  1. Standard 24-bit for all Bandcamp .wavs though--just an aside. Bleep hits you with an audiophile surcharge. I'm already asking people to repeat themselves and sometimes can't distinguish between similar consonants but those 8 extra bits are *critical*
  2. I am stoked to see Ol' Surgeboi at Detroit in a couple of months. You can run into talent pretty easily there. I saw Lady Starlight hanging out alone by the funnel cakes but decided to leave her be. If I see Tony, I will apologize for libelous memes circa 2010 that he will likely have no clue about.
  3. This movie fucked me up. I knew it was Aronofsky and I knew not to expect a feel-good ride but son of a bitch. I thought about it intensely for a week or so after watching it and while Brendan definitely deserves the accolades, I never want anything to do with it again lol.

    Dogs

Here's to Photobucket for keeping these pics intact for 12 years now lol.
  5. This is some food for thought and I'm curious about your Warner info. The one time I've had to interact with them is to get the digital files for The War on Drugs. Their latest album sounds so much different from anything they've done from a mastering standpoint. It's possible that it's on purpose but on songs like "I Don't Want to Wait", it's so fuckin compressed and blown out in a very unpleasant way. I haven't been able to compare it to other sources but I'm curious if they have a quality control issue that they just don't care about when it comes time to press digital vinyls. This is a .wav extracted from the .mp3 and you can see it brick out at numerous points. I guess it could also just be loudness wars or streaming optimizing. It's a bummer.
  6. The technoflation is roaring. I'm going to Movement in Detroit again this year and the identical ticket and hotel room is 28% higher over last year. It's worth it but fuuuuuu.... Raving? In this economy?
  7. My man made no attempt at social graces and let loose the most honest retch ever haha
  8. Furthermore...I think I wound up just pointing to the proverbial "high seas", which was the opposite of what I wanted to do but it can't be helped.

    Retro

I saw The Foals a few weeks back and they brought along an opener called Glove I went into my own head a little bit during the set and imagined this metaphor of aesthetic packages as costumes. This band is putting on a Wendy O jacket with Romeo Void boots and a New Order hat, etc. "Retro" is the shorthand but the key is youth. Those of prime reproductive years in their peak blossom raid the closets of the past to signal fitness and ingenuity. It seems that it's an unofficial law that you have to return the outfits however. Nature will rebuke you and you'll be as incongruous as J. Howard Marshall fondling Anna Nicole Smith if you try to don the old garments
  11. Well no need to belabor the point but it turns out that Dawn FM is a hell of an album really. There is even a Lopatin mix of the title track so I chucked that into the album. In a way, if you subtract the obvious pop and R&B elements, it's a more well-behaved "Magic OPN". Particularly, "Every Angel Is Terrifying". It could be a straight outtake from the album really. The deluxe artwork further clinches it. Not sure if opn was behind it but it's hitting all his New Age/sci-fi/retro notes. Cheers to 7digital for having 24-bit FLAC for just $12.99
  12. I pretty much know the answer already but, for real though, how? https://archive.org/details/analord-afx It's listed as public domain with no known copyright claims. I know anyone can upload anything to the internet archive and there's no policing it but....surely this can't be true
  13. Tissue song was better when it was their remix of "Behind the Mask" by YMO
  14. Where is ol Danny Boy? Post-40 blues hitting? He must be fully switched over to soundtracks or something.
  15. Hahaha oh man, he's seldom around and he's Scotch, not Irish but this takes me back to when keltoi got a random voicemail from a number that he didn't know. It was very similar to this vid. "I'm gonna fookin kill ya" lol.
  16. Aye--add me to Sean's low-key rotisserie lol
  17. Those fallen leaves, the black door and the ominous din are straight out of a horror film/VHS Head track. "Don't...open...that...door!"
  18. "Should have left a note" energy hahaha
  19. Like, I'm trying to keep my cool about it but it was a shocking experience. When it begins, it's so unassuming that I just felt so confident like "ah yeah, this will be a nice take" like I knew where it was headed. That swap to the garage/2-step was the first left turn and then those lush af ping-pong stabs started swarming around my head. By 1:22 when that ass kicking beat hits, it's such a "fuckin' hell!" moment. The rest of the track is just....dazzling. I know that's a very Liberace adjective to use but it's just what came to the fore. Yeah, anyway, Skee Team 6 on a tactical mission. I still feel funny because I am truly a Jacques Greene fan and if he's reading this, he needs to know that I buy and love his shit ?

    DANK MEMES

Memesters jest but Toyota putting that twin turbo V6 in the new Tundras demands a lot of surface area for intake. The dank nearly becomes reality
  21. Is the rest of the compilation with 800 bit good? Bandcamp locked me out for overlistening to that track and I don't know if it's worth 9 quid
  22. Not really sure the best place to put it but I felt it necessary to alert fans of the Skee to his mighty, bulging remix body. He's not quite to Feast Beast levels yet but I've got a 6 track "EP" of his mixes open and it stands on its own. In fact, even as a Jacques Greene fan, his mix of "Relay" so utterly outshines the original that it reminds me of the Aphex moments of the 90s where his remix would cannonball the rest of the release out of the water. If you guys know others, let me know! 01 - Plaid - Maru 02 - Keleketla! - Swift Gathering 03 - Wladimir M - Planet E 04 - Konx-om-Pax - Rez 05 - Jacques Greene - Relay 06 - Principles Of Geometry - RAM
