@Squee I've played the first Dishonored and (new) Wolfenstein, so I sorta know what to expect. I'm not entirely through Doom, but I guess I'm gonna buy eternal at some point. What I find so great about Far Cry is the opportunity to explore, and to some extent choose when to go into battles. Doom is fun but exhausting.

A lot of good suggestions. I guess Titanfall and Prey looks most interesting. I've been thinking of Dying Light, but like Doom, I'm not sure if it's good for my blood pressure. It's most about running away from zombies?

Generation Zero really looks like somthing I'd enjoy, but the reviews seems really poor.

It certainly has its moments but as long as you don’t get stuck out at night it’s not too intense. Certainly not like Doom. You spend a lot of time doing cool parkour and enjoying the sights.

Need suggestions for what FPS I should play next.

-I have no interest in online/co-op gaming. Only singleplayer campaigns.

-1st person only. Not a fan of 3rd person games.

-Exploration/open world is nice. Some story is nice too. I like Far Cry better than DOOM.

I bought a PS4 right before the Corona lockdown, and what I've played so far is Far Cry5/New Dawn (I absolutely love FC), Metro Exodus (ok, but had some flaws), DOOM, COD WW2 (ok, but I've played too many war games).

Thinking about Dishonored 2, and the latest Wolfenstein, but I'm open to suggestions.

I will never stop recommending Dying Light, after Half Life 2 it’s my favourite. I wish I could erase it from my brain so I could experience the joy of playing it for the first time.

The most frustrating thing is the inevitability of her claiming to be the victim when Daddy is either dead or in prison, turning her back on her current weird MAGA mob and trying to get in with the “liberal” mainstream crowd.

call me an ignorant and put me on ignore, really nice move... it just goes to show...

No idea what this means. Dead Snow is great fun, give it a watch, if it goes well meet me back here for a beer.

Fine. I’ve never understood the appeal of Stranger Things, there has been a discussion here before where a few of us felt that perhaps you should go to the original source rather than a gimmick show which grows worse with every season, but it’s kind of fun so whatever. However, your critiques on a South Korean film expose your own ignorance of the conventions of their cinema. It’s like criticising a Bollywood film for having music in it. I’ll put you on ignore after this as evidently that’ll  be for the best for both of us.

stunning fight sequences, really cool camera work, extremely violent, but the shifts in tone in the narrative were kinda unnecessary and off putting... there was too much plot...

Have you watched any South Korean cinema before?

The mandalorian - what a pile of boring childish crap... there's no story... sloppy dull fight scene choreography, machine guns and explosions... the mandalorian behaved like a true ignoramus rex... couldn't care less about any of the characters... not even the fantastic vfx could save this trash...

Did you use to have a different profile name? It says you’ve been a member for years but I’ve not noticed you before.

I do actually like the gross creature shit in The Thing(1982) because it shocks you more to see a gross physical object, even if you can tell it's fake, a lot of CGI still looks faker to the instincts in your brain, like an uncanny valley. That was a dumb way to explain something I think is quite real to lots of people who watch movies and series. CGI blood isn't the same, imo and sometimes the old stuff can be refreshing *drinks CGI blood*

This difference was best illustrated when they made that The Thing prequel recently and the effects looked shite.

  9. The comical piece has a massive blind spot. We have a PM who people think have wit but has never actually said anything funny, he just has silly hair. We are masters of irony yet the masses not seem to notice the hypocrisy of clapping for the NHS whilst voting for a party that have gut it and are looking for the first opportunity to sell it. The reality is in recent years we have just been slightly behind the US in terms of making stupid choices, but we soon manage it.
