  1. Can you reupload this? I remember it being really good and would like to hear it again
  2. I've always wondered, what does the carrot image in your signature signify to you?
  3. No. Reading books is like a workout for your imagination. I should know, because I don't read much anymore and I'm a fucking idiot.
  4. https://youtube.com/watch?v=uq-gYOrU8bA This is an unironically good song, fight me.
  5. Jesus y'all have some fucked opinions on people based on whether or not their preference of pets aligns with yours... how about you get to know them instead of thinking that there's some kind of warped psychology behind their preference? There are control-freak cat-owners and flaky dog-owners all the same. Some people love cats AND dogs, imagine that!
  6. Told a friend that I get my memes from WATMM and he replied "Where.. all the memes... mingle?" Motherfucker can acronym real quick. Shit was impressive.
  7. For a solid year or so now, I apparently check the time at 3:03, 6:06, 7:07, 8:08 and 9:09 a LOT. Weird.
  8. No, it's definitely a 3LP box set with hours of brand new and completely finished tracks plus a free ticket to give Richard a handjob for the first 100 buyers.
  9. Those basslines. Has anyone tried copying these syroish basslines? I think it's part the little slips of octave-jumping portamentos but there's something uniqu about them harmonically as well... can't quite wrap my head around them synthesis-wise.
  10. Yeah, it seems really nice for such a small keyboard. I was interested in these after watching Nahre Sol's videos - she seems like a pretty serious musician and she gets great sounds out of that little thing. That sounds like a pretty healthy attitude. I am changing jobs right now and I expect to have less energy until that stabilizes. Also it should get better for me when the weather cools down a bit (it was 42C a couple weeks ago) so I can actually enjoy being outside and moving around to get my brain juices flowing again.A friend of mine who is an artist for a living told me that when he doesn't feel creative in his art, he finds ways to be creative in other ways: house-related projects, cooking, networking, finding ways to be creative with his spousal relationship (which you seem to be doing with cooking, good on you.) An artist is creative in many aspects of their life, not just their in their art.
  11. Oregon here, yeah it's a huge problem because of the valley. It was horrible last year, felt physically sick for about a week. Makes me wonder about the causes. A lot of people say it's a combination of overmanaging forest fires for generations (too much dry dead wood) and logging for generations which changes the ecology significantly...
  12. sounds like he has an inferiority complex, brings himself up to get discussion on himself to help validate his own importance (in his own mind) not enough hugs as a child, or siblings treated way better than he was growing up lol "SEE, MY EXPERIENCE AND WHAT I THINK IS IMPORTANT TOO" (I'm totes not being like your friend and bringing up my experience lol) I've got a friend that used to be like yours in a way - we'd be having a conversation and he would just talk REALLY loud over all of us, seemingly without any idea he was doing it. Used it to segue himself into our convos. I do this a lot, not to the extent of lying to make myself fit in, but I have a hard time not talking from a first person perspective. It's really aggravating, because although I know that it comes off as incredibly selfish, it's the only mode of conversation I know how to naturally carry forth because it's how I relate to the world. I guess I'll just have to slowly train myself out of it. I hate myself. I hate the way I go about living. Argh. Makes me just want to give up socially but I know that would destroy my brain and I'd probably eventually get let go from my jobs for being an antisocial weirdo.
  13. There's something captivating about this guy. Not a funny video, just informative with a thin layer of smugness on top, but seemingly well-deserved smugness, as he worked for it. I believe he created the Vorbis format? https://youtu.be/cIQ9IXSUzuM
  14. Jesus you're cynical dude. I rented a paddle board once and I must say: It was kinda fun. It was nice. You get the feeling you're standing on water. Sometimes people do things because they feel good, not to look cool. I don't think anyone is under the illusion that it's some kind of great sport or a workout, unless for someone who hasn't been active in a while. Like, chill out once in a while, bruuhhhh. Also I don't remember it being that expensive so this isn't a defensive response about money. It's okay for people to be dorky.
  15. Alright I'm sorry. I was out of my element. If you don't like footwork/dj nate whatever, fine. You're entitled to not like it. It's not the best track but while you find the repetition of the vocals annoying, I think that nate uses enough rhythmic variation to keep it engaging and interesting enough that I'll go back and listen to it a few more times, because although it's a relatively lackluster track on the surface, something about it is musically alluring to me. It's almost the fact that we tend to automatically dislike repeating vocals but don't care as much when it's a hi hat line or synth phrase. I think it's interesting to use vocals in that way, with those particular rhythms. It sounds fresh enough to my ears. Same thing with Jlin. I really disliked her music the first time I heard it. It took a couple times for the rhythms to lock in and then her style of production started making sense to me, it no longer sounded like a smattering of repetitive samples. For a lot of people the first time they hear Aphex's drums on songs like Vordhosbn, it just sounds like someone haphazardly fucking with a drum machine obnoxiously rather than hearing the subtleties and repeated phrases that make it musically compelling. Sorry for being out of my element. All of that said, it's still valid to not like Jlin/footwork/dj Nate. I just like it and I wish you guys did too :(
  16. I don't have a dog in this fight but this sounds like ambient techno. What makes 'trap' 'trap' to you exactly? Just that tempo and the beat made on a drum machine? That is a metric FUCK TON of music. It was intended as a joke, but I was referring to the step-multiplied hi hats specifically. There aren't any triplets in there I don't think, which is unfortunate. Would have made the comparison more obvious.
  17. prichard jams predicted trap music guys: http://youtube.com/watch?v=N4BEpxiF4Qk 2:40 onward. Check m8, racists.
