Incoming oh so predictable "4th wave" and more lockdowns, surprised that this is a surprise to anyone at this point. Covid must be some alien virus coz it don't act like any virus we've known before.. It's also had this very unique ability to turn science on its head.. incredible! Happy to have my natural immunity and my good health that I've worked so hard for, it allows me to live my life not in fear of whatever the next inevitable variants is that comes our way.. I'd happily sign a waver that I wont use the NHS ever again if it meant that I could be left alone and also not need to pay tax for things I'm no longer allowed access to.

So funny how often I come across people like yourself who'll say something like "humanity is the real disease" and claim themselves to be a nihilist or a misanthrope and at the same time be anti natural selection.. doesn't really add up does it? It's funny you mention being part of the greater good and I see this endlessly echo'd now since the pandemic but I didn't see people doing jack for the greater good prior, everyone was more than happy living their selfish little lives ignoring actual racism, actual threat to the environment, actual issues of inequality and injustice in the world.

Happy to hear this is ending, the fear needs to stop and the world needs to move on and learn to accept this virus like they do with colds / flu even IF it is more harmful, it's not going away, Research should be focused on treatments for those who are infected rather than endlessly chasing the impossible goal of "zero covid" I get that some people think us who're happy for things to be moving towards normal again (yeah right..) think we're selfish but I think the world has been massively selfish in how it's accepted everything that's happened in the last 18 months and the negative impact that it'll have on many generations to come, most of all, the impact this will all have on children. I don't know how many people here experienced trauma as a kid but I did and believe me, it's a life long ordeal to come to terms with and process / let go of, I'd much rather be using my energy else where (like making music!) but instead I so often need to turn my attention towards the trauma as it repeatedly gets in the way of me living my life. Now we're going to have a whole generation of traumatized children who had no say in any of this and it seems to me that no one stopped for a minute to think about the consequences it'd have on them. All this online censorship of professionals doesn't exactly inspire confidence within me for the direction that humanity and our leadership is headed, this has yet again been example of governments taking advantage of an emergency to seize powers that we'll now never get back. Reality is, everyone's going to die, there's a billion different ways it could happen and it could be right NOW that it happens, the majority of us haven't been at more risk over the last 18 months than the rest of our lives (unless you want to include risk of suicide) I find it so hard to believe that everything that's happened in the world over the last 18 months was purely in response to a virus that imposed such a low risk on the majority.

Even if not for the sake of gluten intolerance / sensitivity, sorting ones gut is a life changer, I did the same thing when my gf was doing the diet and there and I noticed a massive decrease in general brain foggyness Man, sucks to hear that you need the Creon and it's so expensive, how long does a bottle generally last you?

Even though it's been years since I finished this one, it's still my latest artwork! I've started several since then which are near completion but I've been too focused on the music side of things to actually get around to finishing them. It's mostly acrylic with a little bit of pen to sharpen the outlines I've also been messing around with photography since, never was too interested in it but now that I treat it more like painting, I really enjoy it!

For anyone who's just gluten sensitive / intolerant (not celiac) I recommend looking into rebalancing gut microflora / leaky gut / things you can do to help the health of your gut lining. My GF was having really severe reactions to wheat / rye (not spelt for some reason) after having been on proton pump inhibitors for way longer than one's supposed to which damaged her gut (medical incompetence). After strictly dieting for almost a year as well as eating foods / supplements that help kill candida overgrowth and then eating foods that help heal gut (lots of collagen like bone broth) she eventually and quite suddenly one day was able to eat these foods again and has been smashing the gluten ever since after spending so long being completely unable to eat the smallest amount (even soy sauce could set her off) Happy to give more info for anyone who's going through something similar

ah right, yeah I remember looking at an SK-1 here in the UK a few years back and the prices were already well over £100 then but to hear it go that high is mental.. I guess it has some hipster appeal (seen a few indieish bands using them) and they tend to have a lot to spend.

Used gear prices have gone crazy over the pandemic, pretty much pointless to buy right now (though maybe things will also get much worse haha..) There's a few bits now and then which make be GAS a bit, wouldn't mind that TD3-MO but also really don't need it or anything and should mainly be looking at selling some stuff like my Tracker and surplus Blokas Midihub.. all my gear will be useless if I don't have a place to keep it or food to sustain me using it ?

Man I want to buy that thing but hard to justify it right now as there's prob better things to invest my money in with how the world is haha..

I use Architect on my laptop to clock / control all my gear, I'll use a combination of various tricks along with its linear sequencing to put songs together. I used to use hardware sequencers but found it a pain for doing anything other than jamming songs live which isn't really how I wanted to work.

Got around to uploading all my stuff to Bandcamp (took forever with my slug of an internet!) I've got everything on name your price and am happy for people to get it all for free, there's a lot of new stuff and old stuff that wasn't up on my soundcloud, probably not going to continue bothering with soundcloud at this point. Recently had a very creative period and finished a bunch of tracks and will probably get back on it again soon if I can find the time.

I own one and thought I'd chime in, I really like it but it also has a way to go before I'd use it much together with the rest of my gear for making music, I do think it's still pretty buggy even with the latest firmware with things like inconsistent playback being a bit of a pain (I play the song back twice and it sounds a bit different each time) Polyend have supported it a ton though and I'm sure they'll nail the firmware in time.

Two that're worth considering (They're my personal favourites) are the Kodamo EFM and the Motas-6. The first being a deep FM synth with more voices than you'd ever need. The second being probably the deepest analog mono on the market and it sounds really nice too. I could go on for days about both of them (specially the motas) but will save that for if you want to hear more haha

It's funny that you keep mentioning things I own / have owned haha.. I have the Blokas midihub too (shifted a lot of gear around last year) and it's a really great box, I probably would've bought a cheaper solution if I'd known I was going to end up using Architect as I can do all the things I'd use it for within it but I bought it when I owned the Pyramid and it adds some incredible features which you can also sequence from your pyramid (things can get very crazy like this!) I'll let you know if I find anything good in terms of controllers, I'm hoping to find something that'll kind of match Architects level of flexibility so I can set up a number of different ways of the two interfacing with each other. There's some MPE controllers that look like they could potentially be interesting in this regard. I really enjoy the Tracker, if you're looking for something self contained, I can't actually imagine it getting much better than this. Out of all the gear I have, it is the best / fastest at doing interesting things with samples so I tend to use it for textural stuff when using it together with the rest of my music stuff. I got mine from the first batch and have had no complaints about hardware at all, the software is definitely on the buggy side but they're also constantly working on it which I admire them for, they've also added a ton of really good new features since release and apparently still have big plans for it so I'm sure it'll mature into something very special. The majority of people I've heard from who own one absolutely love theirs, I'm sure you would too if the tracker approach appeals to you. Haha, yeah that screenshot does not do it justice and tbh, if you saw any of my patches, you'd probably run a mile as they are a mess! but still, it clicked really fast for me and I find it enjoyable to work with. The reason I find it easier to structure things in it is because in my tracks, things usually happen as a result of something else and this kind of approach is really easy to set up within Architect, like for example, I can set up a counter that counts the number of steps that've passed and then I can use that number to trigger various events rather than placing events on a linear grid. For some reason, typing in a bunch of numbers as to when things will happen makes a lot more sense to me. I think the things I do could probably be done a lot easier / faster in something else though! Back to the Pyramid, I just hear that they're working on a new firmware 4.0 for it, maybe that'll sort out a bunch of my perceived short comings as they've said that it'll be focusing more on stability and that kind of thing (I think they'll probably improve the song mode too)

One thing that really helped me get more out of the Pyramid is to take advantage of the Pyramidi stuff, Muting / unmuting tracks with CC and flicking back and forth between various patterns with CC, I liked that you could set the behavior of tracks to either restart or be always running in the background but I wished there was a gated mode too. I actually only use my computer for sequencing and nothing else, I'm controlling up to about 10 pieces of gear and so far have not had any issues with timing at all or at least, much less so than when I was using the Pyramid for certain things. I too could never go fully ITB either in that I find the whole process inspiring. I do miss the tactility of a hardware sequencer though! I'm looking into options of what'd be a flexible controller to use together with Architect. I actually have the Tracker too, I really like it but it's also massively underpowered compared to a computer, I don't think it'd be that much a better option for complex sequencing than the pyramid but on the other hand, it'd make those random flourishes a lot easier. One thing to note with it though is that it's pretty buggy as it currently stands, I've decided to put mine away until it stabilizes a bit. I'd give Architect a go if it appeals to you at all, I'm actually stupid when it comes to computers and I've really not found the learning curve bad at all, somehow I find it much easier to structure tracks in it compared to a DAW and infinitely so compared to hardware sequencing.
