  1. Just got back home after the weekend. What a blinder!

I was lucky enough to get tix for both shows.

First show was brutal and pummeling at times. As others have said, the total darkness making for some strange feelings. I was hallucinating slightly, seeing things in the dark, and my ears were playing tricks on me (or were they?), and I lost all perception of time.

We were in the second row down the front off to the left, and I was worried the sound would be a bit pants but it sounded incredible.

For the second show we were up right at the top, pretty much center on the front row.  I was hoping  would be able to spot any subtle differences from the first set, but my hopes came true when they played a completely different set. The last 20 mins or so is some of the best Ae I have ever heard. There is a definite progression in their sound.

ZF were also top, though I wast keen on the fluty/panpipey last track.

Top comedy moment for me was a lady finding her seat and saying as she passed "There are a lot of men here" (I replied "Yeah, its a total sausage fest)....oh and Mike Ps footwear!

Sean and Rob, if you're reading this. Cheers fellas. This was the first time I have seen you where the playing in the dark really worked. I was dubious about the gig being seated, but fuck, the total and complete darkness really spun my head. Thanks!

  2. Same. I got tickets to both.

Im hoping they are aware that there will be lots of us seeing both shows, and make both sets a different experience.

    But hey, it's Autechre...who fucking knows! (or cares...twice in one day...I mean....FUCK!!!!)

  3. Thanks listening, and for the positive comments, much appreciated ?

@T3551ER Nothing spectacular, complex, or even preplanned in terms of sound design, just mess about until something sounds good.

  4. Alright?

Updated my SC with new versions of some of the older tracks, deleted some of the first experiments, and uploaded a new track, Tre.

    Feedback welcome.

Have a great weekend, yeah? x

pretty cool, Operator is powerful. rather liked Opr. out of the two, could definitely see that getting a little more work and finalized. definitely feel like the constituent parts need a little space between them, a touch of separation/reverb/something, feel a bit raw as it is (tho of course raw =/= bad!)

    Thanks for the feedback,

Any suggestions on how to achieve that, please?

This is the kind of stuff that I lack knowledge in, unfortunately. I feel I'm making progress with sound design and arrangement, but I feel I need to watch more tutorials and read some stuff I guess.

ayn v2 is lovely, though if i'm not a fan of the stretches and glitches from 4:30 onward. i'd rather the track ended before there.

Funnily enough I was looking at Ayn again today, and came to the same conclusion. I guess I got a bit carried away with the effects. Expect version three at some point soon.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

  7. Hi, me again......

I've uploaded a couple of tracks to my SC that I've been doing over the last few days.

Both are done using nothing but Operator.

Opr. is another attempt at non repetitive IDM using probabilities etc

Ord. is an attempt to make an uneasy sounding ambient track. Might be a bit cheesy, but I learnt a fuck-ton about sound design making both of them.

As always, criticism is welcome, still lots to learn.

Thanks for listening. Expect a few more as I have the next nine days off work.......

  8. Thanks ?

No samples, all done with Operator in Live 10, mostly my own sounds, but one preset that I messed about with.

Operator has become my favourite synth, I use it more than anything else. Just finishing an ambient track using only Operator. Its ended up being quite scary!

Edit: One of the pads was done with Wavetable.
