  1. Yeah, I don't have the time to build my own system. I'm hoping for max around £1500 including basic monitor, keyboard/mouse, amazing cpu and large ssd basically. Monitors/gear I already have. Just want to get it asap really
  2. I've been looking into buying a prebuilt desktop system/paying a company to do a custom build. I'm also on the hunt for a new audio interface/monitor too so I'm looking at bundles. Any tip offs as best place to look/UK based companies? Been looking at this as an ideal situation https://www.inta-audio.com/pc-builder/select_base#selected_unit_4 And the company seems decent. I'm currently running a laptop with an old i7 and 4gb ram and cpu gets maxed out by like 1 or 2 max devices/vsts. I've got an opportunity to finally buy a proper system but I suppose I don't know really what chip/ssd is actually ideal in 2020. All help appreciated
  3. Just to emphasize. I'd already sort of fallen in love with it BUT it only recently really ''clicked''. I think I basically use it as how I understand ambient techno to be.
  4. Kind of agree that if the whole album was like the second half this would Ben instabuy for me. Don't get me wrong I think this is excellent but when that kind of vocal thing ain't your bag...I just would be happy with the instrumentals. I adore Replica so the second half was lovely.
  5. To be fair, I don't actually have a tape deck to play the tape back perfectly so I may just opt for the fuscia exclusive and find a HQ rip of the tape instead. Are they offering 88 as a HQ digital rip?
  6. Interestingly was at two record stores yesterday with the intention of buying this hopefully with the 88 cassette bundles with it; it's only being sold without in shops from what I saw..think I better buy the bundle online before it sells out...was tempted by the pinkish vinyl available too but can't find that online now...
  7. Yeah I'm enjoying this. Not heard in entirety but it's properly wonky and spaced out in places in true Actress style. Getting Andy Stott vibes with the female vocals.
  8. Well I just listened to Replica start to finish and it's utterly sublime in places. If this is anything like that then count me in.
  9. I shit you not I think I was watching a UFO in the sky yesterday in Moseley, Birmingham, UK. I told myself it was a bird/drone and walked away though. Wish I had a telescope. Felt like a dick staring up into the sky for so long to be honest! It kind of looked like two 3D cubes which were rectangular in shape but one of those rectangles was rotating within the other. It was fucking strange to be honest..I just kind of told myslef it was a drone and walked off. Weird. And I don't even sort of consider myslef to believe in all this either! haha! Anyway.
  10. I know this is probably blasphemy to post this here as we all know it's an amzing piece of art BUT I'm just totally falling in love with it past few days. You know when you sort of don't bother listening to something as much as you ''know it'' so well and sort of ''know'' it's amazing but then come back to it and realise it's actually more than what you thought. What struck me yesterday is just how amazingly subtle all the arragement changes are but also how sort of playful those decisions are. Like it's kind of childlike in it's execution of automation etc - a bit cheeky but also so conciously arranged. Just stunning. I love the acid transition to Green Calx but I also find it a bit too jarring. It's like there's these weird evil tracks kind of mixed into the lushness. Either way, just absolutelt amazing.
  11. Just a shout out to anyone that would like to create something for me. I'm not all that artisitic/have the time to actually compose what I'd like to do but I see it as an art piece/painting I think. It was following an amazing, what I feel to be mystical experience I had. It was really beautiful and I'd like to see if I could get it drawn by someone who has the skills. Give me a shout if interested! I think I'd also be prepared to pay for its creation too as long as it's not too much £££!
  12. Cheers Actress. And thanks everyone for chasing this up. I'd forgotten about this a while back so delighted to hear he's dropped anything new. Long term big fan here :)
  13. I know this may not have been your goal but I'm getting Monolake Ghosts like vibes in your pads and drums..very cool..I approve.
  14. Really worried this is all VERY WRONG for UK. Major second wave worries. NHS is still in recovery...think we've lifted lockdown FAR too early. Will be carnage tomorrow night with pubs opening.
  15. This is probably more of a boring choice but I actually think that an ice cold Camden Helles is lush.
  16. I ADORE Opeth. Totally disagree.
  17. Haha, I just want to make beautiful emotive sounds really. That still sounds far too complex for me. Good on you tho I bet it's very fun!
  18. You lost me there about half way through but I see what you mean generally. I suppose I'm still sort of of the opinnion that melody should drive everything rather than an electronic device generates an idea. I get it though as I love synths as well right but it just seems more like melody is being created more randomly/weirdly in that sense rather than like in the way that say Johnny Marr would watch a scene from a film and suddenly be inspired to fuck around on the guitar and find chord sequences that evoke feeling - like chasing melody that way more musically rather than it being generated by circuitry. I get it tho as you can obviously come up with stuff that the human brain wouldn't be able to traditionally conceive of.
