the game gets more fun as you unlock more gadgets/weapons. you aren't given much at the beginning.MGS V: Phantom Pain
Been so long since I played any MGS, can't remember any stories or anything really, but pretty impressed with it so far. Haven't quite got the stealth part of it yet, even from far away they seem to know where I am even using a silenced sniper.

the loadout screen sometimes has takes time to load (with a loading screen) and sometimes goes straight to it (no loading screen) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
load load load load load

yeah i'm finding a lot of the game frustrating. the menu system is trash, it's way more confusing than it should be. the loading times are the worst i've seen in a game (and there are SO MANY. the game loads initially... press A to continue... another loading screen... once you select a game mode you're treated to TWO different loading screens before you get in a game. there's even a loading screen when QUITTING?? wtf)
the grind for weapons etc is obviously to get people to pay for the items instead
i don't understand why there isn't an option to adjust or at least look at your load outs whilst on the loading screen
that said the game itself is (mostly) pretty good once you get in a match

Battlefield is doing a great job at not explaining anything. i spent yesterday playing online and hardly gained any XP or money, so i googled to see what was up and apparently it's because i hadn't downloaded the expansion packs. i was playing the maps but not gaining anything for it. downloaded em today (i brought the premium version or whatever) and i'm now actually leveling up. annoying.
is there any way to try out/preview weapons before purchasing them? i have no idea what anything is but don't want to spend my hard earned shekels on something i don't want.
-
i brought Battlefield today too. put the disk in and it started a 7 hour download v____v
-
i recommend it if you like Tales RPGs. i haven't played any since Vesperia but apparently this is the best since.
-
i finally finished Tales of Beseria... only took me around 75 hours. whew.
i need a casual multiplayer game to play for a while. something that won't take all of my free time for the next month. anyone played the new Call a Doody?

Wind-Up Bird Chronicles is definitely the best i've read so far. i haven't read Kafka so i might pick that one up next.
What of his have you read? This is my 3rd after Wind-Up Bird Chronicles and Kafka on the Shore, so you probably have a broader perspective than me on this.funny you say that because i think Murakami is the most inconsistent writer i've read.
i've read:
1Q84 (up to book 3)
Wind-Up Bird
Sputnik Sweetheart
Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki
South of the Border, West of the Sun
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running (non fiction)
oh and I've seen the film Tony Takitani. i don't think it's that well known but i really liked it

i've just finished All The Pretty Horses (Cormac McCarthy). it was pretty slow going in parts, though others were great. it took me a while to get through. i've picked up the 2nd in the trilogy (The Crossing) but i think i'll leave that for another time. decided on something short (Animal Farm) to go next.

seeing Every Time I Die tonight. it's been a few years since i last saw em so i'm f0kin psyched !! best live band around. going to be some good headbanging, stage invading, crowd surfing mayhem.
-
fuck whoever laid into jacquard causeway
-
i was actually pretty let down by Pallbearer's newest album. i was so psyched for it too.
might give it another go tomorrow, see if i feel the same about it.
-
the devs pump out updates very regularly and it has a competitive "esports" scene so i don't see the game falling out of popularity any time soon, if ever.is anyone getting Rocket League for Switch? Cross platform play will be cool, just wondering if there will be a sustained player base for an older game, warranting the purchase.
-
Heartwork is so good i find it difficult to listen to their other albums
-
i found him through Stairfoot Lane Bunker which i really enjoyed but i haven't been that into anything else of his. i'll give this a go tomorrow.
-
yeah, that's the band. they have a big 90s alt rock/grunge inspired sound but also have some sabbathy riffs and occasionally pull out something thrashier. the vocalist sounds like Billy Corgan despite being from London.
on another note Converge's new album released today and it is fucking KILLER
-
yeah Puppy supported. cool band, hadn't heard of them before. the drummer was really good.
-
unexpected but amazing news!
-
a local artist gallery put on a screening of The Love Witch recently which was really good. funny as hell.

i'm so happy Krallice are releasing 2 records. the Bandcamp player works like shit on my phone so i'll have to wait til it's released on Spotify to hear this one though
@jader - yellow eyes are great dude i highly rec you give em a chance
also Kvelertak were INSANE last night. honestly one of the best bands i've seen. they played for an hour and a half and the set they curated was perfect
i'm suffering a serious bangover today and lost my earplugs in the pit but it was worth it
-
i'm seeing Kvelertak on Sunday (n____n)\m/
-
thanks for the heads up on the new Yellow Eyes, I had no idea it existed! noice.
-
that dying and turning to a Zombie you can face off against thing has already been done in Zombie U. it was pretty cool though.
that AC game actually looks pretty fully fleshed for a mobile game.
-
that's being nice about it
