Probably got nerded out in the thread already somewhere but just noticed the white noise filter shuffle beat thing in T69T07 stasspa+3 off the Field Day LP is the same as in T69 Collapse right before the breakdown

yeah that happens a lot in his music. There is one track from bonus HAB tracks ( I think ) that literally has parts from 2 or 3 different tracks off RDJ album. He so liberally reuses his stuff. It makes sense, once you find a set of sounds that gel then you can combine and recombine them in many ways.

I think the track you are referring to is Choir Drill. It definitely has some sounds that were used on the RDJ album.

  2. I play it regularly all the way through.

    Same with Syro and Cheetah.

Deejay Selek is the one I play least for some reason. I must say I forget that he added some super fat tracks to that ep on his store.

    Rozzboxv is just crazy.

  3. lately i am always making my own playlists and generally do not prefer just listening to entire albums, even on shuffle. london, however, is pretty great to play on shuffle

also, i just looked into the album classification thing again and apparently the catalog number indicates warp considered the vinyl an ep.

At Field day they charged 15 pounds for the record. The stand was there from the beginning of the festival.

I remember making my way to the stand directly, which meant I had to drag the record along with through the whole festival... But it was worth it.

Even got offered 120 pounds for it that evening.

Interesting - so I wonder if he will release tracks from the CWLP after all (Airflow being one of them)...

And further to the point - is it the same version of Airflow that was released for the CWLP Kickstarter?

Airflow is such an awesome track, loved it since the first time I heard it.

I was loosing it when he played it in London last year...

I bought several tracks from Collapse Ep but can't make a comment.  Anyone know why or have this problem?

I'm guessing that you need to buy the whole EP?

The site requires at least one track to make a comment so now what?

"To comment on this you have to bag at least 1 track."

Not having this problem... Are you signed in?

I like new thing, but can we please go back to 20 year old thing

Once again you don't understand how music works. Albums like S.A.W II, ICBYD ....actually all of Aphex Twin's early work is timeless. It has nothing to do with when it was made. Great music spans time and is appreciated by each new generation over and over again. Where as the most "advanced and ground breaking new music" will be played out and dated far sooner. The world top underground DJ'S are still playing Aphex Twins work from the 90's....they're not playing stuff from Druqks, Come To Daddy, Tuss etc..

I can't stand people who treat music like it's sports.

You forget one thing. That artists don't wanna be doing the same thing over and over again. They evolve, are a different person from twenty years ago especially someone like Richard who loves experimenting. No way he'll ever go back and as much as i love his older stuff and still listen to that a lot, it's for the best. Nothing more pathetic than an artist trying to copy himself from twenty years ago... If that ever happens he'll just quit all together.

  7. Jezus, this ep is just pure greatness! Oh my god, it's like drukqs craziness and rdj album melodies combined. This is gonna be on repeat for a while. Abundance is my favourite for now and pthex is so good. Love it. Just love it, and to quote Eminem "critics never have anything nice to say..." ?

I know the vinyls rips are such a disappointment. First too loud, then way too quiet... I've just stopped listening entirely

Me too. Official release is really close though so we don't have to wait much longer.

Same, I was actually doing great not listening to any rips until a friend shared the vinlyl rips. I took two listens and hoped to God they were not gonna sound like that.

Still hoping that actually, the nice melodies that come through the hard beats are way too low in volume. Really really hopê the release will be different.

When in the car definitely the higher energy up tempo stuff. When at home depends on the mood and moment of the day. That's why i love rdj's music, it's so diverse and can fit any moment!

You can play it at funerals
Yes definitely! Lichen can be played on mine.

You won't believe the tremendous emotions this already powerful track can evoke at a wake. We played Lichen at my mother's funeral 3 years ago. Everytime I'm listening to it now its light sadness became stronger. At my funeral i want to have playing Max Richter's Spring 1 off his Vivaldi recompositions.

I can believe that. Played the track four at my best friend's funeral... That song will never be the same for me.

Is anyone else able to comment on the Aphex store? I preordered it but I don't have access to comment on that release.

if you preordered it on bleep it won't work, same problem here. didn't know he will put the exact same offer on his bleepstore too...

From now on always buy thorough the aphex store. Otherwise you won't get the future tracks.

A couple of SCD-related questions to take a break from all the Collapse EP hype:

    1. Has anyone made a comprehensive list that sorts the Soundcloud tracks into rough eras?

    and

    2. Have the Soundcloud tracks that were added as bonus tracks in the online store been mastered or altered in any way?

    Ta.

    Mastered? afaik yes

Altered? Apart from some name changes, the only one gone through some rougher treatment is 28 organ. The bleepstore version (on ComeTo Daddy EP) doesn't have the vocoder (?) part from ~4:49-5:29.

As for the titles I prolly should mention these

Chink 101=clissold 101 [dat28 otari] (Surfing On Sine Waves)

blue carpet = bank lullaby (Come To Daddy)

    flabbard [DAT 14] = Gak 7 e,+3

Other are just some variations such as Hilo = Hilow

And merry maidens is the short 2 min version

The best answer I've got to your first question is this old faithful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11ouNaaVrNp60Ib34Kp0TO1n1XSc7-9DvfiZ9ZiTiD2c/htmlview

Does anyone remember from what era the 7 Cutting track is? Really love that track.

I remember when first hearing this, the beginning was so much HAB, but after the intro it sounds like pulled from RDJ album. Imo more RDJ than CtD. soz for necromancing your question from freaking May, but this shit is important, yes? :emotawesomepm9:

Haha yes very important. Thanks. I had the feeling it was ctd aswell. Such a great track still.

  13. hmmmm what can I moan about? Oh yeah its a bit of a long wait until release date!! Whats that all about!! September is autumn not summer!! Fucking grumble grumble grumble. Now grumble grumble the hologram vinyl grumble grumble is gone from Bleep, I wish grumble I got one.

Need more Sainsburys ibropurofen , nope its iburophen...ibuprofen (hahhah I finally spelt it right!!)

    Hoof It!!

Technically September 14 is still summer...

I find it surprising that so few people comment on the video which i think it's truly amazing.

Reminds me of the good old mtv days, when innovative things were shown.

Plus the track is just off the wall. Just miss the sample, too much aphex twin like in the Houston version ?
