  1. Really, both American and UK versions of The Office are great. When the UK one first aired I'd seen nothing like it before and it was groundbreaking in that sense but I find the American one way more watchable overall. Whereas the UK one had a somewhat serious/depressing undertone, the American one opts for slapstick silliness, which although sometimes goes overboard, I think it sits well with the original concept. Its massive though, and goes through a slump or two along the way but it also gives us us loads of characters who are more fleshed out and get way more screen time than the periferal characters of the UK version. Dwight alone makes the whole thing worth it!
  2. Box Of Moonlight Great little film. Turturro is excellent as always but especially like him in this, Sam Rockwell too and I'm head over heels in love with Catherine Keener's Floatie character. Pairs well with Lawn Dogs, different director but similarly dreamy, small town America feel.
  3. The Tindler Swindler. Fun little docu about a mischievous dude who likes to swindle the ladies, loved it.
  4. I just discovered something that should've been a no brainer: doritos on pizza, right under the melted cheese.
  5. ilqx, you seem to know alot about socialism and whatnot, and have a real passion for it. Sum up your stuff in an essay type thang for all to peruse at leisure, instead of tidbits that unfortunately often end up sparking an argumentative atmos. peace bruv
  6. Yeah I'm enjoying it, haven't seen Lost though. Think I'll wait with watching more till the whole thing's released then binge it up. Started watching Mare Of Easttown which is pretty good too, mainly the gritty, autumny small town American atmosphere and Kate Winslet who's rocking it as a surly cop who likes to vape.
  7. Dam, so there is! nice ) Yeah Ben Stiller's good for sure, but it's hard to trace his influence (as we know it) in Severance. Maybe his dark side is on full show here, which makes me hope he'll let that side out more often in the future. On closer inspection though, imdb only lists him as executive producer on the season 1 episodes, so yeah maybe it's mainly the work of this Aoife McArdie/Dan Erickson.
  8. I've always kinda wished they'd play tracks or extended versions of tracks already released for their live shows, instead of brand new unheard of material. Or at least do both, like have longer (all nite?) sets where they jam out selected tracks from their catalogue before easing into unknown territory towards the end of the set.
  9. Aye, looks like there's at least another season in the works https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11280740/episodes/?ref_=tt_ov_epl
  10. first season of Severance was interesting, can't believe Ben Stiller directed lol
  11. Luckily there's enough goodness around in the paranoid brother and Breaking Bad characters to counter Kim Wexler, who's the human equivalent of paint drying
  12. M39 Diffain inspired by 'rain hitting surfaces' while Rob was en route to a gig (as I recall)
  13. Radii sneakers actually look pretty awesome https://www.sneakerhead.com/collections/radii-archive
  14. ^ bring on the Can D! No, it should remain within the realm of literature/imagination. Silly boys with toys (and too much money)
  15. Talk of house prices in Canada, couldn't help thinking of Trailer Park Boys. How viable an option is that price wise up there?
  16. gradually and pretty randomly sifting through their discog these days. Reminds me more of the droney aspects of Coil/NWW and some of the old kranky label artists like Godspeed, Silver Mt. Zion etc. than BoC really thanks a whole heap tho for the thread!
  17. but ofc, you tell them that the obscure title schtick is a jedi mind trick to help you focus on the music by minimising foregone linkages based on traditionally decipherable song titles ^^
  18. I remember one of them brushing off the notion that their music was for 'the initiated only' or something, but it seems theres some truth to it. Not that you need to be especially smart to enjoy it, on the contrary I feel it speaks to something childlike or primal in us. And of course, there is an excitement about one's favourite band being quite unknown, like being in a special club xD
  19. You're probably right, I'm just a hopeless romantic hehe
  20. 'The Dead Center' all looks alright on paper but totally lacks momentum, never really finds a unique vibe and plays out like a sub par x files episode. At one point I thought it might be getting somewhere but then it was over and I realised I'd spent most of the movie thinking about how much the lead psychiatrist guy resembled what the end result of an experiment involving pouring Keanu Reeves into a Thom Yorke shaped recepticle must look like. probably ripe for Brian's poop collection.
  21. this shows got some serious game. Perfect casting/writing and energy between the actors and every scene with Mark Heap is pure joy to witness since he's basically the same character as he was in Green Wing
