  1. some decent stuff on here, i especially liked this one https://www.metabunk.org/debunked-cyberberkut-video-supposedly-showing-staged-isis-beheading-of-foley.t6520/ dude spent a shit load of time working on this, way more than i did haha i did a pretty similar debunking of that Cyberberkut fake ISIS video here normally if a website like this was filled with shit about how Russians spread disinfo or whatever I would be very suspicious of it, id probably have to see the way they approach 9/11 to be able to give it a full/fair shake.
  2. it seems pretty obvious now that Civil War is more or less a redux of 'how do we not fuck up an ensemble avengers cast movie'. Maybe contractually joss wheadon already had the gig before Winter Soldier came out, but clearly Winter Soldier is the main winner they have so far. Even Iron Man in retrospect (which i never liked) seems like a bland piece of shit in comparison to soldier. Im just saying they probably had a much smaller scale version of Civil War in mind initially and once they saw that Ultron was not going to turn out the way they hoped, they amped up the production/script/everything for Civil War. You can't capture lightening in a bottle twice though, would be really surprised if they ever reached Winter soldier heights again
  3. appreciate you being open about it, seriously. for some reason people here think I'm the only truther on the board. yeah i'm talking about you Dr. Lopez its interesting to me though how many people share our feelings who aren't comfortable talking about it publicly, especially on the board. I get private messages here and on facebook all the time from people who feel similar to us (who for one reason or another don't talk about it here).
  4. not sure if Call me Lucky has been talked about in here before but highly recommend it. Its basically about Barry Crimmins a standup comedian who inspired the likes of Bill Hicks and other people from that era who sorta dropped off the map after having to deal with repressed memories of being repeatedly raped as a child. Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. trying very hard to get him as a guest on Media Roots radio, but in the process had a ridiculously enjoyable conversation with him on the phone, he got like 20 jokes in. I think he was trying to feel me out first since he didn't know who the fuck i was, hopefully I didn't scare him off lol
  5. nero's day at disneyland is one of those bands and I can't quite explain this 'effect' but i think probably other musicians have experienced this, but a lot of the time when I'm really jamming out with a song it somehow will start soudning like Nero's Day at Disneyland and I have to stop and reel it back. Its not because Im not a fan of his music, I think its decent, but its just because its like a 'oh no how is this sounding like nero's day at disneyland again' kind of a feeling. It used to happen to me with older AE stuff like chichlisuite, sometimes other musicians too. Anytime i try to fuck with classical or bombastic symphonic type of sounds in a song this nero effect is inevitable, its almost like a blackhole waiting to suck me in
  6. weird that Gotham's Penguin is a rail thin hipster twink who is some kind of serial killer. one of the weirdest and most deeply unsatisfying shows i've ever seen in my life.
  7. lol @ that gif, it's hard to believe in retrospect Chris Nolan actually wrote a scene in the last batman movie where Bane holds the stock market at gunpoint and hacks it
  8. new season of Fargo starts very soon. I was very very skeptical when the show first started, i didn't particularly like Martin Freeman or Billy Bob but after like 3 episodes i got extremely sucked in. pleasant surprise, i think of all the movie-spinoff Tvshows and reboots its by far the best one.
  9. its interesting to see an interview like that because sometimes i pretend 'what if that was me' and realize how retarded i would feel if an interviewer started to ask me high level educated sounding questions like this, i would probably just try to steer the conversation to more generalities. Do you ever get sorta weirded out reading interviews like this and wonder if the interviewer is almost 'testing' their level of knowledge about things, sometimes it feels like a hipster pissing contest but maybe thats just my own insecurities
  10. pretty sure that the New 52 designates at least in part that there are at least 52 different alternate earths. The DC universe unlike the Marvel Universe from very early on has always been playing with alternate earth versions of their characters. Ultraman (the alternate 'evil' superman has been around since the 1950s). I think batman is the only big character from the new 52 reboot that remembers what happened before the reset. could be 100% wrong about that, but regardless there are definitely more than just 2 versions of earth even in the post 52 universe (if they haven't mentioned them yet, they will eventually)
  11. easily his most unique work, he's finally (i think) moved on from being someone doing really great retro sounding electronic music to something his own. Replica had hints of that, R+7 was a step back but this new one really solidifies that uniqueness for me. Not to say his earlier work was just strictly emulating older styles, but it was heavily indebted to an older sound.
  12. You're the one that literally thinks 9/11 was an inside job, right? ok i could see why delete thought i was 'doggin' on limpy. Im fine with taking weird positions on things, but you don't see people who don't believe michael jackson was a paedo or that bill cosby isn't a racist being called tin foil dick conspiratards. but in a way i could see how its easier mentally to take some kind of conspiracy approach to something 100% non consequential like the way people have been obsessing about the Jonbenet ramsey murders for decades, its just fun. Rabbit hole conspiracy worlds like 9/11 generally make people turn kinda crazy or the people who touch their toe in and actually get mad/angry at truthers morph into emotionally malnourished reactionaries or even worse Sam Harris fans. Like we can all probably be able to sit down and watch the Nirvana documentary 'soaked in bleach' and sort of entertain the idea that courtney killed kurt (for fun in our minds), its much more pure pleasure/masturbatory. So i take back what i said about it being weird, I think i understand it now. Why is it still such a polarized emotional thing to sort of speculate about 9/11? It shouldn't be. I mean shit I can even laugh at the 'fire doesn't melt steel beams' truther memes now, but isn't 14 years enough time to kinda man up and not be so weird and touchy about what actually happened on 9/11 anymore?
  13. phone sex/beating off, its in the Louis Theroux doc. Guy was still in love (now as a grown man) with michael in a way, it was quite awkward. It got in the tabloids in england when his parents I think caught them on the phone once talking weird or sexy, this was during Thriller era or pre Thriller michael jackson.
  14. i wasn't actually, i was confused at first by why caze or somebody else who takes weird positions (sorry I cant remember who) thought that MJ never molested any kids and it was a big misunderstanding and then even more confused by MisterE suggesting this late in the game that Bill Cosby might not be a rapist. but how did this turn into a 9/11 discussion? were you and limpy arguing this in another thread? Sometimes I can't tell if people on watmm are just bored or if they actually believe some of the shit they say.
  15. this thread should be called 'how to practice being a contrarian for no reason'
  16. glad you like those, not quite the same industrial flavor as the stuff you posted but still really quality. Really hope they put out some kind of official release at some point
  17. some reason i didn't mind the effects in Pi since the whole thing was done in an over the top bright fashion, some of the visuals in that movie were beautiful. Im surprised more people here didn't complain about how bad the cgi in Age of Ultron was, because as shit as this Moby Dick trailer looks to me the compositing/blending/rendering seems still higher quality than 75% of Ultron
  18. you guys kill me. Have you seen the Martin Bashir documentary where he is confronted about how often he shares his own bed with children? Have you seen the documentary by Louie Theroux where he interviews a now grown up scottish man who used to have a long distance sexual relationship with MJ when he was 14 and MJ was like 22? We may have helped 'ruin him' by the collective gawking of society but the dude was definitely doing sexual things with children, Corey Feldman never admitted MJ molested him but even he said MJ did weird shit with him like make him look through a book of photographs of genitals infected with stds. I don't know what it is about this forum but people take the weirdest fucking positions sometimes.
  19. sounds like acid made by someone who knows how to mix and program a decent beat who literally recorded his first ever 303 line and called it a track, one of the most unimaginative 303/acid riffs i've heard in a very long time. If i didn't know any better (and maybe i don't) it sounds to me like he sampled a single one-shot acid squelch and thought it would somehow pass the smell test. I'm sure people will still like it though.
