just woke up from the longest dream about a watmm meetup in california. roughly 30-40 people were there, a few long time members having rented some sort of large, teal container with bunk beds, over the weekend, and there was a party every night. i remember realizing that every single one of you lot had a massive dose of ADHD. my gf came along and surprisingly enough had a good time. there was an SUV there we drove into the mountains during the day and just chilled. the final night there was a vampire themed party. the lights were out and everything was wrapped in plastic so as not to be stained with fake blood. the whole place was also wet and smeared with vaseline, with lots of grown men with vampire teeth running in the dark. somebody actually ate a raw animal. in hindsight i think it was roadkill. throughout the entire dream there was no music nor music discussion at all. i thought that bit in particular was pretty funny. i also remember being scared of not knowing enough about autechre to be able to speak up and fit in. most of you took good care of me though, especially auxien, who was a real standup dude. at least i think that's who it was

requires a lot of reading to get a grip on builds and stuff, too, doesnt it? saw something somewhere saying that it's basically designed to keep you playing in a chore-like way, what with resets and all. that puts me off a bit as well currently playing brawlhalla and no man's sky for equal parts competition and relaxation

that stuff always creeps me out. reminds me of the faustian themes of how "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist" and that we've gotten all these technological advancements at a great cost

david markson's reader's block. so far so good (30 pages in). unsurprisingly reminds me of wittgenstein's mistress, which is one of my favourites. it's uncanny how he actually conveys feelings through this rambling of factoids. i've found myself having to put down reader's block twice already, cause i was uneasy and felt this light tinge of sadness. and i don't usually react very much to art. at least not to my knowledge

i remember being sober enough to consider not posting this, knowing i might've missed the button, yet too drunk to restrain myself. now i can't find the edit button :^) edit: was there always a time limit on edits?

only yesterday i realized i can't play these titles (among others) for relaxation because i get too competitive and tryhard. it's not the difficulty as much as my own mindset when i get to it. had this banale yet important epiphany that i shouldn't be playing video games that aren't inherently relaxing. bought journey and had a good time until it started crashing on me lol. might look into no man's sky. it seems sweet
