  1. Haven't listened to SAW 2 since March 2018, put it on today...amazing, even moreso when it is like listening to it the first time as you have no memory of the tracklisting...

  2. I don't know what is more sad.

That there are heroin users in the first place, or judging by the youtube comments, the general public only care about the female victims featured in the documentary. Like being born with a vagina somehow means your safety and well being is more important than if you were born without one.

  3.

If you can find the post code, it will give us street address!

Does anyone have images of the inside? I got this awesome pic of a bank vault full of synths...in my head. Would be interdasting to compare it to reality!

Ironically somewhat I have been looking at getting an apartment in Strata SE1 which is right near MoS at Elephant & Castle.

Richard mentioned at one time he had the Donkey Rhubear costumes in the upper storey windows staring out, before they eventually dissolved due to "caustic sweat".

Please trust me JR, I fully believe you mailed something to him while either he or his mates still lived in stoke newington but the bank was defo in elephant & castle which is somewhere else, and also doesn't exist anymore (the bank, not e&c)

'98 Stoke newington' means nothing on its own, could be Stoke newington Road, or Stoke newington high Street, or some other 98 in some road in stoke newington.

And the bank wasn't in stoke newington, but aphex did live in stoke newington at some point. Stoke newington Stoke newington.

I lived in stoke newington for about 4 years and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about Stoke newington. This is the most times anyone has written Stoke newington in a single post in the history of watmm

Interestingly the Gaurdian lists a LLoyds Bank that was closed / sold as "Lloyds TSB England & Wales 133 Stoke Newington, Stoke Newington, UK" ie no road also. Maybe banks were listed differently in London? That was in 2011.

I was always curious what branch the bank was before Richard decided to make it a flat... that being said, I suppose he had to have a proper bathroom put in (with a shower or tub) since I can't imagine any commercial building having more than a basic toilet and sink.

This is getting into Twoism levels of fanboyism...

There was an HSBC just up the road, number 82 I think, so you can rule them out, unless they moved into the big tower (Eileen House) and left their standalone building behind.

  4. I am unsure if AT even cares about £££ in the ways that others do. In all his interviews he has hardly / if ever mentioned money. He seems to use his brand to troll instead of to gain finances which makes a nice change IMO!

I remember him trolling Simona Rich about buying a pirate ship and sailing it around the UK, docking in ports and playing there...she fell for it hook line and sinker... this was back in the 90's on good ole MTV!

  7. So lemme get this straight...

    Aphex does new release.

5 pages on the best AT related forum full of people insulting each other, bragging about being in some kind of clique where this clique and this clique only, gets a rip of the music, and being racist.

About 3 posts about the actual music.

For someone relatively new like myself...how do you think this appears?

And for AT himself do you think he is glad to know his fans behave in such ways? No wonder he likes his privacy...

  8.

shit, I love boc so much

many times when I've listened to a few hours of random horseshit off the internet, I sit back and think why the fuck didn't I just  listen to Boards of Canada...

This. I consistently just listen to Aphex Twin, BoC and Carbon Based Lifeforms.

Whenever I take the time and effort to listen to others, I end up disappointed.

Bumping old thread btw because awesome.

  9. DJ Latte is actually :rhubear1: and this post is an untraceable meta-troll designed to agitate this community by presenting, in a seemingly naive way, the public perception of :aphexsign: so that it will appear ridiculous.

    Mark this thread as solved.

Sometimes when I am browsing this forum I like to wonder which poster is RDJ. It is obvious, to me, that one of the members, is, infact, himself.

  10. I think he is probably enlightened due to the amount of psychedelics consumed in his lifetime and his unwealthy background (the whole of Cornwall is poor, I come from there, I should know) shifting to being rich and probably realising that money doesn't buy happiness, (I think what he really cherishes is family hence why he is so private).

Enlightened people are not ruled by their ego.

He comes across to me like he simply doesn't care what people think of him or his music and that is a non egoic state of mind IMO.

I know one thing, his music is amazing. I will sit down with new headphones etc and go through all my favorite artists like Carbon Based Lifeforms, BoC, etc and end up on one of AFX' many works and sometimes find myself crying with tears of bliss. No other artist can do that to me. SAW2 is an ideal example. I can't wait to hear SAW2 on a lucy comedown.

  11. I think you could almost class this track as ambient gothic.

And I think my brain would quite literally melt if he made an album in such a vein, as keanu says this would be a very good thing. A very good thing indeed.

Same. I like his darker stuff.

  12. So here I am listening to DrukQs for the first time having written it off as "just noise" one day.

And I stumble upon gwely mernans.

Playing it back for the 6th time in a row and it just.... I don't know it is like the track is background music for how the earth is spinning.

Does this make sense? The background to life.

    Amazing piece of work.

Blocked in the UK but this might work for others

  13. This is the kind of music I relate to certain drug trips, especially Tassels and Stone in Focus. The whole SAW2 album could be the audio interpretation of an LSD trip.

  14. it'll be fine...

but we need a socialist government for it to be fine

    tories will fuck it up

Why socialist? So that they can give the £xxxM a week to people who cba to work instead of to the EU?

  15. I don't understand why people think leaving the EU will put us in a negative economic situation.

    Facts:

    - The EU/US deal is going sour and might not happen at all depending who the next President is - because the EU are demanding too much (as usual)

    - We are 350m/whateverM a day better off to start with.

    - India, China, and Russia all want to deal with us directly.

    - Farmers in the UK who sell a product no one wants to buy at a price too high for market value and instead rely on government subsidies might be forced to use their considerable land to produce something people do want. Like solar power.

    - We can actually govern our own country and make our own decisions.

    - We could, if we wanted to, start manufacturing in the UK again because there is no EU telling us that it is too pollutive.

All I am seeing from leavers is bleating about the poor farmers (and they aren't even farmers themselves) and how the UK is going to go bankrupt even though every shred of factual evidence argues otherwise. When you get into a heated debate with these clowns they quickly move on to calling you a cunt, telling you how they hope you die from Cancer, and sometimes...death threats.

  16. the only benefits that are important are the benefits to the economy, via the common market and via the free movement of people (EU immigrants are a net contributor to the HMRC, and that doesn't even factor in the indirect benefits they bring to the economy). the amount of tax revenue available to the UK is far far higher than it would have had if it had never joined the EU, and this is despite the fact that they actually pay around £8 billion a year to the EU.

the EU is far from perfect, but removing it entirely (or for any country currently in there to leave) would be pretty shitty for all involved.

    *12billion

Most people who come to the UK to work don't pay any tax, are not on PAYE, it is all cash in hand then gets sent home via moneygram. So it doesn't benefit the UK economy.

I swear half the people who voted Remain had NO IDEA what the EU actually was.
