I've been listening to this for years now although I can't find the original upload anymore.. great track 🙂

Balla had it up as Unknown artist a few weeks before Dave showed signs of life on the internet and announced the Welcome 2LP. Balla said in a chatroom on some show he was on he had a short convo with Dave after he saw Dave comment on one of his video's, and he said to upload a track of his and keep the author secret.

Glad to see the secret is out now I've been obsessed with the track since it first appeared. Looks like balla changed the title.

  2. You know it was good when you start getting this kind of reviews lmoa

"Let's start by saying that we understand that Best Kept Secret is the most alternative of the major Dutch festivals, and that the headliners are therefore not always the most accessible or radio-friendly artists. That is not necessary at all. But in our view there is a fairly large difference between alternative and very niche. Aphex Twin fell into that second category as far as we were concerned. The only ones who seemed to enjoy the set from start to finish were the ones who were either walking around in good man T-shirts or completely under the influence of narcotics. The objective listeners and more casual fans of Aphex Twin were mostly confused and had to wait a long time for something high-profile to happen. Music is a subjective experience that is experienced differently by everyone, but what exactly was the thinking behind a headliner (and closing of the biggest stage, of all things) that is so niche that only a very select few could enjoy it?"

It was indeed quite funny seeing all the normies get confused and stop dancing when the beat changed a bit or things got a bit noisy or ambient for 10 seconds.

Also, how did people not cringe harder at the Christine And The Queens performance? I mean, she sure can sing great and the band is fine too but holy f those monologues in between made me wanna alt+f4 and go do something else, figuratively speaking, crazy b*tch I tell you.

    Thanks for posting, psn!

This is basically the vinyl version of the Human Touch EP from my bandcamp page, but with a new running order that includes previous bonus tracks, and with new graphics/design by Timpani etc.

I had to make the original EP private in order to dock with the Utter label bandcamp, which took the EP off your collection if you bought it.
I will be sending out download codes to the affected e-mail addresses. PM me if you are affected in any way.

No worries, original still shows up in my collection and I'm able to play it from there and download it. The web page for it just doesn't exist anymore so nobody can buy it anymore.

Hyped to get grown-up talk on wax ❤️

  4. I think this means he has signed his rephlex back catalogue to warp. So we might see some more represses in the future, too bad those will be warp represses.

Might be more attractive financialy for him, compared to selling his stuff independantly without the marketing machine that is warp. Let's hope his contract isn't too restrictive so he can release new stuff without them. Hi did just put up that compilation on bandcamp of soundtracks/samlpes packs he did in the past. Don't know it that is a god or a bad sign.

Does anyone talk to Dave?  How's he doin'?

He told me he was working on new tracks and we should be expecting an announcement very soon... he said this in februari.

Don´t know if the announcement was talking about this repress or new stuff but it took quite a bit longer for this to be announced.

    Spoiler

PS there´s an uncredited Monolith track on youtube uploaded over a year ago, good lucky finding it.

Hope the image on the WeMe page is a quick mockup and they recreate it better for the final product.

Her's the reply I got from Fred after pointing out some aesthetic blunders in the new artwork:

    "It's a point of view...

    but not Dave's"

Is Ridge the mnlth109-preview track he sent out? I haven't listened to either yet.

MNLTH109 was suposed to be a bonus release for those who bought the whole set or 2 cassettes. The preview was a bunch of snippets (12min) but I don't think Ridge was on there. It was still on his soundcloud (private link) about two weeks ago but now it's taken down.

User36434, from the “decoded” artists listed in the artwork.

Correct, first thing I thought about when I heard kr ms+800 bit was this track

ohh. the lipid funk person. thanks for the link. looks like that's purchasable, now, here: https://colorsquadrecords.bandcamp.com/album/c-o-l-o-r-s-q-u-a-d-0-4

i'm not hearing it being the same artist. i'm still thinking aphex for kr ms+800 bit. it has the alien artifact feel.

not really sure what to say to mcbpete, except that he is probably aphex.

Lipid funk is also comming out on wax on touched electronix, some realy good tracks on this compilation. https://www.discogs.com/Various-Touched-Electronix-002/release/12883963
