  1. "feed1" is already one of my all time Autechre songs. It may not work for you, but it does for me, and I can tell you with confidence it is not just pointlessly abrasive.
  2. That is how I feel about eastre Yeah, I feel this same way about "eastre" too.
  3. I cannot abide by this track because of its length. I would love it otherwise.
  4. I read "acdwn2" as A.C. down 2
  5. Yeah I'm not enjoying 5 right now either. It's because its tracks have the least development of all of elseq. They are just too stagnant. It ends up being a bit boring because I am hearing the same thing over and over. It would be much nicer if the tracks were shorter.
  6. It's not Jev though because Jev loved "mesh cinereaL."
  7. That's a good point. Has anyone else noticed the Mayan influenced melodies?
  8. Am I the only one who calls it else-cue?
  9. Happy one month anniversary!
  10. Oh my god, that song by mtch was so good. Is there anywhere where I can buy his music? All I see is the SoundCloud and the Facebook.
  11. Wait what specifically is the boomy sound?
  12. He's mentioned it a few times before. On twitter, and on one other video. Also if you watch to the end of the video you linked, he explicitly says he doesn't know if he will review it yet, but he might have time during a classics week coming up to fully listen to it.
  13. Ah, very cool about Cheetah MS800. Also is it worth buying the CD over mp3s? What value would the CD get me?
  14. Autechre have said before every sound they use is toned, so almost everything in every track has a melody to some extent.
  15. What's all this stuff about "operating" the Cheetah EP, and experimenting with the sounds they've made for us, and "have fun programming"? Is that just a joke?
  16. You come off as if you are just upset that he said something you disagree with, so you say he should never express his opinions online. That sounds pretty bad. Conflicting opinions lead to truth. It's fine if you disagree with him, but if you do, you should maybe actually explain why you do and on what points like the posts beneath you did. Is your issue with the fact that he released a review after only having listened to it once? I guess that's somewhat valid, but the fact that these are just first impressions don't make his opinions worthless.
  17. Don't hear it, i'm generally OK with Actress, but this track is just generic British house of late 90s sorta instagrammed into current fashion. Now 7th slip really reminds me of All Tomorrow's Linoleum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2QJQlZpSwE Whoa, I had never heard of this song. Thanks for sharing.
  18. You are probably thinking of "Let's Fly" from Splazsh. The synths sound similar, but the melodies and songs overall I would say are very different.
  19. I way prefer Quaristice over Quadrange.
  20. Yep, the same thing happened with me and "TBM2" too. It might be one of their most subtle tracks. It's an interesting experiment. I'm still not sure how much it will pay off, but I certainly can agree that I hear new oddities all over the place with every new listen. Some of the things I didn't hear until like my third time listening seem to be so obvious now.
  21. Yeah all very good points actually. There are similar points to be made about movies as well. And I guess there is a little bit of objectiveness when it comes to music like sound quality and stuff, but yeah overall music is way more subjective.
  22. I'm sure it's not just me who thinks this, but rating music on a 1-10 scale is the dumbest thing ever. It makes sense for video games, movies, tv shows, but music is far less constrained than those media. Apart from the mastering and sound quality, there's almost no objective qualities of music. In the end all art is subjective, even cinema and video games. Yes, you can try to be as objective as possible, but it's still art in the end. I don't think a 1-10 scale is supposed to be some objective rating. People who claim it is are misrepresenting it. The scale is just a subjective measure of the reviewer's own enjoyment of that piece of art. I love rating things on a 1-10 scale. I do it for every movie I watch and album I listen to, and I like keeping track of my ratings and ordering them. I would never be stupid enough to claim it is objective in any way. It is based on my own values and criteria, and in the end the number only represents my own enjoyment. Things I give a 10 I love most and know I could listen to forever. Things I give a 7 are pretty good, but missing something to be great, so I might listen to it occasionally. It is just for my own purposes because I like organizing it.
  23. yes indeed! and the opening electro from AE_Live. The AC unit was down. Draft always felt a bit humid n stuffy to me. Really? I'm not getting any Draft 7.30 vibes from here at all. Wondering where you guys are hearing that from, but whatever, everyone always hears Autechre songs completely differently. Also I like the idea of Draft being humid and stuffy. I might think about that next time I listen to it.
  24. Wow I'm having a tough time getting into elseq 5. I'm surprised it's one of people's favorites. I guess I really like some of the concepts/sounds behind it, but these are some of the songs with the least development of all of elseq 1-5, and it gets a bit boring hearing the same thing for ten minutes. I don't know maybe it's too minimal for me right now. I wouldn't be surprised if it grew on me a lot though because it seems like one of the few elseqs with a clear focus.
