  1. I'm excited, dunno about you. https://iliantape.bandcamp.com/album/itlp06-andrea-ritorno Out April 9.
  2. Yeah, also I think the environmental impact of vinyl is relatively low considering how long people keep records. Records generally never get thrown away, they're always sold on or whatever -- essentially recycling them. I'd also like to know the environmental impact of the huge datacenters that store people's music on Bandcamp or Spotify etc. Surely that needs to be quantified before you decide never to release music on vinyl. Anyway, sorry, I'm sure this album will be good.
  3. I reached out to this guy a while back to see if we could license one of his tracks. His agent/manager responded saying he didn't want to press anything to vinyl because of the environmental impact of vinyl production, but if I had a way to manufacture vinyl that was environmentally friendly (i.e. not using vinyl) he'd consider it. I replied saying we could release something on cassette only and just use recycled cassettes (ie. recording over previously used cassettes). Strangely, I never heard back.
  4. Yeah I'm pretty much done with FE unless it's a release I really want. I know how much shipping costs and how much mailers are -- and which mailers are good -- and the rates I set for Gated are as keen as I can make them. And yet he charges 18.99 for a 12-inch record and like 6 quid for UK shipping or whatever and ships them in those crappy mailers with no stiffeners. And people still buy the records! And the 50-quid marbled version still sells out? Crazy.
  5. Very nice, at least from the two preview tracks https://bleep.com/release/167656-the-fear-ratio-they-cant-be-saved
  6. yeah me neither but it sounds excellent. Especially the first half, which still sounds very fresh.
  7. this is good but the silly plastic screw in the middle of the vinyl is a bit of a pain.
  8. I bought this and it's really excellent. Recommend getting on it if you liked his album. https://bleep.com/release/158099-nathan-micay-the-world-im-going-to-hell-for-

  10. in related news, i just noticed there's a new ERP double-12 inch coming on Frustrated Funk: https://www.juno.co.uk/products/erp-fr-014x/750848-01/ Seems to be a collection of previously released tracks, but welcome nonetheless.
  11. Well, both vinyl editions appear to be sold out about 30 mins after this was released, so I don't know what to say. Check it out anyway. https://fromvinylwithlove.com/product/exomoon-std/ https://fromvinylwithlove.com/product/exomoon-ce/ Sound samples are at those links.
  12. Preorders finally up on Blerp, where they seem to have confused it with our last release by Goldefish. It's Dopefist, guys, not Dopefish. https://bleep.com/release/156020-dopefish-nice-dreams
  13. sounds great. Yeah I agree techno is one of the most exciting genres in electronic music right now.
  14. So it looks like that bonus vinyl only album with the boxset earlier this year will finally see track titles and a digital release.
  15. yeah I have to agree with you all, this is excellent.
  16. Looks like the vinyl might be delayed by a week or two. Really hoping not, chasing the pressing plant... but if it's not delivered by Thursday this week we'll need to put it back... urgh.
  17. Any feedback is gratefully received, good or bad. I mean it! You guys have been so supportive so far, but if there's anything we're doing wrong, even minor stuff, let me know so we can fix it. Thanks! cheers man, I agree!
  18. Our newest release is the rather lovely EP from Canadian musician Dopefist. Here's the official skinny: Following two stand-out cuts on recent Mindcolor Music and Touched Electronix compilations, Mike "Dopefist" Verde makes his full EP debut for Gated. Across six tracks, the Canadian native showcases music that dips and sweeps with life-affirming electronic goodness. This is music for the head and the heart, celebrating the magic found in unrepeatable details, a studio full of warm analogue synths, and classic drum machines. Verde records all his tracks in one take, emphasizing the element of improvisation, pushing his boxes to the limit to create woozy off-kilter jams. Taking influences from the likes of AFX's Analord series, Ceephax's United Acid Emirates, and Bochum Welt, this is an unmissable debut: picturesque, dreamy, and utterly unique. Quite proud of this one -- we worked hard on it. And Mike is such a perfectionist he wanted the release to be as good as it could be. Hope you enjoy!
  19. Digital now available here https://naffrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/on-a-nimbus
  20. Definitely on a deeper tip, no braindance here. Some deep-ish house and dubby techno, some breaky electro-ish, some downtempo... all sounds pretty great to me. https://www.juno.co.uk/products/priori-on-a-nimbus/743710-01/
