  1. Yeah got mine last weekend (continental europa), not sure it reaaally matters as i dont have a MD player, been enjoying that release on flac only so far... its like a cool goodie and the first (& only probably) MD i will ever buy.
  2. Another great release ! i was thinking about it earlier, The colundi sequence series must be my favorite release of this year, sure its a huge "release", considered it last under 7 hours, but most of it sounds really really really good, & all over it, the series has a kind of identity/style that make it really work as a piece of art, it's whole long trip into frequencies/Bass & minimal yet warm sounds with bits of acid, techno roots etc. I'm not sure it does really matters but it seems strange that some of the best music released in 2014 got almost no reviews/mentions in the main music medias, beside a small review in RA for the level 3. Anyway, that Level 7 is truly good.
  3. considered you joined watmm seven years after me.. yeah why not :-) ok, noob, meme, read the rules, sean pls, jazzband, etc ok ok i know the score but what about explaining me in more than 2 words why am i a noob for having an opinion on a record ? :-)
  4. considered you joined watmm seven years after me.. yeah why not :-)
  5. I notice that loads of my mates loves AFX and they dont seems to enjoy Druqks that much, i guess that watmm must be the only place where people actually loves Drukqs, i mean its a great record but nowhere near SAW85-92, SAW2, i care because you do or Richard D James album. At the time of its release, it got the weakest reviews of AFX catalogue, and guess what ? AFX went into totally different styles after that record (Analord/Tuss). I love Mont St michel & many tracks of it (including the pianos ones), but as an AFX fan, i found it hard to consider it a "masterpiece". Well, a "masterpiece" for WATMM people which says it all...
  6. i have a ktl live lp (pita/soma collab) that cuts violently in the middle of a long track, after a few spins, you get used to it but almost expect the track to cut at every loop (its loop based muisc), so its trully disturbing. regarding recent ambient music, the best stuff i heard in this field might be the ending of the sakamoto/taylor deupree live collab, i guess i should get their cd, the last twenty minute of their boiler room set is beautiful, its mostly concrete & weirdo improvisation, but, slowly some killer ambient loops appears (without noticing), truly well done : (forward to 40min)
  7. Well, from what i recall, the Disengage shows on Kiss 102 were DJ'd by Gescom, mostly Autechre. During the AAA thread, when i ask them to ID a track played on a 1995 show, they did spot it very quickly (5 second sample), like they were actually behind the decks, they also mentionned those shows in a few interviews back in the days...well, you should ask people who recorded it/listened to it back in 1995.
  8. i thought that kickstarting tDR to make artwork for Ae Remixes 1993-2014 could be cool but a/ they would never make unofficial Ae stuff b/ tDR are supposed to be quite expensive c/ at the end of the day, its just a folder
  9. dont forget to check this russian forum for more AE remixes ;-)
  10. kruton Ae remix from the artist bandcamp http://kruton.bandcamp.com/track/smallfish-p-a-track-2-autechre-rmx
  11. The writer mentions the answer i got from sean regarding the seefeel remix in the AAA thread. its interesting that The Wire are writing about that Laxil folder in the same ways they could write about a proper LP & i do agree on that : i spent many hours/days/months/years playing those remixes on my HD, as much as some of the proper LPs, and of course, those remixes are great. If you like Autechre, those remixes are not to be missed.
  12. as far as i can understand, you're talking about the brothomstates live set which also featured tunes by antti koivisto (ex-brothomstates), mikko karvonen (yolk/cncd aka crankshaft), and crankshaft played his part of the collab track that is featured in that demo. or, maybe "his part" is incorrect altogether, and what we're talkin about is an actual collab track, of which crankshaft was only able to extract the bits that he had access to with his gear. nevermind Not sure - I just have it named as Brothomstates - Radio Mafia - Live @ helsinki 03/03/00, it's about 25 minutes long. It all sounds quite brothomstates-like but it may well be other folks, it's nice whatever it is ! EDIT: I guess the best thing to do would to upload it - Brothomstates - Radio Mafia 03-03-2000.mp3 dunno if it has been mentionned elswhere but that lovely track is available on bandcamp : http://beatspace-flow.bandcamp.com/track/brothomstates-vs-crankshaft-we-kill-da-enemy
  13. Joyrex doesn't know who Steinvord is/are but what it is (whatever is the difference). if Steinvord is a collaboration or a split ep, that makes sense (knowing what it is Vs knowing who it is), well talking about making sense in a Steinvord thread is a difficult task
  14. yeah my record player actually plays the locked groove for a few minutes before launching the last track ; regarding the perfect sound skills well aphex released some chaotic tunes (Mangle11, Run the place red remix) in 2003, i believe the ep is a split with Squarepusher... i barely knows JK music so i cannot say much about it.
  15. for those who have the vinyl, there is a long gap between two tracks (first side if i remember correctly), it seems a bit unlikely that a fresh new rephlex signing would require this, as it's total nonsense, quite irritating indeed (and the kind of silly stuff Aphex is into...)

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

well lemanruss knows aphex music pretty well & yeah he doesnt dig Syro (no worries with that) & sure he made some points, i just dont agree with the "where are the porn samples from come on you slags on Syro???" thing. what i do like on the new record ? the mix of quiet melodies in the background + crazy beats somewhere that gives me a adorable weirdo feeling, strange but pretty relaxed, like a flavoured beer from elswhere, cosy yet pretty mysterious.

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

The fucking sheer velocity and car door panel vibrating resonance (well put sir) of Girl/Boy Song is....in Girl/Boy Song actually. & you should not expect artists to re do what they achieved previously, that's basically the difference between a craftsman & an artist. its like asking "Where are the fucking trees ?" in the latest Mondrian paintings.

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

Elvis Costello on Morrissey “Morrissey writes wonderful song titles, but sadly he often forgets to write the song.”

    APHEX TWIN - SYRO

to (mis) quote elvis costello, aphex must be the opposite of Morrissey : fantastic music, terrible track titles, i dont know how you guys do remember those insane tracks titles..

DAMN!!! I'm not pre-ordering from Bleep again. I live in LOS FUCKING ANGELES and my package tracking says… "Expected Delivery Day: Thursday, September 25, 2014" That's what I get for pre-ordering the instant it goes live. If it doesn't come with crazy swag, I'm gonna raise hell. my LP didnt show up yet & i saw it in shops last friday but honestly, who cares, i bought it via bleep, DL the leaks, its not the end of the world. i'll spin the lp later, that's what the leaks are here for :-)

well last weekend i listened to Syro and HAB, & i actually love both, the only AFX bit i miss is the 1995 schelude : i care because you do + ventolin EP + donkey rhubarb + Hangable auto bulb EPs + Analogue Bubblebath V (yet unreleased), hmmm that was a busy year ! But Syro is great, definetely.
