I really love the subtle complexity of the tracks. I didn't notice it until the second listen in headphones. Great drum programming hidden in the middle of many of the songs. The second MS800 is one of the best little tracks he's done, although nothing can beat Pigeon Street.
Can't wait to get out of the office and pre-order this baby!
I agree that the overwhelming promotion can make the release seem underwhelming by comparison. Then again, this is Warp's signature product. What else can we expect?
I hope Lobster is real. I remember Lobster Trax from Cylob being an enjoyable, funny little record. Maybe Aphexian Sunset will follow!
Obviously not an AFX fan.
Richard doesn't make music to satisfy you. A lot of his stuff, especially the AB3 AB4 and AB5 (unreleased) releases, are not intended to be commercial or exciting. They are intended to be "bare-bones." Its the point.
"Fan" is short for "fanatic." You are not fanatical. Every release is 10/10. No exceptions. Ever.
First Post!
I've been lurking for years and years. The only thing that was preventing me from joining is that there are too many people on the board with insufficient faith in Aphex. No time for the hating!
