this was disappointing. a nice idea but poor execution. flat characters, too much repetition and a waste of a good world. begin: The Outsider (Albert Camus)
  20. please fuck off, lopez. you take every opportunity to shit on Actress and you take other people's enjoyment of his music so offensively lmao i don't think you need to explain why you like an artist and music can be much more subtle, not everything will conjure powerful emotions and images but i'll try to play your game anyway for me his music is just the right side of unusual. it's loopy and repetitive enough to be hypnotic but adventurous enough to be interesting and he has definitely defined a 'sound' for himself. for me there's a distinct british and urban vibe i get from the music in the same way as an artist like Burial (who's probably his closest contemporary). the music reminds me of getting hella blunted with friends and listening to music in cars as a teen, listening to the music through a thick haze both literally (h0t bOxiNg daT sHiT faM) and mentally. the dude himself is very odd which gives some interest and mystique to the music as well. he clearly has strong concepts and ideas for his albums and as pieces his albums hold together well both together and separately. unity in albums is something important when it comes to me liking an artist and he achieves it well, even though his music is so fractured and variable. on a basic level his music has a lot of things i enjoy hearing; noise, 4x4 kicks, vocal samples, buried sounds and melodies etc. like i said a page back or so he's only just clicked for me recently. i thought he was decent but overrated, nothing more. sometimes you just don't see what others do in music (or any art form) and sometimes you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  21. the core of this album is so strong. the run from Blue Window to Falling Rizlas is amazing
