  2. The piano I'm using is a Kawai RX-5. The octave jumps are really challenging to play softly – it took me a few takes to get it right. I plan on covering all of his tracks :––)

  4. Yeah, me too. I spoke with a friend and he said to mix it up a little instead of replicating the track precisely. I do love how closely mic'ed the piano is – you can hear every subtle nuance.
  5. Thanks very much. It's called the Doppler effect. I'm just amazed at how much of an impact it has on the sound of the piano. On a side note, I just found a review of my cover at disquiet.com. You can check it out here.
  6. I have never seen anything like that clip. The piano sounds so out of tune (which I assume is because of the swaying), but I'd love to verify if the piano was tuned before the gig. Rather incredible.
  7. Haha I actually did a couple field recordings here in Melbourne and found some great bird samples. Was about to include them and then got cold feet for some reason.
  8. Hey all, I'm a long-term AFX fan and just recorded a piano cover of aisatsana this week. Hope you enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6inYVeOmLNk
