  1. That wasn't overt enough for you?
  2. Musicians are still getting screwed over by streaming services (Input) Don't use them. Just don't. Please.
  3. Underselling the Vaccine (NYT)
  4. I did a few spot-checks on the video's subs and they're passable, they're not that nuanced so most probably a first pass was done with a machine translator, then someone checked everything and made it flow better. Although I studied it for 7-8 years I haven't used Russian that much so I'm a bit rusty, but I can still understand enough to say that the translation is good enough.
  5. A vertiable cornucopia of electronics from ambient through breaks to techno - and more. Recommended.
  6. Max Richter: Tiny Desk (Home) Concert (NPR Music)

    Electro

Here's my latest batch of electro acquisitions.
  8. Finland has paid over 12 million € in damages to 460 people who got adverse side-effects (out of which 11,6 million for narcolepsy) from Pandemrix. The Finnish government has earmarked 30 million €/year for COVID-19 vaccine compensations, 300 million € in the long term (here's the article with the figures through Google Translate from Finnish to English).
  9. There is already a thread, straight from the source.
  10. And you don't understand sarcasm.
  11. On the Long, Baseless History of Anti-Vaccination Movements (LitHub)
  12. I've got a soft spot for the wee djs [sic], I've got all the Gassolines and SCSI-AVs, but he's been so prolific with This Machine Is Broken (named after his track on the first release on the Penalty series) that I've skipped most. This is great, though, so +1 from me as well.
  13. I was listening to Microgravity today and The Fairy Tale has from at around 3:04 (and again at 4:04) a breakbeat loop with a synth lead pattern that I knew I knew, but it took a while for me to find the source; it isn't mentioned anywhere, so I had to dig it up - it's from The Alliance's Thoughts Of You (Club Mix), 1989.
  14. Spacious glitchy & crunchy percussive electronics. Recommended.
  15. 12th instalment in Neotantra's V/A ambient series. Affordable.
  16. No, just one of them - the last one, called Railer - a version of it is the first track of Planetary Assault Systems' The Messenger. All the other tracks are only available on the test pressings of Playing With Fools. There's an interview where Slater says that the album is buried. There's a comment on the release page from FurthurElectronix:
  17. Amazing find, thank you. Now, if only someone leaked a decent rip of Playing With Fools... Slater's not going to release it, ever. I'd like to at least hear it.
