The Fires of Ork - The Fires of Ork (repress) - April 5th, 2024
NI64 replied to chenGOD's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
For what its worth their reissues are absolutely worth every penny. The level of care and attention to detail they put into each release is unmatched. When I got Air II it shipped with tons of extra goodies - NASA memorabilia, art prints, vintage 70s stamps, a handwritten note, 3 free download codes for other FAX releases, all on top of it looking and sounding utterly incredible. Will be buying everything they put out no questions asked. -
If you zoom in on the label it says "© Warp Records 2024". Subtle hint??

Hello Everything is excellent. I might even like it more than Ultravisitor. At the very least its a much more digestible listen. I certainly return to it more often.

Yeah it's 3. For some reason there was a 1xLP for sale under Hello Everything. Sold out now though. We'll never know!

PSA - Was pre-ordering just now and scrolling through the Squarepusher site. Apparently you can get a copy of Hello Everything on vinyl for...$15?! It says 1xLP though, so maybe its just a mislabeled CD or something. No clue. I already have a copy or I'd take the chance to find out.

Crazy timing, I was just listening to Be Up A Hello on the way home and thinking about how well its held up compared to his last few for me. The retro pixel style has me expecting this will follow the same vein? Super excited for this

Oval - Now/Never/Whenever Vol.1 - November 3 only!
NI64 replied to chenGOD's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I feel like I repeatedly I find myself being reminded of how creative and groundbreaking his work is. Some of these recent volumes have made me reconsider the 'O'-era stuff too, which I had dismissed at the time as not for me. Maybe I should go back and give it another shot. -
Album was amazing, will definitely be picking this up.

VHS Head - Phasia [EP], Digital Out Now, Vinyl 12/8
NI64 replied to YELLOW's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I guess I meant like a standard black vinyl release. I took that to just mean vinyl, CD, digital. But I'll wait and see. -

Wonder if this will get a non-picture disc version. I usually try to avoid those if I can. -
Microstoria - init ding + _snd (Mille Plateaux, remaster + repress)
NI64 replied to dcom's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Excited for this, these are both great albums. Very abstract and minimal, but I keep coming back to them over the years. It' hard to describe, but there's something mysterious and haunting buried in there. Empty but still human. Relaxing and unnerving at the same time- 8 replies

Oval - Now/Never/Whenever Vol.1 - November 3 only!
NI64 replied to chenGOD's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Glad I caught this on time, almost missed it -
I definitely want these, but I'm kinda holding out to see what the standard editions at other stores are like. Hopefully they come with a regular sleeves, I hate those PVC ones. Also, does anybody know why the EP is listed as a "Bleep Exclusive" while the LP is a "Bleep Upfront Exclusive"? What's the difference?
-
I am kind of in the same boat honestly. Donuts never really clicked with me, it's almost too refined/polished. I think Dilla was at his best when he was more loose and raw. Like I absolutely love his unreleased beats/outtakes (Beats Batch series, etc.). Same reason I love the Wagon Christ Studio Sessions too
-
Same here too, so thats 3 of them accounted for haha I still need to track down a copy of Confederation Trough.
-
Anyone happen to know where I can get a vinyl copy in the US?

Anyone else want more Shobaleader One?/What do we want next outta Tom?
NI64 replied to splesh's topic in Squarepusher
I'd be interested in hearing a return to more Just a Souvenir style jazz-prog. Always felt like 'The Glass Road' hinted at a lot of potential for a full album of complex fusion jams. -
Christ. - Blue Shift Emissions (Remastered)

Incredible album and one of the most cherished records I own. Happyfour Twenty in particular is an immaculate piece of music. -
Oh man, this was one of my favorite albums when I was in high school. Hit me at the perfect time. Still holds up too
-
So excited for this, VHS Head is one of the few truly inimitable producers out there. I can't believe Persistence of Vision is nearly 10 years old now, good lord.

How does he keep getting better?!

Spacetime Continuum - Flurescence EP (Reissue)
NI64 replied to Rubin Farr's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Great news! The original is pricey to get a hold of. The title track also made an appearance on this compilation, which I cannot recommend enough if you haven't heard it yet. -
Yeah I saw that! Would kill to hear more from him, hopefully something else comes out of this. Label said this about that EP:

This is just a personal nitpick, but what's with all of the Bleep/Warp shirts having small text on the front and the art on the back? Seems backwards to me. I could see it if there was a larger logo or something on the front, but it just seems so weird to have 90% of what's on the shirt on the back. At any rate, happy to have the repress. Was really hoping for SOSW as well, but can't say I'm surprised it got skipped again.
