  1. The reverse of this is what I've written about earlier - it's also about the consumers thinking that the 11,99 (6,49) €/month entitles them to any and all music the world has to offer, which devalues the work of the artists and lines the pockets of extraction capitalists like Ek. All the streaming and on-demand services have built a divide between producers and consumers by hammering home the idea that you don't want or need to purchase to own a (physical) copy of anything, because you can rent everything on a monthly basis so that the rent-seeking tech-bros can cash in on other people's work by providing the oh-so-indispensable service of on-demand delivery, making serfs and peons out of both artists and their audiences - artists because it's almost impossible not to give in to the demands of the services and audiences because it's so cheap that it's almost impossible not to pay so little to get so... much... music. Greedy "service" providers, greedy audiences by proxy - the artists lose.
  2. That's what I meant, it's good to be a Finn because you need to learn foreign languages and our school system fulfils that need. The mandatory Swedish issue is a different thing altogether (and Swedish is a Germanic language so there's a benefit, albeit a small one).
  3. It's good to be a Finn, it's very necessary to learn other languages to get by in the world - our school system mandates one elective language, then Swedish for Finnish-speaking natives (and Finnish for Swedish-speaking ones), and in addition about everyone takes at least one more additional elective language - so we pick up at least three languages besides Finnish before we're 15.
  4. Those of you that have the Nuron/Fugue Likemind 02 vinyl - is your Fugue side of the record pressed off-center, making Interlagos' pitch wobble considerably on each rotation (and Contrapoint a bit less)? Mine is and I'm wondering how widespread it is - it's going to be amazing to get Interlagos sounding right with the new edition.
  5. A grab bag of IDM, ambient and DnB from Love Horses, The Jaffa Kid, Whylie and Bot1500.
  6. Ambient soundscapes from Finnish producer Jani R.
  7. Fifth release from Curtis Electronix, deep melodic electro from Italian duo 3KZ. Vinyl only. Recommended.
  8. Samuel Van Dijk's (Mohlao, VC-118A) ambient alias Multicast Dynamics' new album on a new label. Highly recommended.
  9. I have to say that I've been extremely - but positively, of course - surprised that Nuron has activated after such a long time, and producing new material as well. La Source EPs are absolutely fantastic, Nuron's still got it. Still waiting for Beaumont Hannant's comeback, probably in vain.
  10. It's my utmost favourite from Nuron as well. It has the most play wear of my Likemind vinyls. I think I'll need at least two copies of this.
  11. A new Asymmetrical Head, back after 6+ years of retirement.
  12. OMFG. I feel giddy. This will be a vinyl only release from Likemind, but I have it on good authority that digital will be available from Nuron's Bandcamp after the vinyl's sold out.
  13. First language: Finnish (native) Second language: Russian (elective first foreign language at school from, 9 years old; basic proficiency due to disuse) Third language: Swedish (compulsory at school from 13 years old, Finland is bilingual; basic proficiency due to disuse) Fourth language: English (second elective language at school from 14 years old; fluent UK/US vernacular) Bits and pieces of French, Italian, German, Latin and Japanese, would love to freshen up Russian and learn more Japanese.
  14. The Bandcamp release email was delivered (at least to me) at 10:50 PM, and when I got my copy there were 3 left, and I received the purchase verification email at 10:52 PM. My vacillating on the postage almost made my FOMO a reality.
  15. AF038LP - μ-zig - Scurlage
  16. The Bandcamp live stream was awesome, and the album is pure gold.
