  1. i'm curious about your workflow. could you talk a bit on what you did with this track?
  2. We Are The Music Makers | Volume One by Various here's a few recent ambient tracks of mine that i think work nicely together as a release. i used a variety of methods for experimentation, so i'm curious to hear any feedback. check it out!
  3. this is a very rough draft and rough mix, but i think this jam has its moments.
  4. the bones of this one are good, i think, but it needs some more finishing touches, IMO
  5. lol, that's basically what i made the track for, so reading this made me very happy, thank you.
  6. here's another experimental track. i think this one is pretty interesting with how it morphs and changes throughout the song.
  7. i'm curious what people here think of this one. some people might think it's weird or whatever, but i kinda love it and think it's beautiful. i like how it's murky, shifting, glimmering, ascending and descending. here's a similar track: i'm probably going to make some kind of ambient release, maybe even trying out putting this stuff on cassette, who knows.
  8. Probably still a work in progress, but I like how this turned out. Been trying to get back to making cerebral / emotional acid bangers, and I think this is a good start. edit: i ended up working on the track a bit more, so here's a later edit: really feel like i hit a home run on this one, at least in terms of what i was trying to accomplish. i want to make a serious long form album of stuff like this to make an attempt at a "proper" release with some kind of strategic marketing, etc.
  9. wanted to make something dancey and fun, and i think this worked out pretty good.
  10. got it. i think i may have been a little sensitive because i don't have much money either. all good.
  11. i'm not sure how sarcastic you're being here, but i work hard and don't have many expenses, so i was able to buy the octatrack after a long time saving and working a lot. i know the meme about expensive equipment, but the reality is that i have been doing this for 15 years, so now that i'm in my mid-thirties, i felt completely reasonable buying something that would improve my creative works (for years to come).
  12. Thanks!! It definitely took a while to understand the Octatrack, but I've been mucking about with grooveboxes and this kind of stuff for a while now. Honestly, once I understood the system and the lingo, it quickly became loads of fun to play--much more than any other live setup I've worked with in the past. It's funny how opaque the process for making electronic music can be from another musician's perspective. In listening to your stuff, I'm very intrigued by the textures and sounds you're able to achieve, and while I have my own educated guesses on how you achieve your sounds, they're still just guesses!
  13. Playing around with some dnb on my Octatrack, and I think this work in progress is coming along nicely!
  14. We Are The Music Makers | Volume One by Various On "Harrisonburg", I released three tracks of acid breaks, which is a style I've been exploring somewhat recently over tracks like "Emotional Acid", "T2.6", and albums like "Acid Man" . While I like the title track the most, I think the latter half of "Westover Park" is pretty groovy, and "Route 42" has some good moments as well. I have download codes for anybody interested in free music: I hope you check it out!
  15. thank you. here's a download code for the album in return: nbfd-ed3r you can redeem it here: https://snackmaster.bandcamp.com/yum and in case someone else wants a code as well, here are three more: mads-ucdl b9qe-ehwe w3rb-35d3
  16. Just released this album of melodic synthy jams. I think I did a good job with these tracks in terms of writing and sound design, so I'd love it if you took the time to check things out. Thanks!
  17. I made a couple long-form ambient drone pieces, best-suited for meditative moments. I think they turned out well. I even made a video for the first track, "Faded":
