  1. Yep. it's a nice scene. :)
  2. ya I should get one. They go for cheap. I'm really just waiting for Jim to make a proper timeline editor in Numerology. Then that app will be unstoppable. The timeline right now is pretty crappy.
  3. I'd like a launchpad for numerology, but ya I can imagine that would gather dust. i have a korg microkontrol, which is a great controller, but also rarely gets used. :p
  4. haha that might do it.
  5. I believe there is an instajugle thing for mac...
  6. haha Hence my Foozleville album! http://tunes.tellmesomethingnice.com/album/a-day-in-foozleville
  7. I agree. This is a topic mostly neglected by modern music writing and deserves more attention. It can be the difference between an ugly imposing rack, and a cute rack.
  8. My favorite bit of kit though is the small stuffed puppy which is strategically positioned to guard the whole rack.
  9. [offtopic] Holy shit Zoe! Did you really do the music for Get Lamp? I love that doc! Just had a peek at your IMDB page. That earns you major badass points in my book :) [/offtopic] continue on now...
  10. haha nice setup, but it's that an awful waste of rack space? :D
  11. let me know how that goes. Those things go for so cheap.
  12. I'm working with Melda now to create some tutorial videos, so I'm getting my head around the whole plugin offerings. Quite insane. One quy, and he's developed like 66 plugins... Anyways, there is a really great and huge collection of free stuff. Macz, and windowz. vst, vst3 and au. They are basically simplified, and single band versions of the rest of the plugin set. The pro set offers 6 band versions of all these pretty much. enjoy! Here's the list: MAnalyzer MAutopan MAutoPitch MBandPass MCompressor MEqualizer MFlanger MFreqShifter MLimiter MLoudnessAnalyzer MNoiseGenerator MNotepad MOscillator MPhaser MRingModulator MTremolo MTuner MStereoExpander MStereoScope MUtility MVibrato MWaveShaper http://www.meldaproduction.com/freevstplugins/
  13. big fucking disappointment that movie. They build up this epic sweeping story as if it were going to play out in Arthur C. Clarke graduer, but then the whole shit just turns into a dumb zombie movie.
  14. I was going to say John Stanier too haha. I actually love battles, although I would agree they are a strange act to have on warp. Fucking epic live. :) The drummers in Mice Parade are great too, but the lead guy is a big fat cockhead.

  16. damn homie got a midi merger up in that bitch!
  17. oh no I'd never do this for money. :p I work as a graphic designer so I know exactly what it's like being a creative professional. Shit can be so exhausting. I would like to produce a band sometime, but I'd never just be a recording engineer or mix dood. no way.
  18. nice! Does it grind doing sound for fun and for work?
  19. woah nice. What do you do for work? I like that I can see my avatar on your screen hahaha.
  20. haha fair enough. :) I think the best route to a proper studio is always through cheap kit unless you really want to dump thousands all at one time. Since I'm american, and I live in Europe I try to bring stuff over here when I visit home, and resell it for the european price. :) I have a family and stuff so I can't really justify spending tons on stuff for fun only. Electribes are perfect as they are not super common here and always in demand. I can get almost double here for them! Eventually I'd like to have an mpc or some elektron kit for sequencing. And a new mixer. :p BTW I love how you've setup your mixer. Did you build those angled rack cases yourself? Nice stuff. :)
  21. jesus how long did that little collection take to get together. I'm not even sure I'd be able to productively use a studio that big hahahaha.
  22. HHmmm good ideas all around. That totally makes sense. I think I tend to use any stable configuration for a project, so then I have to explore all the variations possible within that setup. The main annoyance I face now, is that I always make music at night after the baby is asleep, and our flat is kinda small, so I have to be quite. I can't be banging around all the time. In that sense it's nice to have a stable setup I can just switch on and use.
  23. ya I'd love a table, but I don't have space for it. The tiers are fine, but there are a couple of irritations with it, namely that my main computer is used for work, and lives on a separate table, requiring like 4 LONG leads to get sound to the monitors, and the soundcard. Fucking annoying to have to do a bunch of wiring every time I want to make something. Soon we will be getting a proper studio space for our company though so I might colonize some portion of that :D We also have a small basement room in our flat building that I could potentially use, but there is no power in there. >:|
