zin2 test5 omc ma2 from the new EP and matriarch test 3+ from the recent soundcloud drop are the two best tracks i've heard post Syro. This adds nothing to the convo but just felt the need to say that, thats all.

feeling this. zin2 also seems like it has more bits waiting to get unleashed as a longer version at a show. It bangs.

  3. I still have a Avril 14th mix up. I mirrored it with the backwards written release he posted in the dump, reversed, and then played slightly after. It creates a kiss off effect of sorts. Anyway I like it, I am surprised they have not taken it down yet.

Or the cyroclont1000 mashup from the 6.9. tracks on the album. I did not make this mashup. Someone here did, I just re-uploaded them to my account. Still there. WITH DOWNLOAD LINK TURNED ON.

  4. So today Soundcloud began placing ads into listening sessions for desktop users. They put this in practice in the past for a bit to encourage PRO account and GO account subscription sales. But then they took it away for the free desktop user accounts. As of yesterday they put it back in play. I have found so many artists from WATMM through desk job day listening and playlist making on soundcloud. Was hoping I could get some suggestions for replacement sites with free all access listening ability accounts for desktop use. Or everyone's favorite spot. I have enjoyed making mixes and discovering all you beautiful bastards amazing work.

I know this forum offers plenty to sift through, but soundcloud will still have people upload raw, quick, wip takes the moment they really want to hear a spit out. I love stumbling onto that stuff (also yes, i check the WIP tab all the time) and I figure aside from getting private clyp links from friends there is no better place for that type of sifting. Thoughts?

The part before this section sounds like a  bouncing ball reaching entropy when finally it creates the illusion of a MTACH striking setting fire to the whole bouncing ball activitysection that morphs into a tigers roar. THEN reprises with the part above. Anyone else getting that? If its in the thread I missed it.

  6. Yeah that's the one I wanna hunt for too - Like an super minimal version of a JMJ track from the 70s. Love the sound of a slow phasing VP330 (or whatever String Synth it is)

Could have sworn someone identified this one.

  7. Dang guys.

I guess I'm gonna have to leave the hysteria behind. I read the thread like a digest and it seems like I definitely got the right files based on everybody's descriptions and I was profoundly underwhelmed. I know this is heresy and I'll leave this hype machine thread as it rolls thunderously on. Pretty stoked to get Houston and Primavera but I'm definitely glad that I resisted the special edition cash grab if we're talking pure Aphex quality and not fetishism.

    Wew lads.

pthex is my fav. I hate when people say “it’s a grower”.... it’s a grower.

  8. i'm calling it. this will be the best 4-track ep he's ever released. t69 + primavera track combo is just too good.

I see the Field Day track have been identified? But where was the primavera track identified as possibly appearing on the Collapse EP?

  9.

Not to be pretentious but Aphex like this is what I've been waiting for since like.. I don't know... Smojface EP.

There's a spirit that feels like it's returned here, of course in a new light, Syro, Orphans, Cheetah, are amazing but didn't satisfy that headfuck element that some of his earlier stuff has. This does- while still being musical and smooth. An excellent fusion of styles. Only listened once and I can tell it's gonna get better with each listen.

i think i know what you mean, that feeling was there on syro a bit. xmas_evet and marchrom have that classic afx vibe more than anything else for me, in terms of recent releases at least. it's coming in full force on collapse though for sure

I remember flipping out at Day For Night when T69 was played in the rain. I had no idea what was going on. Figured it was an aphex track, but had no real idea. It was just chaos and yet obviously totally controlled. The video component, seeing all the stuff I saw on those big stage screens kind of culled together, and added to with extreme intensity for a flattened out version, with a specific vision; just blew me away. guess I should be on the video thread. But this was more about hearing the song for the first time and feeling totally fucking fulfilled upon viewing the video. And sort of feeling the same way about it having that mind fuck element I really love about past work. To me this track is like hearing Bucephalus Bouncing Ball for the first time. It just kind stopped me dead in my trax. This has a similar syncopation style and rhythmic structure in the break down and is quite astonishing to hear upon multiple listens in a row.

Can someone identify Forgotten Life Path's soundcloud title? I do not remember it from the batch and I listened back through everything this week while working and I couldn't identify it anywhere. Help.

    AFAIK that one is new

Thats what I thought. Someone here mentioned it was in the batch, but they couldn't remember the name.

Have always been of the opinion the RDJ Album (with bonus tracks) was the best RDJ release. CTD and ODJ additions make these two releases my favorite (atm).
