My fav of the non-ae-sounding gescom tracks (probably Bola on this one?)
  2. I guess preparing a 16-hour album does take a fair bit of time...
  3. Pretty annoying how they removed the "Reject all" option from the cookies popup, now you have to individually click to reject each one every time. And I mean every time. Soundcloud could be so great but they find lots of little ways to make it shitty lol
  4. The latest from Matthewdavid. Almost missed this. Very textural, mostly beatless, psychedelic, gorgeous. Based on experiences with psychedelic mushrooms. There's a montly-subscription to LEAVING RECORDS option that includes a massive slab of back catalogue and access to everything new they release. I was really into their stuff about ten years ago and feeling a big revival coming. Fantastic label, and MD always delivers. He also put out "On Mushrooms" earlier this year

Yeah we wanna get forehead slappy
  6. Oh yeah there's a lot of gold in that batch too. Meeting in the Aisle is such a cool and weird anomaly of a track. Polyethylene was an old fav as well. Hmm this takes me back

SpTh will always remind me of a time in early lockdown when I was walking around usually-busy streets and everything was deserted, like a creepy ghost town. It fit the vibe perfectly.
  8. The Amnesiac b-sides are all stellar. Fast-track, the Amazing Sounds of Orgy, Trans-Atlantic Drawl, Kinetic, Worrywort, Cuttooth, Fog. Some are better than stuff that ended up on the album, imo. What a great period that was. I bought a lot of those singles on CD. They're worthless now of course but at the time I thought I was a cool collector
  9. What's up with that cover? The Orb have gone WOKE?!!?!
  10. This came up in my "check this out later" pile and I'm quite sure it must have been a watmm recommendation, but I have no idea what thread I saw it in. Is this one of you? Anyway, really nice jams.
  11. Whenever I hear anyone say "lush" to describe music I immediately think of the intro to this track. The epitome of lushness. The pads "drop" halfway through Jumbo is also the epitome of lushness. When they fall to Eb maj it's like sinking into a cloud. I know these are relatively generic picks, might come back with some deeper cuts when I have time. Cool thread
  12. Absolute classic track and album, nothing can touch it. Picked it up in '99 and Karl's observational and stream of consciousness lyrics were revolutionary for me as a young teen. This new track is just really boring and lifeless, and seems to be referencing the past but in the most uninspired sounding way. If it was another Drift project I'm sure it would fit in, but if this is the first single off what is sure to be a hyped up album, it's a pretty weak start. IMO The other ones in that live set could turn out all right though ?
