squarepusher Squarepusher X Z-MACHINES - Music For Robots
BaggerMcGuirk replied to cear's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
I know a lot of the Aphex and Squarepusher of the late 90s was labeled as gimmicky(super fast drums, bouncing balls, etc) at the time, but performance art shit like this is making it harder and harder not to see it that way myself these days. I really hope the music is interesting at least.- 79 replies

Ashamed to admit I've never heard of him before this record. Also this record is amazing, and it very much reminds me of Tomita and SAW II. This song is called Nightcrawler.

I'm listening to this over and over. I picked up Cro Magnox as well, but this EP is clicking much more with me. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. -

Well there it is. I'm going to set some time to really dig in and get a better grip on the little guy. I appreciate the replies! -

I know you're on the way out soonish, and I'm pretty sure I got buried, and I've also thought of a question, so here yeah. Do you have any tips on programming a 202, or is it more of a happy accident machine? And a name for my Grados would be mighty fine. :) -

Oh my god i just flew in from page 1. I have no questions, just one request. Can y'all name my Grados? You've certainly spent enough time on them. Thanks! -
I've really been enjoying his harder techno output. Looking forward to this.

This looks excellent. Thanks!

This is my favorite Mu-Ziq since Brace Yourself. I can't wait to hear the full album.

I don't have the MS-20 mini yet(I'm hearing they ship in mid April), but I'd agree to an extent to say at least wait until you can get an idea of the sound beyond previews. Also the knobs on the Mopho Keyboard are much better. The desktop knobs are indeed shit.
-
What soundwave said. I had both. Sold the Dark Energy and re-bought the Mopho as a keyboard. I didn't dislike the DE, but it was a gateway into a modular system that outpaced it pretty quickly. DCO or no, the Mopho is a bass monster.

For some reason I remember an interview where he said it was about the royal astronomer being an expression meaning full of shit. Like an emperor's clothes deal. God, that was forever ago though, so I'm probably wrong.

Not terrible. The corners took the brunt of the beating, but the packaging kept the damage limited to creases and wrinkles in the sleeve. Looks like I won't be able to flip this for MASSIVE PROFIT. I'm enjoying the Volume 1 a lot. Particularly the first 5 or so tracks. I haven't gotten to Volume 2, but they're all in my google cloud for now. Woo hoo!

I finally got my copy! I'm not sure where it vanished to, and it was a little banged up, but the discs are fine, and that's my main priority.
-
Ah, thanks. I wrote in. I know how in demand these are(which is why I ordered early), so hopefully I don't come off as sketchy and can get a replacement. My first order from Planet Mu, to boot....
-
I still haven't gotten my copy of this yet... I'm in Cali and am wondering when to write into Planet Mu. I see one US-based poster has one. Anyone else on the west coast waiting on this?
-
So all the Planet Mu stuff was removed from the USA in the last few days. Was it something I said?
-
I figured this thread was resurrected to say that Planet Mu was now on board. Well it is, it seems. I didn't realize they had re-released Tango N'Vectif. Good shit.
-
I don't post nearly enough here, but I'm all over Sint's soundcloud. I have to add my plus one here as well. Great stuff!

I haven't stopped listening to that mix for a couple of days now. Synergy and V.D.B. Joel are a discovery and a half for me. Thanks! -

Longtime reader... I'm surprised there's none of the Barron's work in here. Here's some: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOsIDxGX4-c&playnext=1&list=PL8120C5EECF9F9A64 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8fd6rmjgz4&feature=BFa&list=PL8120C5EECF9F9A64&index=2 also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNKhju6Pryg&feature=BFa&list=PL8120C5EECF9F9A64&index=3
