  1. Yeah, she'd heard of them before, she was completely blown away by the gig and loved it, too!
  2. (Don't know if this has been posted before. Searched the board but didn't find anything. Hope this is news for you!) Been binge-watching documentaries on the Middle Ages for two months now. Then I came across this one here. About 5 minutes in, I thought "Wait, I've seen this somewhere before?". And then I realised: This is the stuff from Camelot Chronicles! Andy seems to have sourced all the footage for the Camelot Chronicles from this old documentary! Ignore the AI slop cover image, this is a legit old documentary. I love old documentaries, they're pleasantly slow and relaxing. Finally, you too can listen to the Acid Historian! (Great voice by the way)
  3. Hey! That sun through clouds thing is EXACTLY how I've felt about them for years, too! Since Exai, to be precise. Coincidentally, that's also my favourite weather, I love the constant changes in brightness, and how the shadows keep changing all the time. Maybe these constant changes are part of why I feel like this, their music has become really fluid and organic in the past decade or so. Think you're spot on with the suppressed melodies there, hadn't thought of that. It's incredible how these sets are working, both on macro- and microlevel, from overall structure down to the smallest details. Seems to me in certain spots like electronic music tropes like build-ups, breakdowns, drops are being applied to the length of an entire concert. Just gave Dublin a few listens since yesterday. I'd been there and wanted to wait with going through a bootleg. But by Jove, what a night. And that guy screaming at the top his lungs at the end He's right, you know? That night means a lot to me as this was practically my first date with the wonderful girl who now is my girlfriend. I have a whole lot of good feelings about this concert. Can't wait for them soundboards!
  4. Apologies for reviving an old thread here but old Blues is just too good. OK I'll stop now.
  5. Thanks for posting, these interviews are always great!
  6. Definitely a sit down thing for them But yeah, depends on what they're playing, maybe on venue, too. 2005 tour was wild with loads of people dancing, less so in 2008 but it still had people getting into it. 2016 was mostly sitting, All of these were Berlin for me. I think 2005 was still clubs that people just got to for some electronic music, while today, if you go to see Ae, you will know and want to see them. The massive increase in ticket prices really does something to who the audience is going to be. Seems also to depend on the city, didn't they say in droid's interview that people in Dublin always "get it"? I was there last year and people really did enjoy it, iirc there was a lot of at least warm-up movement on the dancefloor during the second half.
  7. Yeah I'm thinking about the HOLIDAY ACID one, too. I'll be in the UK over Easter, so I can even order and pick it up there, saving me the outrageous post-Brexit postage. It's been years that I've bought a shirt with this many colours (4, including fabric).
  8. Absolutely no dates for Germany.. What's going on there?
  9. Got this mail the other day, some nice ones there. https://ceephax.teemill.com/
  10. Also, Copenhagen added. 6th October. Tickets on sale from tomorrow, 10AM. Instabuy!! I'll be seeing them twice in one year
  11. Riven. How on earth have I never played this? It's incredible. Quitting weed has made me stop dopamine rush games altogether, I just find them really boring now. Played through Myst for the first time in my life in February, absolutely loved it. But Riven is the real deal.
  12. Yes, this one. Not a surprise actually, now that I'm hearing it again. I love it when artists have recurring things in their work. I remember back on the og joyrex forum, someone complained about rdj re-using a sample from the Windowlicker equation track in 54 Cymru Beats. Never knew what the issue was.
  13. Imagine a life without gonk steady one. Not for me lolmao! I must have been listening to this in its entirety for at least a 100 times in my life so far. 2 more times have just been added. Pointing out some highlights here: 00:00 From those first few seconds, you know it. There's no way something that starts like this isn't absolute fucking killer. There's this thing rattling throughout the track, I've described it as a big shimmering robotic moth elsewhere here, and I'm luvin' it luvin' it luvin' it. But that's only what I am seeing in my mind here; What I am hearing, however, is an extreme form of what the vengAe boys did on ccec: Create something unintelligible that starts rhyming and rapping, in what I assume must be ancient Egyptian hexadecimal code. But now, it's not derived from a human voice anymore. Shit is wild! 02:34 What's this? Sounds like something outside in the distance is shooting up into the skies. Some thin and beautiful threads. Or traces/trails of objects that are being fired off towards the clouds? Might be fireworks (or spider silk). 04:05 - 04:38 For a short while, the incessantly chaotic motion stabilizes a bit. Is this the chorus?? 06:14 - 06:25 I always scat along here lel, I'm 100% serious btw. Makes me think Scatman John (R.I.P.) should have gotten the chance to do a cover version of gonk steady one. 07:31 Sorry, can't type right now, busy headbanging + playing air guitar. 10:45 WHAT THE FUCK??? How can this one simple note be so beautiful?? Now that's a drop. In the literal sense: A massive blob of honey just dropped right into my pleasure centre. Even my goosebumps are bumping now. I think that it's night time all of a sudden. These honeydrops are actually big signal lights lighting up in the distance. Colours: Between red and purple. 12:00 Oh look/listen, the spider silk fireworks are back, but now they're going horizontal somehow, in unstable lines. 12:23 I love it when you stutter for me baby. 15:58 4 seconds of intense transformation as the snare was getting somewhat restless, and wanted to have its parameters changed. Wish granted! 16:45 Although it took a step to the side of the stage, the rapping robot moth is enjoying itself a lot here, as it momentarily starts to giggle. 17:55 Will wonders never cease? It's that melody from the 2016 live sets!! I'm not asking, I'm telling; Don't @ me. 18:39 What a session. No more rapping or giggling. Just exhausted wheezing in pure bliss over all the beauty that has unfolded since 00:00. 19:30 The snare hasn't told you but it dropped some acid at the start of the track. It's looking into a mirror now, to the usual results. 20:13 Robot moth suddenly caught in a fit of laughing until it's crying. I think the snare might have spiked its drink with some of that acid, all in good fun between friends ofc. Snare tells robot moth and they're hugging and laughing. 22:22 Our work here is done. Beam us up Sean + Rob! 22 minutes. 25 seconds. Millions of new neurological pathways formed. This track fucking rules. It's so alien and futuristic, yet so visceral and funky-groovy. It's as if you're watching Arrival but suddenly, the aliens start rapping and breaking. Sounds to me like a proper block party if thrown by Autechre. The way the entities are taking turns feels so much like they're having some sort of breakdance battle or freestyle session going. One after another, everyone is showing their moves, with the other guys standing in a cipher, bopping their heads, clappin' and snappin'. A prime example of Autechre showing their Electro roots without ever being trapped within the confines of any genre. Fuck yeah, I'm pressing PLAY again.

Giving the Bergen set a proper listen for the first time in the long time right now. Suddenly realising that what starts at 24:26 is a version of c16 deep tread! Mind properly blown. It's all there, the exquisitely shaped, metallic hi-pitch snare, the bursts of auto-fire kicks, how have I not noticed before??
  15. Fuck yeah! Thanks for posting, I didn't notice. Always loved them. Learned about them years ago through browsing discogs as half of this group was in Death Come Crew with Rammellzee.
  16. Put That Head Out It's only half of the original track but it's great to watch the Funkmaster in all his glory.
  17. You will Jack your penis virtually jack your penis jack your virtual penis virtually jack your virtual penis Fourfold pleasure, with all pleasure experienced uploaded to the cloud in lossless quality, downloadable for all humanity until the end of time.
  18. Have to say that whenever I've seen them live and then heard recordings afterwards (or the other way around): It is always exquisitely tuned to the venue. Last time for me was Dublin, and Dublin was second half of London B and then new stuff I hadn't heard before and I was amazed at how well it came over. It's still a completely different thing. Sure, it's different material, but it seems like they always aim for the very best in their soundchecks, so I'll just go ahead and assume that the A set must be a real trip, especially in the dark. That said, so far I'm not as fond of A as I am of B, either.
  19. Yeah I was being sloppy and hyperbole there, there's more to film and its history ofc. Think I also read somewhere that David Lynch called it an artform that combines all artforms. It's sound, image, narrative, and beyond what would strictly be called art, architecture, fashion design, and more. The novelty aspect had to wear off for it to become an artform in its own right. The step from "wow, we can do this!" to "okay, so what are we actually doing with this?".
  20. Whole album is great Has a killer intro, too!
  21. 3-part documentary on Run DMC coming up Edit: more history:
