  1. Yeah, moebius is probably my favorite. It’s crazy how much stuff I loved growing up that he was a part of. The Rene Laloux movies (moebius worked on time masters) are pretty much the all time greatest creations.
  2. https://www.hlj.com/figma-dobkeratops-r-type-fre29840 I really dig the music in R-Type, if my studio wasn’t strictly decorated with robots I would get this.
  3. They are ok, but they don’t come close to living up to how cool the art is. Got them at half price books for 25 cents. I see a lot of good stuff in this thread! @Rubin Farr: Doomsday Clock was amazing, don’t believe what the interwebs haters say about it. Bringing the characters into the mainstream continuity was awesome. Especially with Johns at the helm. His Green Lantern run could be my favorite of all time- which is also pulling from old Alan Moore material (get DC Universe By Alan Moore if u don’t have it!) Also- Gaiman’s Eternals is great, up in my favorites as well. @dcom: Morrison is awesome. I loved Nameless, Multiversity, 52 (all his DC stuff, really), Marvel Boy and Skrull Kill Krew. Idk if any of u have read his GL run- but it’s pretty sweet. It’s classic Morrison insanity, so u don’t really need to know much going in. I guess it helps reading his other crazy DC stuff, there are some call backs to Multiversity and Final Crisis. I still like Geoff John’s GL the best, but the art and craziness of Morrison and Liam Sharp is pretty fucking rad. It changes throughout the series too, going from more classic styles to modern, but remaining trippy as hell the whole time:
  4. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/223763/ataris-centipede nice- space invaders looks awesome
  5. Got this at an antique festival in Amish country, hahaha. $1 Used to have it on cassette back in the day, but never “upgraded” to cd
  6. My opinion on Behringer keeps changing. I’ve probably mentioned some of this before- hated the mixers back in the day for no reason other than everyone said they were trash. Then I ended up using a small Behringer mixer a few times randomly playing live, and honestly thought it was just fine. We had been using a mackie and a carvin- and the Behringer was just as good. Cut to 2007 and I randomly got a Behringer patchbay. I have four different brands, and I think the Behringer is the best. But still….. seemed like a shitty brand, just because of the bad reputation. Then they started making synths. Originally I was like “no, fuck them”. But then, I realized I was being stupid, and they never did anything bad to me. If anything, I had nothing but positive experiences with them. Still, I was skeptical. So- I convinced one of my friends to get the neutron when it came out. I thought it was pretty cool. Definitely worth the value. If you are into Eurorack, it is super useful, and you could never get all that functionality for that cheap. Also another friend of mine got the crave. Didn’t really mess with it much, except for experimenting with my maths and making some pretty noisy shit. Which it did well, but was maybe more the maths. I decided I would get the pro1 and the td3. The pro1 is a pretty damn accurate clone, seems well built, and the original is too expensive and fragile. The td3 I got just because it was cheap and it adds another midi port onto my akai mpc live. I’m very happy with the pro1, and the td3 is cool too, mainly I like the sequencer. So- at this point I’m happy with them. Similar to my relationship with champion clothing, I changed my tune and became a fan of something that seemed generic and shitty beforehand. Then……. I got the vocoder. Time to try out a keyboard, not just a module. The first one came and had a wonky key. The key itself was raised higher than the others. Still sounded ok, but for the price- I sent it back for a new one. Then it came and one of the keys felt weird. Also their was something banging around in the box. I realized it was a weight under the key that had fallen off. Sent it back and got another one. Finally one that was perfect. But….. pretty annoying. To sum it up- they make pretty good affordable clones and random things from a utilitarian perspective. But the builds are shitty and weak, so I wouldn’t ever get anything with keys, or that you are gonna play live with.
  7. I think that these have producers reeling you in ultimately to buy products (like media in general) but they have more control and are in charge of the “play” that is happening. Almost sadistically knowing when, if you’re watching “lifestyles of the rich and famous”, your jealousy levels will be thrown off. On the more personalized concept- something like Facebook (while still media trying to make money with ads or whatever) has no real control over those levels. It’s hard to articulate- but there is a huge difference. But, also- idk as much about this stuff because I gave up with social media during MySpace. Never done fb, ig, or any of that shit. This forum and some random music gear forums, and I suppose a little Reddit is all I do Just know that most of these fucks are liars. Not worth getting pissed at!

  9. I’m currently trying to finish up this post, so I can start another book. For real tho- Tom King and Mitch Gerard’s “Strange Adventures” has been awesome. Finished King’s Mr. Miracle and this is a great follow up, but the art isn’t as good as Mr. Miracle.
  10. The ending is awesome. This song is seriously good, man! The video, too
  11. There are a lot of reasons that I dislike Pitchfork- but the fact that they shit all over drukqs really sealed the deal. It also caused this annoying sea of followers complaining about the album, who I’m pretty sure didn’t even listen to it. It’s such a good album, and I consider it to be almost a “grand finale” to idm. Like- electronic music can almost be broken up into “post-drukqs” and “pre-drukqs”
  12. I was pretty shocked when they pulled the d&d episode of community off Netflix and Hulu. I ended up buying the season randomly at half price books on a whim. I’ll probably collect everything like that now. Well- I mean if it’s something I like a lot. I have some Chris Lilley shows on dvd and simpsons season 3 that I won’t sell now. I originally had them listed on eBay, but then I realized those episodes are just gone from the digital world.
  13. Another good shipp performance. Around 17:00 it gets really cool
  14. Pretty awesome- similar to that fairlight one
  15. This pedal already exists- it’s called the metal zone
  16. Yeah, so far it has been really good. Even tho some of the boomer type stuff you mentioned happens a lot- the pair of those old bastards haven’t done anything this good/funny in years. Plus it’s really entertaining and has good mystery and plot (so far). The music is good, but really catchy, sticks in your head, drives you crazy. I still like it tho. It’s been playing in my head since the second I read this. Hulu is generally doing really well with their original series IMO. So far Y has been awesome- the music is really good too. Also just finished White Lotus on HBO- I thought it was pretty good.
