  1. listening to Squidge in the fridge,is putting a big lush smile on my face. love them verbed rimshots airflow is amazing. still, too soon to pick a favourite, many great tracks to digest =)
  2. Thank you watmm, joyrex, richard, grant. i can't wait to get home to my own private CWLP listening party, i'm off to buy some ales for the occasion!
  3. I was just refering to this post, from this thread http://forum.watmm.com/topic/68890-selected-ambient-works-85-92-as-it-was-created/page-2 "There were around 11 C-90 cassettes worth of tracks that Richard and his mates would play in their cars (he made multiple copies for his friends). Some of the tracks (most likely) ended up on CAT023 as mentioned above, and others may have evolved into other tracks... it's always interesting to see what musical ideas and experiments an artist has in mind, and then what becomes commercially viable or worthy of pressing. " but reading that back, i see you were more speculating, sorry ;)
  4. there was alot of SAW85-92 "outtakes" that didn't make it to the album, some of them ended up on CAT023, Joyrex talked about it in an old watmm thread. So it's safe to say (if he's right) it's connected very closely to SAW85-92, atleast some of the tracks.
  5. Yeah, most likely - all the Rephlex stuff was cut at Porky (from 48kzh DAT), but the test pressings were done at 'Orlake', long since closed down. it says so on the discogs page "Lacquer Cut By – Porky" http://www.discogs.com/Caustic-Window-Caustic-Window-LP/release/482493
  6. I've had like 15 pet rabbits in my lifetime, and I gotta say..... Kinda hard. They are super cute, but also, they feel very "wild", in a sense. If you're an IDM superstar and your pet rabbit got into your music studio whilst you were out for lunch, you'd come back, and tons of wires in the room could be chewed through. Photos, letters, wires, my comics and baseball cards, antique flat stuffs (doilies, cloth), etc. But, they can be potty trained after many years-- but even then, the rabbit I had for the longest time could pee in a designated area, but if he was on your lap for awhile, you'd get wet. Tiny poop everywhere. --But yah, they are super cute. And really friendly, when they don't bite for whatever reason. If you can spend all your time caring for it and training it (unlike a cat, who will want to be on its own to read the newspaper), a rabbit could be nice. i used to have rabbits in the house. one day serveral of my drukqs photographs (came with the CD) were all chewed up. i do not have rabbits anymore.
  7. i counted 10 unknown tracks (exclude-ing the prank calls). has anybody outside of rephlex crew heard these tracks?
  8. This should be out by now digitally, according to that bandcamp page. "released 01 September 2013" yet...it doesn't seem so
  9. Obscure Research was way too good to be a b-sides compilation Needs a vinyl release innit
  10. Sample he used on 'Square Footage' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35CoSLx93lA
  11. exactly, wtf. It makes you remember (if you didn't already realize) what an integral, crucial part of their early sound that synth was. It sounds like they're using different synths, and as a result, they almost sound like a totally different (and much diminished) group. Yeah I miss their secret weapon. but in all seriousness, i love the synths on this album. and one particular synth they used in the past isn't the essence of boc. "same synth preset" comment bothered me. i don't see where you're coming from with that...you're crazy man!
  12. This popped up on IFM. never heard it before. pretty, pretty good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xzk9y8J_TM
  13. Giorgio by Moroder this is definitely very good, alteast the first half. though they could've done something with intresting and musical with giorgio's voice. later half of the song with the live drums and strings i could do without.
  14. I'm on 'Game of Love'. Very impressed with the vocoder, nice song too.

    ITALO DISCO

Love this track. other than being really good musically, the production is masterful.
  16. I usually call bullshit on albums that has lots of (feat. whomever) behind the tracktitles. I fucking hate that. It's a sellout thing. To me, thats an indicator that it's going to blow. I'm prejudiced. Watmm style. Yeah but look at who they're collabrating with. All people who have inspired them to be Daft Punk.
  17. pharrel does a nice job with the vocals. fits the track well.

    ITALO DISCO

Yes! i recommend the I-Robots compilation, probably the best one if you're into the less cheesy side of italo. http://www.discogs.com/Various-I-Robots-Italo-Electro-Disco-Underground-Classics/release/237059
  19. Volume 1 is a winner. Really fun and unpredictable compostitions.. Waiting for my copy to arrive from the Skam shop, better late then never heh.

    ITALO DISCO

This is an obscure one, and an absolute gem. Italo meets Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express if you will. The same guys who made 'Lectric Workers - Robot is Systematic' and 'Decadance - On and On"
