The Crossing is fucking amazing. Hit me so hard, maybe not for everyone, but it's the best of his I've yet read (not many tho) I've heard good about the Book of the New Sun series or whatever. You liked the first two I guess if you're reading the others? BotNS is really good. the writing is much better than 99.99% of fantasy.

i actually read that one first too, not sure why i did ... (though I've read all 3 now) they aren't connected directly by plot, more by ideas and recurring themes throughout the three books. it's a fairly challenging read anyway, but it won't be much more difficult to understand if you haven't read the first. i highly recommend reading the first book either before or after this, though; it's one of my favourites, if not my favourite.

re-reading The Place Of Dead Roads (Burroughs) at the moment also reading The Crossing (McCarthy) recently finished Book 1 and 2 of Book of the New Sun. Books 3/4 arrived recently so they'll probably be next up.

no vinyl version of The Station? or is the bleep page for it just messed up. edit: saw above post. I'm glad they aren't releasing two EPs at the same time, saves me some money. Looks like warp/bleep messed up the advertising of the whole thing though.

picked up my pre-ordered today. the cards look lush, so it's a bit of a shame they aren't higher quality. i wonder how the other ones will be released. yet again OPN releases an absolute doozy of a record. it hit me immediately on listen which GOD didn't, but i'm already looking forward to diving in further with re-listening. another 10/10 AOTY from OPN

anyone a fan of Robotic Empire (the label)? one of my favourite and most respected labels. a lot of their bands were my formative bands when i was a teen. metal, hardcore, screamo, all that good stuff. Thou just released a new album with them. it's a pretty difficult record to get into, but well worth it. top band. been re-listening to their joint records with The Body recently . . . absolutely fuckin killer work! also im wasted right now. is there any better music to listen to than heavy metal when you're absolutely fucked? my girlfriend doesn't agree and neither do my neighbors but fuck em l o l
