  1. Loess - Totems 5/5. Exactly the music I needed this year. Andy Stott - Never The Right Time 3.5/5. "Answers" is a huge track! Such an enrichment for my music collection. Lone - Always Inside Your Head 3.5/5. Could have been 4.5/5 but the mastering, probably also the mixing of this album is a mess. Compression killed dynamics, so annoying cause the tracks itself are heavenly! Nordsun - Tales of a Beautiful Life nr/5. It's a personal thing as this album is my own creation. It's the first album I was brave enough to put out on vinyl. I invested a huge amount of money while having 0 people listening to it cause I saw this album on vinyl all the time during production. It's out since June but had almost no plays, no streams and of course no transactions but holding this thing in my own hands which turned out to be a beautiful vinyl record because of high quality manufacturing still makes my heart beat faster. I talk about my financial ruin later fml... ?? Can't deny it has a special place on my "records of 2021" list. Hopefully all of our lists in 2022 will have a new BOC record on it! ?

  3. https://nordsun.bandcamp.com/album/tales-of-a-beautiful-life Hi people, I was making music and putting out albums for years but got into a wrong filter bubble. My idm downtempo music was mislead to metal and rock music listeners. I decided to give up my moniker and now I released my first album under a new name, as Nordsun. I even put it out on vinyl cause I think it's quite listenable. I don't have a huge reach or much people listening and I thought the WATMM Forum could be the right place! It has 11 tracks and some of them are highly inspired by Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada. 04 Pier To Cosmos is a sister song to Last Walk Around Mirror Lake (Boards of Canada Remix). It's like Mirror Lake would mirror a sky full of stars and space dust. 06 From Distance is like a forrest walk where a deep synth bass like Clark ises them in his dystopian rave bangers meets the peaceful drones of BoC. 08 Wind Farm Choir has some retrospective ambient soundscapes that could have had a place on Selected Ambient Works Volume II. I love these synth pads that make up Rhubarb or Lichen and recreated that sound in my daw and played around with it. 10 Endless Love also is an ode to the ambient works by BOC and Aphex Twin. Sometimes I just need peaceful and quiet soundscapes to calm down my mind. I would love to get some feedback by people who love the same music as me. People who have a place for it in their idm playlists. Hope you like it! And if you do, feel free to share it! Sometimes I feel like Mr. Invisible would have been a better moniker. ? 4. Totems turned out to be a rather melodic album compared to their palette. I wouldn't criticise that their songs sound similar to each other cause their style in total is very unique and high quality. They are one of the best idm artists out there and every new release is a gift! I can't get enough songs from them cause there's no other artist making any music alike. It's a pity they are so unknown I almost missed this album cause no blog or magazine wrote about it and they don't care about social media which makes them even more likeable. Such an underrated duo and Totems is my personal favourite output of 2021 by far!
