  1. The title is an anagram of 'ne geskon today', so named after the conversation tween rarb and stan when booting up the maxbox.

rarb: we do nu autekka today sam?

    steam: ne. geskon today, ralf

I received an update yesterday I think, but mine is still showing 8 voice polyphony. Is yours showing 12?

Dang, no you're absolutely correct - Still says 'Voices 0/8' and maxes out at 8/8....

I noticed that despite Robert Henke's documentation stating that Granulator III has a fixed 12-voice polyphony, it's actually currently limited to 8.

I emailed him asking about it, and within 10 mins he responded saying that's deffo a bug and they'll get it sorted. Nice one, Bobbo

Looks like the update has now been rolled out :ok:

I have 2 copies of this on vinyl, still listen to it on CD or on my phone, the 1977 (label) vinyl repress from a few years back without stone in focus is dubious, its so crackly, I barely played my copy and it sounds like it was used as a frisbee, thought I had lost my warp copy and found it, sounds much better, the crackling on the sire 1977 version actually sounds OK to my ears but if you didn't want it you can't ignore it, not sure what contraption they pressed it on

This one became my definitive version when it was out there. All the tracks (and more) in tippedytoppedy dark and dank quality

I guess we’ll have to install to a different path on c drive or the same as 11? Sorry for being a noob.

Maybe I’ll just uninstall 11 first

By default A11 will be in C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Suite

    and A12 in C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite

I'd maybe install 12 first then remove 11 later in case it loses your preferences

edit: @ignatius beat me to it !

edit2: Loading up Ableton just now and I've 26 more packs to update, looks like they were busy today 😄

the 12 beta and 11 beta and 11 release version all install separately and are each available for use.

I was thinking Yek meant installing the 12 (release) installer over the 11 (release) version (the address for which 'got out' yesterday evening, before it was officially available in the accounts page just now)

    So just install over previous?

On mine (windows machine) it seems to have kept 11, grabbed my preferences, default template and installed packs & user library and used them for a new 12 install. So currently I have both but will no doubt uninstall 11 tomorrow

Wooo finally got the released version installed. But no updated manual yet 😞

Just downloaded and installed too - Cpu fan currently spinning at a billion rpm indexing everything.

I hope they make the migration as convenient as possible. I'm lazy, and not particularly interested in configuring my "studio" setup again.

When I've moved from previous versions (8->9->10->11 over the last however many years it was) all I'd do is run the new install and it'd ask if I wanted to overwrite the previous install or create a second install. Just hit overwrite and .... that was it !

@oscillik - Is the tagging system manual or does it use some kind of sound recognition (or online/downloadable database file) to tag things ? Over the past 10 or so years my VST/i collection has become a little unweildy so it's be great if I could just click on filters like 'synth -> physical modelling', 'compressor->tube', 'distortion->waveshaper' or something like that !

Pete, a much longer recording of that is in the VPRO show. Tried to ID it but no luck!

You bet I tried shazammin' that one (9/9/94 ?) when I came across it 😄 Tried to work out if the acoustics in the very first bit of Just a Fucking Idiot are the same as that (i.e. are from the same 'gig') and/or whether the brass player is the same as the one in Far Out Son Of Lung .....

(seemed to remember going down a (dead end) rabbit hole with Dominic Glover (trumpet player and did brass arrangement of Mello Hippo) seeing that he played in the James Taylor Quartet which sounds like the sort of band name that the end bit of An End of Sorts would come from and apparently he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in the late 80’s/ early 90’s so could've come across Brian and Garrie back then ... a completely unsubstantiated google session that went nowhere 😄 )
