Surprised this UChoob channel isn't getting more attention!
  3. I'll admit he does make it seem pretty woo-woo, but fashionable anti-intellectualism doesn't shed much light. "It's something I could not possibly understand, let's dismiss it, validated due to the fact he's trolling" But his cryptic wording doesn't really seem to make it universally accessible/understandable.
  4. Here is one of my own tracks that I think might fit into this category. Big whomping kick drums under expansive synthetic skies. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/totality-different This track maybe loosely fits the description but has similar resonation: https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/ashland-orange-line

  8. New Ambient Album: "Mon Dec 4 5 07 PM 000." Atmospheric envelopes cradled by ambient landscapes, dappled sweet, thin melodies like childhood memories pour through. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/mon-dec-4-5-07-pm-001 https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/papas-voice https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/mon-dec-4-5-07-pm-003 https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/mon-dec-4-5-07-pm-004 https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/mon-dec-4-5-07-pm-005
  9. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/the-beauty-of-sound_granular-synth-papa-voice So I've upgrade to Reason10 and along with it came a tremendous, orgasmic, granular synthesizer. Here is one of my first experiments. The original sample is a voicemail from my sweet Papa, demonstrating the fantastic capability of granular synthesis to turn even the most non-musical samples into pads of pure wonder.
  10. My first audial exploration using the fully equipped Propellerhead Software Reason 9.5 as well as my precious KORG Monologue synthesizer. A mixture of abrasive, sharp sounds and smooth, wide samples from user18081971. If you can name any of the user18081971 samples used in this track you are more than likely a massive Aphex Twin nerd like myself, and, I will also give you a free download of this track.. Best track I've yet to conceive in my own humble opinion. In terms of musical creativity and overall EQ, my previous catalogue of tracks simply don't measure up. A deceivingly simple and illuso
  11. Wow the production quality is incredible, sounds exactly like I'm sitting with my head next to an 808; wouldn't change anything, love the arrangement and extended chords, sounds are masterfully obfuscated for that now-you-hear-it-now-you-don't sensibility. Love the nice short length, leaves me wanting more! Thank you for your honest input! It is encouraging. Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for your constructive criticism, I consider myself a student and understand that many wise souls lurk these channels, so I really appreciate your feedback.
  12. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/korg-monologue-reason-95-first-jam The first analogue synthesizer I've ever purchased was a Korg Monologue. I am infantile in my understanding of MIDI but am voracious for learning. This was my first successful MIDI to DAW dance jam! Using hardware can be so freeing and tactile, a very beautiful creative process indeed. That being said I hope you enjoy my first experiment using Analogue as well as digital musical electronic audio machines.
  13. On basic television here in the states, MTV2 would play the music video late night at 2-3am, as a child it scared the absolute fuck out of me and had to switch the channel.. Of course now it's Afx4Life!
  14. Inspiration strikes at surprising moments, when the light bulb flashes, the rest is history. Listen for the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) samples embedded in this tune. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/ashland-orange-line Countless, countless hours spent crafting this track. The creation of this track was a mixture of pitfalls requiring tedious compositional revisions to harmonious, inconceivable synchronicities. Even now I feel there was never a real sense of resolve with this piece, at some point I just had to stop and let it go... "YEEAAASSSS!!!!!" https://soundcloud.com/helios

Just listened to both versions in a row and there are definite improvements in ver 2. Rhythmically the drums are more interesting to listen to in a loop. Also waiting to introduce the hats/ride gives the track more of a peak. I really like the distortion happening in the voices/snare and feel it's a great part of the tracks identity.
  16. A couple of spontaneous compositions. Inspired after viewing the 2017 solar eclipse in southern Illinois here in the States, these tracks came to be almost overnight.. Let me know what you think of the EQ in particular, I feel that's where I need the most help. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/totality-different https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/gems

Graphite on some type of acetate. Made in 2011..
  18. https://soundcloud.com/helioscence/good-morning-paul The melding and remolding of essentially two separate tracks that just needed to interconnect. This track is the result of months of experimentation and the culmination of nearly 5 years of working within a digital audio workstation. I hope you find the same love, hope and intention that poured into this track.
  19. I've been really enjoying this output! Great job everyone, looking forward to getting caught up on all the episodes..
