  1. Everybody's freaking out about this one Chinese balloon spying on us... as they open up TikTok on their phones.
  2. True. I'm just wondering how far it will continue to escalate. Probably forever, these Rs have shown time and time again that they have no souls, I don't know why I'm expecting them to change.
  3. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/20/us/solomon-pena-new-mexico-shootings.html It's only a matter of time before one of these nutballs actually seriously hurts or kills a Democratic politician (or a family member of one). Will that be enough for the whackjob Rs, or those who at least have a little conscience left, to stop this "win at any cost" bullshit?
  4. The right to disagree with the preferred narrative of the medical community? You mean the right to disagree with science? OK.
  5. There's definitely a size limit there
  6. No bad press, except when ur pressing against some 16-year-olds.
  7. Whatever happened to the Gaetz sexual abuse / corruption of a minor whatever allegations? Anyway, prob actually helped his cred in Florida.
  8. According to Faux News: Apparently, we're in 8th grade again.
  9. The Rs are reaping what they sowed. They were complicit in letting these idiot reps into their party and giving them a voice just to appease the Trump base. Well the devil has come to collect his dues and it's a true lol-fest.
  10. Hey, we are supposedly a government of representation, and he sure does represent Florida.
  11. I heard an interview this morning on WNYC with some house Republican (forget who), and he basically said that the people holding this up are angling for committee assignments (and this is not the time to do that sort of thing) and/or just interested in generating chaos. Lol. Honestly, this is what they fucking get when their whole ideology (conservatism) is based on selfishness. They can't even work together for anything without saying, "what's in it for me?".
  12. Just finished the Titanic. Highly recommended. Some parts were a bit repetitive and tedious, but they do a good job of spacing out those parts, which are unavoidable in a set like this. It's hard to appreciate the scale without seeing it in person. Lego says it's 1.35 m long and 14 kg (4' 5" and 31 lb.).
  13. It's expensive for Cleveland for sure, but that's because it's a 3 month lease, fully furnished with covered parking in a doorman building within walking distance of the clinic. Longer leases are cheaper. Best of luck with your search!
  14. I think you won't regret taking the initiative and speeding things along. I think you'll look back on that and be proud of yourself that you were able to do that. I didn't know you were from NE Ohio. I'm originally from the Youngstown area but have been traveling to Cleveland a lot the past month or so because my dad is at the Cleveland Clinic recovering from a lung transplant. Not sure where you're looking for apartments, but we got my mom a temporary apartment near the clinic for $2500 a month (1 bedroom, fully furnished, washer/dryer, parking & utilities included). The building is really nice, although the neighborhood is probably not close to what you're looking for.
  15. Ok sounds like it will be a good time to buy some ETFs at a good relative price /Capitalist
  16. I'm trying to learn Python. I love to code, since my brain is very logic-based, but I hate learning syntax.
  17. I wish I was better at math, it would make me much more valuable at my job. Don't get me wrong, I bring a lot to the table (niche measurement scientist), but I have a gigantic dataset from a recent study and I'm having to rely on unreliable data scientists to process everything when I just want to get in there and do the dirty work myself, but lack the skills. I bought myself Tukey's Exploratory Data Analysis book for Xmas and am going to try to learn as much as I can.
  18. I feel like having to constantly call yourself an alpha male probably means you're trying to overcompensate for not really being one.
  19. Seems like the minute she told you she wants a divorce was the point where it was a "done deal", signing the papers is just a formality. It's the intent and the feelings that make the divorce, not some signatures on a paper. Like others have said, even if she does decide to come back and give it a try on her own, there's tons of baggage and a huge rift there. Best to already consider it a done deal and, like others have said, consider the rest as sort of a business transaction (as hard as that may be).
  20. Flew home today from visiting my dad in the hospital and watched this on the plane. Was a nice escape.
  21. Exciting game, though I hate to see it end on PKs. I do think Argentina had the better quality goals overall, especially their second, though Mbappe's non-PK goal was an amazing strike.
  22. That is pretty bad, and I don't like Musk, but to be fair Amazon is down almost 50% YTD and the S&P500 hasn't been banging either:
  23. Beginning of November I had a 5 day sickness, sore throat then fever and body aches then cold-like. Kept testing negative for COVID, may have been RSV. Wife didn't get it and and was also testing negative for COVID so who knows.? Edit: fully vaxxed (2 jnj and new bivalent booster)
