  1. Don't be a cunt, it's the man's wife you're talking about. Show some fucking respect.
  2. Maybe you were being sarcastic but in the case that you weren't, RDJ has said that he doesn't multitrack when he records. He sequences everything and just hits record on whatever he's using, DAT/laptop/hard disk recorder/etc, then hits play on the sequencer. He records everything straight to a stereo two-track.
  3. I found this a good while back, and it was said to have been a picture of the bank before it was destroyed and replaced. Dunno if it's true.
  4. Scratch my post just above this one, I found Player Pro for Mac OS X. 4th entry on this page: https://woolyss.com/tracking-trackers.php?s=Mac On 2nd thought, I wonder if Rich would upload the complete Vord session for us to tinker with? Pretty please, Rich :)
  5. Is there no version of Player Pro available that will run on today's Mac OS X?
  6. Holy FUCK! on very first listen, [s770/SCI 3000,powertran] beautiful Japanese people instantly became one of my all time faves!! Yeah, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that's going to take a very close look at what's happening during that playback.
  7. 12:38 PST 00:14:31:00 relevant: the pitfalls of programming for time zones
  8. I just tried this and you're right, it works!
  9. I think he makes music just because he enjoys doing it (based on sheer # of tracks recorded). Everything else is just him having a laugh or taking the piss, IMHO. OP, I enjoyed reading your treatise. I too am really glad to see him come back around and share a bit of himself with us lately. It was an amazing surprise to see it all start to happen in 2014.
  10. This is what got my spidey sense tingling. This smells like pre-release promo.
  11. wow, really great! detailed and nuanced!
  12. I think Warp still owns the name Aphex Twin? So I doubt they'd let Rich use it whenever he wants. Who knows though, maybe they're chilll about it now not true. RDJ owns the name.
  13. aDiscoBall, Would you please upload all those stuff you seem to have in your file manager photo?? (Torrent, or anything... ) It would be very nice to have these in one place for other people like me. Yeah, I can do that when I feel like I have all there is to get. I'll link to it here when it happens.
  14. hah! 25 Chairs is a bit of a chuckle. I did miss that Norwegian interview, but someone posted that one a few posts up. Thanks!
  15. thanks! will dig the bits out of it. keep 'em coming!
  16. I don't think I've heard that one. There's lot of talk about his 'tank' and wanting to buy a submarine in the Space Age Bachelor Pad interview on youtube. actually, that's one of the better interviews out there. RDJ seems to enjoy talking to this kid.
  17. Did he gave an interview for Syro? I read a good handful of interviews for Syro (including the Syrobonkers interview and big Pitchfork feature), but none of them were audio or video. In the interviews I've accumulated so far, he's pretty good at answering interviewers' questions with complete thoughts, so my plan is to use his voice to tell the story.
  18. Hello everybody. I've been a (largely inactive) member around here on/off for a couple years**. Recently, I discovered several audio interviews on youtube with RDJ that I had not heard before, including the KCRW - Morning Becomes Eclectic interview, which was the impetus for this project. I am a part-time filmmaker/film editor, and I'm interested to put together a short documentary (10-15 min) using only stuff I can scrounge up on the internet. I'm certain I'd never be given the chance to interview RDJ, but I think I can put together a compelling look at the man using only found footage. Below is a list of what I've been able to acquire so far. If you have any leads on any other audio (or even video) interviews, could you please post them in this thread? Thanks for your attention! ** I realize my user info says "New Member." I assume it says that because I just renewed my membership. I've been lurking for close to 4 years, and have posted the last ~1.5 years.
  19. I know what you mean. just hearing him say that everything is recorded live blew my mind and everything about the way I imagined he works. but he did say that he uses a lot of program changes, so each new sound doesn't necessarily mean a new synth. also, in the Syrobonkus interview he talks about sequencing/programming an EQ matrix, saying it's tedious as fuck. as I gather more and more info, it seems like it's possible, but an insane proposition for someone that's not a genius/autistic. I have since changed the way I produce my own music, basically doing live takes as well. it is more satisfying than piecing everything together in a DAW.
  20. Fairly provocative thing to say twice in just a few days, but you have me curious at least. I don't know this rx101 music from Erik. Can you please provide a link so I can hear it?
