  1. Getting into Autechre was probably the single most significant music listening moment for me that's shaped my tastes so much ever since. I used to stop by a cd store on the way home from university and check out whatever was on the listening station and was drawn to the black box artwork of LP5. I gave it a listen and was confused but intrigued but not enough to buy it. The next day i stopped by again and gave it another go and bought it. LP5 remains my fave Autechre album with Amber close behind then Chiastic Slide. I'm pretty new here so explaining my autechre preferences overall i'd say I favour their output up until Confield the most but Elseq and NTS are right up there too. I pretty much like all their output though. They are my favourite band ?
  2. i could have easily chosen "i like both" but went with Sign because i want to return to it more often and think that'll only increase as time goes on. While the quality of both releases are great (perhaps equally so) I think Sign has a really different sound and feel to anything ae has put out before. that's not to say Plus has nothing new to offer because it certainly does but just not as much as Sign
  3. I really love how Sign flows from Metaz form8 onwards... especially if you add N Cur at the end. First half is nice too but of the 2 new albums i like the 2nd half of sign the most
  4. I like this! Probably won't wind up being top tier 0PN for me but a nice surprise after not being super into Age Of and only being luke warm on the recent soundtrack work. GoD and R+7 are my faves because i really liked how challenging they were for me at first. I couldn't get into Age Of but appreciated how he was trying to take another leap on that album. This seems a little less ambitious than his past 3 albums and a part of me feels a little let down by that but that's ok. in time i'll probably be happier with a safe but quality album than an ambitious but flawed album like Age Of was
  5. Liking this a lot after a few listens. marhide and ecol4 are my jams at present. I'd love the boys to put out some more lo-fi jams like marhide. The one track that's getting a lot of love on here which hasn't revealed itself to me yet is X4 but i'm sure i'll come around
