lulz we all here wrapped up in our phallic narcissism and I just now thought to ask...how did you feel, yek?

I haven't tried it yet. I thought I'd ask first cause I don't want to do nothing gay.

is it ok if he never watch your business

how can you truly be experimental IDM if

  2. Jerking off into fire while blasting your fav manowar tracks.

    Max Hetero.

Battle Hymn for the max climax.

    lol page break

lol I didn't realize this topic was gonna have 'jerk off into fire' further back in the topic

jerks off into fire during a pre-rendered cut-scene

Edit: people are obsessed with uncut cutscenes too. It's fucking weird and sometimes I think it's antisemitism

they always blame their parents and/or mohels

  3. There's no way I can put the whole truth about myself here and hit the post button without deleting it, which I do about 90% of the time when I post on a message board.

I will confess something.  I was prescribed Haldol as a teenager.  It made me a zombie and sucked the creativity out of me.  I took the entire bottle and I had a string of seizures and almost died.  So they took me off of it and never followed up.  After a near fatal accident a decade ago I now yearn to find the silver-lining in everything I encounter.  That's as good as it can get from my perspective.

Obel, I moved far away and started fresh.  I also can't see ever having a long-term friendship or relationship with someone.  I am content and find happiness alone.  You aren't alone in those aspects.  And the majority of people will not understand this reasoning.  Another truth might be that I am barely holding on to my grasp of reality.

I am not going to delete this, here goes

I dunno, you're still here so I dunno if you should figure it's like I AM ROCK I AM ISLAND, maybe you just are SUPER EMPATH mode and this mode of communication is quite fulfilling to you, and like a real life relationship would feel all hyperreal (.org), but in a way not saying anything bad about your character traits

  4. lol probably a little autistic but I'm honestly more coherent in real life than on this fucking place. It was probably shitty growing up though

also anxiety so I think I said it but some rambling on the site may be product of anxiety

kind of disorganized at times but might just be general BRAIN FOG I dunno

  5. what if boards of canada did a live show where instead of them playing it was giant robots that looked like them

except they wouldn't be very good robots

they'd basically just be like those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men you see in used car lots

    except made out of metal

    yep

they'd bring 'em out all folded up in a crate & then have a big industrial fan blow them up to standing

and for years after ppl would say

    "i was there"

"i was there for huge chrome cylindar BoCs unfolding"

in 12:6 surround except they intentionally take out one speaker so it's not actually 'surrounding' you, just to piss off the audience

    Meathole is probably my favourite.

I think the abstractness in the 'dark evil' type snares albums gets downplayed and the silly sound type ones are seen as more 'abstract' by default. Pressure Torture from Doll Doll Doll seems like an absolutely bonkers idea musically. Also there's that "Mercy Funk" track with the insane time signature description in the youtube comments

also the more digital-sounding Snares albums seem like the 'scary' ones to me in all honesty, a lot of the dark ones go so over the top they make me want to chuckle maybe and maybe that's Snares' intent. But like Coke Ajax from Huge Chrome Cylinder Box and the next one Li2CO3, if anything is autobiographical about Snares' music it's not the over the top serial killer themes it's those two tracks, and the fact they follow each other on the album..... hmmm

like let's just say maybe he took bipolar medication and his intent was like "screw you IDM posers, this is real 'I feel like a robot' music"

Totally agreed, and I feel his melodies don't get the credit that they deserve because they're so overpowered by the sheer density of his sound. Pwntendo, Duffy, Miss Balaton, Vida, etc all have beautiful melodic progression. And then tracks like Marty's Tardis which have seamless genre shifts; spastic breakcore to dub.  People dismiss him too quickly because of the initial shock value of his tracks, but he's a seriously talented artist in all aspects.

Nineteen1319 has a freaking beautiful melancholic melody part if you get past the speak and spells getting raped

I said something like the last track Bezcitny reminds me of a digital Francis Bacon painting. Like so ugly it's nearly beautiful

I agree heartily yes thank you. I wish someone would take away his modular kit and force him to make more stuff like this.

It's def one of the best albums Snares has ever made.

he doesn't really sequence w/the modular.. i think mostly he uses elektrons for drums. there's videos of him jamming w/the machinedrum/rytm doing classic sounding VSnares stuff.. i think the modular is mostly just a big sound source for him usually.. i could be wrong on that but just my guess. i'm sure he uses everything all the time... except computers.. maybe as a clock for the larger system but that's it.

i had a brief chat w/him a few years ago and he said he hadn't used a computer for music in years.  said he uses the hardware.. does multiple takes/performances to 2 track and the song is done. no fiddling w/mixes and edits etc.

i think whatever he uses he's gonna sounds VSnares... he crushes renoise pretty good ay?

edit: i dig this album a lot.

traditional synth music /is/ external sequencing stuff, I think the rest is at least Renoise controlling synthz and stuff

and Cats is a fun album but the production has that kind of Richard D James Album vibes where it's just a little too distorted and annoying for comfort

it's hecking crazy how old an album it is though, yeah it's 2001, even if Drukqs was released there's no reason to believe it was 'informed' by the sound of Drukqs
