Yes, also enjoying this one. It seems a touch more melodic compared with his recent releases

V/A - Analogical Force remix album (AF030LP)
petsim replied to gated's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Looks great. Can’t wait to hear that Dwaallicht remix of Daed -
Thanks! I had already picked that one up - great stuff

Yeah I’m really enjoying this release. Not sure I’ve heard the double cassette - do you know if there are digitals available for that?
-
I think this might be a stand-out on AF for me. I haven’t heard much Bewwip - only this and the EPs on Occult Research. Are there many more releases out there?
-
Digitals are out

This is brilliant. Hoping that means there’s a lot more on the way -
This is excellent

Barker is new to me but am really enjoying Debiasing so thanks for the tip. Will check out the Baumecker collaboration too

Cheers for the heads up. I doubt that i’ll make it that far in but who knows. And that incident with your dog has definitely put me off the prequels.

Ah great. I’ve been saving it for when I have some time off and it’s coming up in a week or so. I know it’s a trilogy: are the other parts as good or is the reputation of these books built on the first one?
-
I’m just about to read it for the first time. I’m guessing by your comment that it still stands up. And I am coming to it cold: I have a vague, probably incorrect, notion of what it’s about (dynastic power struggles over resources on a desert planet?) but have not read it, discussed the narrative with anyone or seen the film version.

I love the Switch but we use it as a home console rather than a handheld so am happy to stick with the current iteration. I mainly play mobile games on my phone - Cultist Simulator at the moment. I do have a window of time coming up in which I could fit in a decent single player game. Am tempted by Sekiro but have heard that even by From’s standards it’s brutal and requires a degree of commitment that I don’t think I can rise to.

I’ve read High Rise and Concrete Island - both excellent. I like this kind of “mundane” speculative fiction: making the commonplace or humdrum surreal/alienating.

I read Blood Meridian about a decade ago when I was bingeing on McCarthy. It’s the kind of book that I’m glad I read but won’t revisit for probably another decade. Same with a lot of McCarthy - they stay with you for a long long time. Child of God is another one of his that sticks in the brain. I’m reading Ballard’s short stories at the moment. Hit and miss for me but mostly hit. He has a gift for playing with jargon and when he gets the tone right it’s brilliant. Master and Margarita: haven’t read it in many years - isn’t there a scene at the end where one of the clownish characters is revealed to be solemn knight in his true form?

Really enjoying this. Looking forward to the third part of this cycle too.

New countdown, new release? [Aphex Twin Warp Store]
petsim replied to Time Tourist's topic in Aphex Twin
Exactly the same happened to me. I dropped Tidal an email and they refunded straight away. Then it wouldn’t let me download the files through Safari, which apparently isn’t able to download audio, according to Tidal -
Thanks for the link. Only caught the first 45 mins but from the comments on here sounds like the rest of it gets even better.
